Range indicator
When the remaining range falls to a low level, "- - -"
is displayed in the instrument panel.
The display of "---", indicating that theservice date has arrived, comes on automatically after a cer tain time and distance travelled. The screen then indicates the time remaining before the next service is due.

Resetting the service indicator to zero
After each ser vice, the ser vice indicator shouldbe rest to zero.
The procedures is as follows: )Switch off the ignition (switch in the LOCK
or ACC position).
)Press the reset button A
several times in succession until the service indicator is
displayed. )Press and hold the reset button for a fewseconds until the spanner flashes.)Press the reset button while the spanner is flashing to change the display from "---"to"CLEAR"
The distance (or time) remaining before thenext ser vice is due is displayed.

The range can be displayed in miles or kilometres.
To c h a nge the units, refer to the"Distance recorder" section.

If the doors are locked, opening the driver's door does not unlock the other doors.

Lighting stalk
Main lighting
The various front and rear lamps of the vehicleare designed to adapt the lighting progressivelyin relation to the climatic conditions and so ensure the best visibility for the driver:
- sidelamps, to be seen,
- dipped beam headlamps to see without
dazzling other drivers,
- main beam headlamps to see clearl
y when
the road is clear.

Additional lighting
Other lamps are provided to fulfil therequirements of particular driving conditions:
- a rear foglamp to be seen from a distance,
- front foglamps for even better visibility,
- daytime running lamps to be seen during
the day.

Anti-slip regulation (ASR)

Trajectory control systems



Deactivation

In exceptional conditions (starting a vehicle
which is bogged down, stuck in snow, on soft ground, ...), it may be advisable to deactivate
the ASR and ESP systems, so that the wheels can move freely and regain grip. ) Press this button button, located on the
dashboard to the right of the steeringwheel, until the corresponding symbol
appears in the instrument panel screen.
Activation
These systems are activated automatically each time the vehicle is started.
They come into operation in the event of a grip
or trajectory problem.
The displa
y of this symbol indicates
that the ASR and ESP systems are deactivated.

Reactivation

These systems are not reactivated automatically.
)Press this button again to reactivate themmanually.
The symbol going off in the instrument panel indicates
the reactivation of the ASR and ESP systems. The anti-slip regulation (also known as Traction Control) optimises traction to prevent skidding
of the wheels, by acting on the brakes of the
driving wheels and on the engine.
The electronic stability programme acts on the
brake of one or more wheels and on the engine
to keep the vehicle on the trajectory requiredby the driver, within the limits of the laws of physics.
This is indicated b
y flashing of this
warning lamp in the instrument panel.


The ASR/ESP systems offer exceptional safety in normal driving, butthis should not encourage the driver to take extra risks or drive at high speed.
The correct functioning of these systems depends on obser vation of the manufacturer’s recommendationsregarding the wheels (tyres and rims),the braking components, the electronic components and the assembly and repair procedures used by theCITROËN dealer network.
After an impact, have these systems checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.

Each rear seat is fitted with a three-point inertia
reel seat belt.

Fastening

Check that the seat belt is fastened correctly by pulling the strap.

Deactivation
Only the front passenger's airbag can be deactivated:)with the ignition off, inser t the key in thefpassenger airbag deactivation switch A , )turn it to the "OFF"position, )remove the key.
This warning lamp comes on in the centreconsole when the ignition is on and until
the airbag is reactivated.
To ensure the safety of your child, thepassenger airbag must be deactivatedwhen you install a "rear facing" childseat on the front passenger seat. Other wise, the child would risk beingseriously injured or killed if the airbag were deployed.


Reactivation

When you remove the child seat, turn switch A
to the "ON"position to reactivate the airbag andso ensure the safety of your front passenger in
the event of an impact.
The associated warnin

Operating fault

If this warning lamp comes on in the
instrument panel, contact a CITROËN
dealer or a qualified workshop to have

he system checked. The airbags may no longer be deployed in the event of
a serious impact.

Lateral airbags
Deployment
The lateral airbags are deployed unilaterally in
the event of a serious side impact applied to all
or par t of the side impact zone B, perpendicular
to the longitudinal centreline of the vehicle on a horizontal plane and directed from the outside
towards the inside of the vehicle.
The lateral airbag inflates between the hip andshoulder of the front occupant of the vehicle and the corresponding door trim panel.
System which protects the driver and frontpassenger in the event of a serious side impact
in order to limit the risk of injury to the chest,
between the hip and the shoulder.

Curtain airbags
System which protects the driver and
passengers in the event of a serious side
impact in order to limit the risk of injury tothe head.
Each curtain airbag is fitted in the pillars
and the upper section of the passenger compartment.
In the event of a minor impact or bump on the side of the vehicle or if the vehicle rolls over, the airbag may not be triggered.
In the event of a rear or front collision, the airbag is not triggered.


Deployment

Each curtain airbag is deployed at the same
time as the corresponding lateral airbag in the event of a serious side impact applied to all or par t of the side impact zone B, perpendicular
to the longitudinal centreline of the vehicle on
a horizontal plane and directed from the outside
towards the inside of the vehicle.
The cur tain airbag inflates between the front or
rear occupant of the vehicle and the windows.

f this warning lamp comes on in
the instrument panel, contact a
CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop to have the systemchecked. The airbags may no longer be deployed in the event of a seriousimpact.
