Fitting a wheel
Position the wheel.
Tighten the bolts by hand.
Partly tighten the bolts using the
wheelbrace.
Fold the jack 2 and remove it.
Fully tighten the bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 .
For vehicles with steel wheels,
r e fi t t h e w h e e l t r i m s t a r t i n g b y p l a c -
ing its notch facing the valve and
press with the palm of the hand.
F o r v e h i c l e s w i t h a l l o y w h e e l s , r e fi t
the covers.
Put the tool holder back in position.
T h i s h e l p s t o k e e p t h e b o o t fl o o r i n
its correct position, to prevent any
d e f o r m a t i o n o f t h e fl o o r w h e n l o a d e d .
Tighten the spare wheel securing
strap to prevent noise and for your

panel:
Reminder: for your safety, always
change a wheel:
- on level, stable, non-slippery ground,
- with the handbrake applied,

w i t h fi r s t o r r e v e r s e g e a r e n g a g e d ( p o -
sition P for the automatic gearbox),
- never go underneath a vehicle
which is supported only by a jack. T y r e u n d e r - i n fl a t i o n d e t e c t i o n
system warning light
T h e s e o r i g i n a l w h e e l s a r e fi t t e d w i t h a
pressure sensor (see paragraph "Tyre
u n d e r - i n fl a t i o n d e t e c t i o n " ) . T h e a l a r m
which detects the removal or absence
o f a w h e e l fi t t e d w i t h t h e i n d i c a t o r
sensor signals the anomaly. Have
the wheel repaired and checked by a
PEUGEOT dealer.
After changing the wheel:
- have the tightening of the bolts and
the tyre pressure of the spare wheel
checked as soon as possible.
- have the punctured wheel repaired a n d r e fi t i t t o t h e v e h i c l e a s s o o n a s
possible.
- have the spare wheel checked and replace it in its boot recess.
Recommendations when using the
temporary spare wheel *
Your vehicle may be equipped with a
spare wheel with a different rim to that
of the standard wheel.
After use, replace it as soon as possible.
Follow the recommendations below
to avoid any alteration in vehicle han-
dling:
-
do not drive above 50 mph (80 km/h) ,
- d o n o t fi t a w h e e l t r i m ,
- drive carefully,
- c h e c k t h e i n fl a t i o n p r e s s u r e i n d i - cated on the label.

CHANGING A FRONT BULB
Handle the bulbs with a dry cloth.
2 - Main beam headlamps: H7-55 W.
Remove the protective cover cor-
responding to the faulty bulb.
Disconnect the connector.
Press the end of the securing clips
to free the bulb. Change the bulb.
W h e n fi t t i n g t h e n e w b u l b , e n s u r e t h a t
the direction notches are positioned
correctly and the securing clips are
fi x e d p r o p e r l y .
Reconnect the connector.
R e fi t t h e p r o t e c t i v e c o v e r .

Direction indicators:
PY 21 W (amber).
Turn the bulb holder a quarter turn
and remove it.
Change the bulb.

Front lights
In the engine compartment, remove
the cover secured by one or two but-
t e r fl y s c r e w s , a p l a s t i c r e t a i n e r c l i p a n d
two quarter turn screws.
1 - Dipped beam headlamps:
H1-55 W or D2S-35 W xenon bulb.
Xenon bulbs must be replaced by a
PEUGEOT dealer. Amber coloured bulbs (direction
indicators and side repeaters)
must be replaced with bulbs
o f i d e n t i c a l s p e c i fi c a t i o n a n d
colour.
5 - Front fog lamps: H11 - 55 W.
Turn the wheels to full lock.
A c c e s s t o t h e b u l b i s v i a t h e fl a p i n t h e
f r o n t m u d fl a p .
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
T h e h e a d l a m p s a r e fi t t e d w i t h p o l y c a r -
bonate glass with a protective coating.
Do not clean them with a dry or abra-
sive cloth, nor with a detergent or sol-
vent product.
E n s u r e t h a t t h e l i q u i d u s e d t o fi l l t h e
wash-wipe and headlamp wash reser-
voir is of good quality.
High pressure washing :
when using a high pressure
washer on stubborn dirt, do
not persist on the headlamps,
the lights and their periphery to avoid
damaging their coating and their seal.
In certain climatic conditions (low tem-
perature, humidity), condensation on
the inside surface of the headlamp
glass and rear lights glass is normal;
it disappears a few minutes after the
lights are switched on.
3 - Side lights: W 5 W.
Remove the protective cover, dis-
connect the connector and then
remove the bulb and change it.
Put the connector back in place.
Reconnect the connector.

Third brake light:
Five W 5 W bulbs.
Remove the plastic cover carefully
by unclipping it at the centre and
on either side, perpendicular to its
direction of engagement.
Press on the two tabs located at
the rear, near the rear screen.
Pull the red transparent cover out-
wards while maintaining the pressure
on the tabs.
Change the faulty bulb.
W h e n r e fi t t i n g , e n s u r e t h a t t h e
tabs of the red transparent cover
are engaged correctly and that the
upper trim has been put back in
place correctly.
S c r e w o n t h e l i g h t fi x i n g n u t s i n -
side the boot using the towing eye,
i f n e c e s s a r y . W h e n r e fi t t i n g , e n -
sure that the light is positioned and
fi x e d c o r r e c t l y .
Reconnect the connector.
Number plate lights:
W 5 W.
Remove the transparent cover using
a screwdriver blade.
Change the faulty bulb.
Push the repeater forwards or
backwards and release it.
Unclip the repeater and change it.
Repeaters can be obtained from
PEUGEOT dealers.
Amber coloured bulbs (direction indi-
cators and side repeaters), must be
replaced with bulbs of identical speci-
fi c a t i o n a n d c o l o u r .
1. Direction indicators:
PY 21 W (amber).
2. Reversing lights: P21 W.
3. Fog lamps/side lights:
P21/4 W.
4. Side lights: P21/4 W.
5. Brake lights/side lights: P21/4 W.
Disconnect the connector.
U n s c r e w t h e l i g h t fi x i n g n u t s i n -
side the boot using the towing eye
(stored inside the spare wheel), if
necessary.
Remove the seal.
Unclip the bulb holder moving
aside the 5 tabs.
Unscrew the bulb and change it.
Lock the bulb holder in place.
Reposition the seal.

CHANGING A REAR BULB (407 SW)
Left and right fog lamps:
P21 W.
Carefully unclip the tailgate interior
trim.
Detach the sealing sheet located
behind the light concerned.
Remove the bulb holder turning it a
quarter of a turn.
Change the faulty bulb.
W h e n r e fi t t i n g , e n s u r e t h a t t h e b u l b i s
positioned correctly in the bulb holder.
Unclip the light (2 clips).
Disconnect the connector and re-
move the light.
Unclip the bulb holder moving
aside the 4 tabs.
Unscrew the bulb and change it.
Reconnect the connector.
Lock the bulb holder in place.
W h e n r e fi t t i n g i t , e n s u r e t h a t t h e
lamp is correctly positioned and
secured, reclipping the rear part
then the front part.
Number plate lights:
W 5 W.
Insert a thin screwdriver in one of
the exterior holes of the transpar-
ent cover.
Push it towards the outside to un-
clip it.
Remove the transparent cover.
Change the faulty bulb. Third brake light (diodes)
All work on the diode lights must be
carried out by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Wing lights
1. Brake lights/side lights:
P21/5 W.
2. Reversing lights:
P21 W.
3. Direction indicators:
P21 W.
These three bulbs are changed by
removing the light.
Remove the corresponding boot
s i d e fl a p t o g a i n a c c e s s t o t h e
light.
R e m o v e t h e l i g h t fi x i n g n u t i n s i d e
the boot.
Note: if necessary, use the wheelbrace
to remove the nuts. In some climatic conditions
(e.g. low temperature or hu-
midity), the presence of misting
on the internal surface of the
glass of the headlamps and rear lamps
is normal; it disappears after the lamps
have been on for a few minutes.

CHANGING A FUSE
The fuse boxes are placed in the lower
part of the fascia (passenger side in
the glove box) and in the engine com-
partment (left-hand side). Fascia fuses
To access the fuses, open the glove box. Open the fuse box co
ver by pressing the
two tabs at the top.
Replacing a fuse
Before replacing a fuse, the cause of
the incident must be found and recti-
fi e d . T h e f u s e n u m b e r s a r e i n d i c a t e d
on the fuse box. Always replace a faulty fuse
with a fuse of the same rating
(same colour).
Use the special pliers located
on the support next to the fuse box,
this support also contains the replace-
ment fuses.
