The timed duration must
also be set, via the multi-
function display "Person-
alisation-Configuration"
menu. Automatic switching on of the lights
Side lights and dipped beam head-
lamps switch on automatically if the
light is poor, or during operation of the
windscreen wipers. They switch off
as soon as the light becomes bright
enough or the windscreen wipers
stop.
In foggy weather or in snow, the bright-

Therefore, the lights will not come on
automatically. If necessary, you must
switch on the dipped headlamps man-
ually.
This function is active when the vehicle is
supplied to the customer.
To switch the function on
or off, use the multifunction
display "Personalisation-
C o n fi g u r a t i o n " menu.
Activation Deactivation.
When this function is activat-
ed, the indicator light on the
instrument panel comes on. When the function is deacti-
vated, the indicator light on the
instrument panel comes on.
Cancellation:
fl a s h t h e h e a d l a m p s ,
get out of the vehicle and lock it.
Manual "follow-me-home" lighting
In the absence of the automatic switching
on of the lights, the manual "follow-me-
home" lighting can be activated.
When you leave your vehicle, the side
lights and dipped headlamps remain
on for approximately 1 minute.
Activation:
switch off the engine,

get out of the vehicle and lock it.
Deactivation:
fl a s h t h e h e a d l a m p s a g a i n ,
get out of the vehicle and lock it.
If the brightness sensor does not func-
tion correctly , the system activates the
function and the lights come on.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to have
the system checked.
Daytime running lamps *
On vehicles which are equipped with day-
time running lamps, the dipped headlamps
come on when the vehicle is started.
This indicator lamp comes on on
the instrument panel screen.
The instruments and controls
(instrument panel, multifunc-
tion screen, air conditioning
control panel...) are only lit
on switching to the automatic lighting
mode or when the lights are switched
on manually.
* According to country.
The brightness of the display
and of the instrument panel
may change when the lights
are switched on automatically.
If your lights have been
switched on manually, turn the
ring back to position
0 , lights

TOWING A TRAILER,
CARAVAN, BOAT, ETC...
We recommend the use of original
PEUGEOT towbars and their harnesses
which have been tested and approved
from the design stage of your vehicle and

ing the electrical pre-equipment installed
at the rear of the vehicle, in accordance
with the manufacturer's instructions.
Note: in certain cases of par-
ticularly arduous use (towing
the maximum load in high
temperatures on a steep
slope), the engine automatically lim-
its its power and selects the appropri-
ate automatic gearbox gear in manual
mode. In this case, cutting off the air
conditioning allows the engine power
to be recovered, and therefore the
towing capacity to be increased. A u t o m a t i c a d j u s t m e n t
To avoid causing a nuisance to other
road users, this system automatical-
ly corrects the height of the beam of
xenon bulbs in relation to the vehicle
load after approximately 2 minutes.
The driver is then assured of having
optimum lighting.
D r i v i n g a d v i c e
D i s t r i b u t i o n o f l o a d s : distribute the
load in the trailer so that the heavi-
est loads are as close as possible to
the axle and the nose weight is close
to the maximum authorised without,
however, exceeding it.

Tyres: check the tyre pressures of the
towing vehicle (label on the central
door pillar on the driver's side) and of
the trailer towed, observing the recom-
mended pressure.
If the coolant temperature
warning light comes on, stop
the vehicle and switch off the
engine as soon as possible.
I n t h e c a s e o f v e h i c l e s fi t t e d w i t h a n
HDI engine, it is advisable, following
intensive use (towing on a motorway,
prolonged driving, ...), to leave the en-
gine running at idle for approximately
20 seconds before switching off the
ignition. This limits any increase in the
temperature of the engine after it has
been switched off.
In all cases, pay attention to the coolant
temperature.
Brakes: towing increases the braking
distance. Drive at a moderate speed,
change down early and brake gradually.
S i d e w i n d : sensitivity to side wind is
increased. Drive smoothly and at a
moderate speed.
Cooling: towing a trailer on a slope in-
creases the coolant temperature.
As the fan is electrically controlled, its
cooling capacity is not dependent on
the engine speed.
