Towing a trailer
Good Practice
In certain cases of particularly arduous
use (towing the maximum load up a
steep slope in high temperatures), the
engine automatically limits its power. In
this case, the automatic cutting off of
the air conditioning allows the engine
power to be recovered.
Tyres: check the tyre pressures
of the towing vehicle (see the
" I d e n t i fi c a t i o n f e a t u r e s " s e c t i o n o f
chapter 8) and of the trailer, observing
the recommended pressure. See the "Levels" section of chapter 6.
If the coolant temperature
warning light comes on, stop
the vehicle and switch off the
engine as soon as possible.
Brakes
Towing increases the braking distance.
Drive at a moderate speed, change
down early and brake gradually. Towbar

It is advisable to set t h e A U D I O f u n c t i o n s ( B a s s , T r e b l e , F r o n t - R e a r B a l a n c e , L e f t - R i g h t B a l a n c e ) t o t h e m i d d l e position, select the musical ambience "None" and set the loudness correction to the "Active" position in CD mode or to the "Inactive" position in radio mode.
