Manual gearbox Refer to the servicing booklet

Brake pads Brake wear depends on the
style of driving, particularly in
the case of vehicles used in
town, over short distances. It
may be necessary to have the
condition of the brakes checked, even
between vehicle services.
Unless there is a leak on the circuit, a
drop in the brake fl uid level indicates
that the brake pads are worn. Brake disc wear status
For any information relat-
ing to checking of the brake
disc wear status, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer.
Handbrake If the handbrake travel is too
long or if you notice a loss
of effectiveness of this sys-
tem, the handbrake must
be adjusted, even between
two services.
This system must be checked by a
PEUGEOT dealer.
Only use products recommended by
PEUGEOT or products of equivalent
quality and specifi cations. In order to optimise the opera-
tion of units as important as
the braking system, PEUGEOT
selects and offers very specifi c
products.
To avoid damaging the electrical
units, the use of a high pressure
washer in the engine compart-
ment is strictly
prohibited .

Parking the vehicle
Immobilise the vehicle where it
does not block traffi c: if possible,
park the vehicle on level, stable
and non-slippery ground.
Apply the handbrake, switch
off the ignition and engage fi rst
gear to lock the wheels.
If necessary, place a chock under
the wheel diagonally opposite the
wheel to be changed.
Never go underneath a vehicle
raised using a jack; use a stand.
Removing the wheel
List of operations

 If your vehicle is equipped with one
(equipment available as an acces-
sory) fi t the anti-theft socket 5 on
the wheelbrace 1 to unlock the anti-
theft bolt.

 Unlock the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.

 Place the jack 2 in contact with one
of the two front A or rear B locations
provided on the underframe, which-
ever is closest to the wheel to be
changed.

 Extend the jack 2 until its base plate
is in contact with the ground. Ensure
that the centreline of the jack base
plate is directly below the location A
or B used.

 Raise the vehicle until there is suffi -
cient space between the wheel and
the ground to admit the spare (not
punctured) wheel easily.

 Remove the bolts and store them in
a clean place.

 Remove the wheel.

Rear lights

1. Third brake light (diodes).

2. Brake lights/Side lights
(21/5 - W21W - 5 W).

3. Direction indicators (WY21W - 21 W).

4. Reversing lights (W21W - 21 W).

5. Number plate lights (W5W - 5W).

6. Fog lamps (W21W - 21 W). Changing the brake lights/side
lights and direction indicators
These two bulbs are changed from out-
side with the tailgate open:

 Open the tailgate (refer to the "Ac-
cess" section),

 Remove the two light fi xing bolts A ,

 Extract the light from outside,

Turn the pin C to the left and remove it.

 Pull the bulb D and change it.
To refi t, carry out these operations in
reverse order.

 Turn the pin B to the left and remove it.

 Pull the bulb and change it. When refi tting the light, align the two
pins
E with the openings on the vehicle.
Amber coloured bulbs, such as
the direction indicators, must be
replaced with bulbs of identical
specifi cation and colour.
Changing the third brake light
(diodes)
All work on the diode lights must be car-
ried out by a PEUGEOT dealer.

Fascia fuses
The fuse boxes are placed in the lower
part of the fascia behind the glove box.
Access to the fuses

 Open the glove box,

 Push the two opening guides A in-
wards to pass the fi rst notch,

 Remove the retaining tab B pulling
it outwards,

 Support the cover and tilt it down-
wards,

 Change the fuse (refer to the cor-
responding paragraph).

Changing the language,
programming the voice
Changing the language of the voice
commands
By default, the recognition system is in
English. Programming the user's voice
You can use the user's voice program-
ming function to create a voice model
for one person per language.
The characteristics of your voice and
your pronunciation are recorded in this
model for improved voice recognition.
It is essential that the vehicle is parked in a
safe place, with the handbrake applied.
Switch off your telephone during the
process to avoid any interruption.
1 - Press the SPEAK button. 5 - The system says the fi rst of 45 typi-
cal phrases.
If you do not start the program-
ming process within approxi-
mately 3 minutes after pressing
the SPEAK button, the process
is cancelled.
If you press the SPEAK button
within 5 seconds following the
reading of a voice command,
the recording of this command
is repeated.
1 - Press the SPEAK button.
2 - Say "Setup".
3 - Say "Language".
5 - Say the language of your choice in English, example:
say "French" for French.
7 - Say "Yes" to start the change of language process or say
"No" to return to steps 4 to 7. 2 - Say "Word training".
4 - When you are ready to start, press and hold the SPEAK
button. 6 - Repeat each phrase in the
table on the next page.
The system records your voice
and moves on to the recording of the
next command.
Continue the process until all of the
phrases have been recorded.
4 - The system says "Select a language: English, Spanish, French, German
or Italian".
6 - The system then says "French se- lected. Is this correct?"
8 - The system repeats the language chosen and completes the change
of language process. 3 - An explanation message is given. 7 - After reading all the voice com-
mands, the system says "The word
enrolment is complete" and ends the
process.

Matching your Bluetooth®

telephone
The system can register up to 7 Blue-
tooth ®
compatible mobile telephones.
The telephone which has the highest level
of priority is matched automatically.
It is absolutely essential that the vehicle
is parked in a safe place with the hand-
brake applied.
1 - Press the SPEAK button.
7 - Say a 4-digit number which will be recorded as the match-
ing code. 12 - After the audible signal, allo-
cate a name to the telephone
by saying the name of your
choice.
13 - The system says "Allocate an order of priority between 1 and 7. One is
the highest level of priority".
If the system does not detect the
Bluetooth ®
compatible mobile
telephone, the matching proc-
ess stops accompanied by an
audible signal.
If you select a level of priority
which has already been allo-
cated to another telephone, the
system asks you if you wish to
replace this level of priority.
Remember this matching code as
you must enter it in the telephone
in one of the following steps of
the matching procedure.
9 - The system says "Start the matching procedure on the telephone. Con-
sult the instructions in the telephone
manual".
2 - Say "Confi gure".
3 - Say "Matching options".
5 - Say "Match a telephone". 8 - The system confi rms the va-
lidity of the number spoken,
answer "Yes". Say "No" to re-
turn to step 7.
10 - Consult your mobile tele- phone's user manual and
enter the matching code
recorded in step 7 in the
telephone. 14 - Say a number between 1 and
7 to establish the level of pri-
ority of the mobile telephone.
15 - The system says and confi rms the and the
of its priority.
16 - Answer or say to return to step 13.
17 - The systems says "Matching complete" then emits an au-
dible signal and deactivates
the voice recognition.
4 - The system says "Do you wish to
match a telephone, delete a tele-
phone or obtain the list of matched
telephones?".
6 - The systems says "Please say the 4 digits of a matching code". If the code is incorrect, the sys-
tem locks. To clear the code:
- check that the telephone's
voice recognition is not acti-
vated,
- with the ignition on and the audio system active, press
the HANG UP button for
2 seconds, 3 times in suc-
cession.
11 - When it detects a Bluetooth ®
com-
patible mobile telephone, the system
says "Please say the name of the tel-
ephone after the bleep".
