Remote control problem
Following disconnection of the ve-
hicle battery, replacement of the re-
mote control battery or in the event
of a remote control malfunction, you
can no longer unlock, lock or locate
your vehicle.
First of all, use the key in the lock
to unlock or lock your vehicle.
Then, reinitialise the remote
control.
If the problem persists, contact a
CITROËN dealer as soon as pos-
sible.
Reinitialisation
Switch off the ignition.
Turn the key to position 2
(Ignition on) .
Press the closed padlock imme-
diately for a few seconds.
Switch off the ignition and re-
move the key from the ignition
switch.
The remote control is fully opera-
tional again. Battery ref.: CR0523/3 volts.
This replacement battery is avail-
able from CITROËN dealers.
If the remote control bat-
t e r y i s fl a t , y o u a r e i n -
formed by lighting of this
warning lamp, an audible
signal and a message on
the multifunction screen.
Unclip the casing using a coin at
the notch.
S l i d e t h e fl a t b a t t e r y o u t o f i t s
location.
Slide the new battery into its
location observing the original
direction.
Clip the casing together.
Reinitialise the remote control.

Remote control problem

Unlocking
Press this button again to unlock
the vehicle.
The red indicator lamp on the button
goes off.
If the vehicle is locked or dead-
locked from the outside, the red in-
d i c a t o r l a m p fl a s h e s a n d b u t t o n A
is inactive.
In this case, use the remote
control or the key to unlock the
vehicle.
Automatic central locking
This system automatically locks the
doors, boot and rear screen while
driving.
You can activate or deactivate this
function.
Locking
When the speed exceeds 6 mph
(10 km/h), the doors, the boot and
the rear screen lock automatically. Unlocking
Above 6 mph (10 km/h), press
this button to unlock the doors,
the boot and the rear screen
temporarily.
Ignition on:
Deactivation
Press this button again for more
than two seconds.

System which locks or unlocks the
doors mechanically in the event of
a malfunction of the battery or of the
central locking.
Locking the driver's door
Insert the key in the lock, then
turn it to the right.
Unlocking the driver's door
Insert the key in the lock, then
turn it to the left.
Locking the front and rear
passenger doors
Insert the key in the lock, located
on the edge of the door, then turn
it one eighth of a turn .
Unlocking the front and rear
passenger doors
Pull the interior door opening
control.
If one of the doors or the boot or
rear screen is open, the automat-
ic central locking does not take
place. Activation
Press this button for more than
two seconds.

STOP & START
The Stop & Start system puts the en-
gine temporarily on standby - STOP
m o d e - d u r i n g s t o p s i n t h e t r a f fi c
( r e d l i g h t s , t r a f fi c j a m s , o r o t h e r . . . ) .
The engine restarts automatically -
START mode - as soon as you want
to move off. The restart takes place
instantly, quickly and silently.
Perfect for urban use, the Stop &
Start system reduces fuel consump-
tion and exhaust emissions as well
as the noise level when stationary.
Operation
Going into engine STOP mode The "ECO" warning lamp
comes on in the instrument
panel and the engine goes
into standby:
- with the 6-speed electronic
gearbox system , at speeds be-
l o w 4 m p h ( 6 k m / h ) , p r e s s t h e
brake pedal or put the selector
lever in position N . I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h t h e s y s -
tem, a time counter calculates the
sum of the periods in STOP mode
d u r i n g a j o u r n e y . I t r e s t s i t s e l f t o z e r o
every time the ignition is switched on
with the key.
Special cases: STOP mode
unavailable
Never refuel with the en-
gine in STOP mode; you
must switch off the ignition
with the key.
For your comfort, during parking
maoeuvres, STOP mode is not avail-
able for a few seconds after coming
out of reverse gear.
STOP mode does not affect the func-
tionality of the vehicle, such as for
example, braking, power steering...
STOP mode is not invoked
when:
- the driver's door is open,
- the driver's seat belt is not fas- tened,
- the vehicle has not exceeded 6 m p h ( 1 0 k m / h ) s i n c e t h e l a s t
engine start using the key,
- the electric parking brake is ap- plied or being applied,
- the engine is needed to maintain a comfortable temperature in the
passenger compartment,
- demisting is active,
- some special conditions (battery charge, engine temperature,
braking assistance, ambient
t e m p e r a t u r e . . . ) w h e r e t h e e n g i n e
is needed to assure control of a
system.
In this case, the "ECO" warning
l a m p fl a s h e s f o r a f e w s e c o n d s t h e n
goes off.
This operation is perfectly normal.

In the event of a malfunction with
the system, the "ECO OFF" switch
w a r n i n g l a m p fl a s h e s t h e n c o m e s
on continuously.
Have it checked by a CITROËN
dealer.
In the event of a fault in STOP mode,
the vehicle may stall. It is then nec-
essary to switch off the ignition and
start the engine again using the key. Maintenance
Operating fault
Before working under the
bonnet, deactivate the Stop
& Start system to avoid any
r i s k o f i n j u r y r e s u l t i n g f r o m a u t o -
matic operation of START mode.
This system requires a battery with
a s p e c i a l s p e c i fi c a t i o n a n d t e c h n o l o g y
(reference numbers available from
C I T R O Ë N d e a l e r s ) .
Fitting a battery not listed by
CITROËN introduces the risk of
malfunction of the system.
The Stop & Start system makes use of advanced technology.
Specialist knowledge is needed
for any work on the system, which can
only be assured by CITROËN dealers.
