LANE DEPARTURE WARNING SYSTEM
System which detects the involun-
t a r y c r o s s i n g o f l o n g i t u d i n a l t r a f fi c
lane markings on the ground (solid
o r b r o k e n l i n e ) .
S e n s o r s , fi t t e d b e l o w t h e f r o n t b u m -
per, trigger a warning if the vehicle
drifts over a lane marking (speed
h i g h e r t h a n 5 0 m p h ( 8 0 k m / h ) ) .
This system is particularly useful on
motorways and main roads. Activation
Press button A , the indicator
lamp comes on.
Deactivation
Press button A again, the indica-
tor lamp switches off.
The status of the system remains
in the memory when the ignition is
switched off.
Detection
You are warned by the vibration of
the driver's seat cushion:
- on the right-hand side, if the marking on the ground has been
crossed on the right,
- on the left-hand side, if the mark- ing on the ground has been
crossed on the left.
No warning is transmitted while the
direction indicator is active and for
approximately 20 seconds after the
direction indicator is switched off.
A warning may be transmitted if a
d i r e c t i o n m a r k i n g ( e . g . a r r o w ) o r
n o n - s t a n d a r d m a r k i n g ( e . g . g r a f fi t i )
is crossed. Operating fault
In the event of a malfunction, the
service warning lamp comes on,
accompanied by an audible signal
and a message on the multifunction
screen.
Consult a CITROËN dealer.
The lane departure warning sys-
tem cannot, in any circumstances,
replace the need for vigilance and
responsibility on the part of the
driver. The detection may be impeded:
- if the sensors are dirty (mud,
s n o w . . . ) ,
- if the markings on the ground are worn,
- if there is little contrast between the markings on the ground and
the road surface.

The rear pneumatic suspension en-
hances driving comfort by maintain-
ing a constant body height whatever
the vehicle load. Operation
- If there is an increase in vehicle
load, a sinking of the rear of
the vehicle is detected and the
p n e u m a t i c s p r i n g s i n fl a t e i n o r -
der to compensate for the extra
weight.
- If there is a decrease in load, a rising of the rear of the vehicle is
detected and so the pneumatic
s p r i n g s d e fl a t e t o r e t u r n t h e v e -
hicle to its nominal height.
- If the vehicle has been unused for a long period, the pneumatic
s p r i n g s m a y i n fl a t e i f n e c e s s a r y
when you unlock or open a door,
so as to return the vehicle to its
nominal height.
If you do not reactivate the system
manually, automatic height correc-
tion will be activated as soon as the
vehicle starts to move. During height
correction, the service warning lamp
comes on and a message on the
screen reminds you not to exceed
1 0 k m / h ( 6 m p h ) .
The automatic correction does not
function if the doors or the boot are
open.
The automatic correction operates
even if your vehicle is in power
economy mode. Activation/Deactivation
The automatic height correction can
be deactivated:
press button B located on the
left hand boot interior trim for ap-
proximately two seconds,
release the button when you
hear a beep. Deactivation is con-
fi r m e d b y t h e l i g h t i n g o f t h e i n d i -
cator lamp in the button B .
In the event of a system fault,
alert messages, always in asso-
ciation with the service warning
lamp, will appear in the instru-
ment panel . Consult a CITROËN
dealer.
You must deactivate the system in
the following circumstances:
- when working under the vehicle,
- when changing a wheel,
- when transporting the vehicle on
a lorry or ferry
To reactivate automatic height cor-
rection:
press again on the button B for
approximately two seconds,
release the button when you hear

by the extinction of the indicator
lamp in the button B .

Pressing this button again immediately cancels the request. The green indicator lamp goes off.
ASSISTANCE CALL
When the ignition is switched on, the green indicator lamp comes on for 3 seconds indicating that the system is operating correctly.
I f t h e o r a n g e i n d i c a t o r l a m p fl a s h e s : t h e r e is a system malfunction.
If the orange indicator lamp is on c o n t i n u o u s l y : t h e b a c k u p b a t t e r y m u s t b e replaced.
In both cases, consult a CITROËN dealer.
Pressing this button again immediately cancels the request.

OPERATION OF THE SYSTEM
T h e g r e e n i n d i c a t o r l a m p r e m a i n s o n ( w i t h o u t fl a s h i n g ) w h e n communication is established. It goes off at the end of commun ication.
This call is dealt with by the CITROËN Emergency team which re ceives locating information from the vehicle and can send a detailed alert to the appropriate emergency services. In countries in which the team is no t operational, or when the locating service has been expressly refused, t h e c a l l i s d e a l t w i t h d i r e c t l y b y t h e e m e r g e n c y s e r v i c e s ( 1 1 2 ) w i t h o u t t h e vehicle location.
If an impact is detected by the airbag ECU, and independently of any triggering of the airbags, an emergency call is made automatically.
