ALP 2 Air distribution fault
NOTESNone.
Make sure the air circuit (cabin filter, scuttle panel grille, air ducts etc.) is not blocked.
Ensure that the passenger compartment ventilator fan is in good condition.
If necessary, repair, clean or replace the cabin filter.
Ensure that the passenger compartment fan unit is properly sealed.
Repair if necessary.
Switch the front passenger compartment fan to
full, the temperature control to maximum heat or
maximum cold, and move the air distribution
control.
Check that the air outlet is the one selected.
Has the customer complaint been
confirmed?
NO
Remove the dashboard and visually check that
moving the control alters the position of the
distribution flaps.
Is there movement?
NO
The air distribution is operating
correctly.
If necessary, explain how the system
works to the customer again.
Make sure the distribution flaps are
in good condition, the footwell
distribution flap linkages are in
position, and that there is no
mechanical obstruction.
If necessary, recondition, clean or
replace the heating and ventilation
unit.

ALP 3 Air flow fault
NOTESNone.
Is the passenger compartment fan working?
YES
Make sure the air circuit (cabin filter, scuttle panel grille, air ducts etc.) is not blocked.
Ensure that the passenger compartment blower is in good condition.
If necessary, repair, clean or replace the cabin filter.
With the cabin filter removed, put your hand into
the housing to ensure that the evaporator is not
being obstructed and that there is no ice.
Is the evaporator obstructed?
NO
Ensure that the passenger compartment fan unit is properly sealed. Also check that the air distribution ducts
(right and left, upper and lower) are correctly connected to the housing as well as the refrigeration pipe in the
glove box (if the customer complains about a feeling of cold air on the passenger side).
Repair if necessary.
Check that the air recirculation flap does not remain closed when in the recirculation position.
Repair if necessary.
Does the fault disappear when the air
distribution is changed?
NO
Repair, see ALP 5.
Remove the evaporator and clean
if it is blocked.
If there is ice on the evaporator,
perform a conformity check on the
temperature sensors (exterior and
coolant temperatures).
Replace any faulty components.
Ensure that all the air vents
are open.
If the fault is still present, see ALP 2.

Check that there is a + 12 V accessories supply on track B1 of the resistor unit and an earth on track A1 of the
control panel connector.
Repair if necessary.
Make sure that the control panel speed selection button works properly.
Repair if necessary.
Make sure the resistor unit functions properly.
Replace the resistor unit if the resistances of the first three speeds are not:
Speed 1 (tracks A1 and A4): 1.97 ΩΩ Ω Ω
Speed 2 (tracks A2 and A4): 1.3 ΩΩ Ω Ω
Speed 3 (tracks A3 and A4): 0.41 ΩΩ Ω Ω
Check the insulation, continuity and absence of interference resistance of the connections:
Control panel track A2 Track A1 of the resistor unit
Control panel track A3 Track A2 of the resistor unit
Control panel track A4 Track A3 of the resistor unit
Control panel track A5 Track A4 of the resistor unit
Repair if necessary.
Check the insulation, continuity and absence of interference resistance of the connections:
Fan assembly track 2 Track A4 of the resistor unit
Repair if necessary.
Make sure the fan blade is in good condition and not wobbling on its axle.
Repair if necessary.

ALP 4 Inefficient windscreen demisting
NOTESSpecial notes:
Check that the inside of the windows are not dirty, as this reduces the efficiency
of demisting.
Is the passenger compartment fan working?
YES
Check that the air extraction vents are not
blocked.
Repair if necessary.
Is the fault still present?
YES
Check that there are no water leaks into the
passenger compartment which would
significantly increase the humidity levels and
reduce the effectiveness of demisting.
Repair if necessary (see ALP 12).
Is the fault still present?
YES
Make sure the compressor is operating
correctly by turning on the air conditioning.
Does the compressor work?
YES
