tions ,thereby causing an accident. Replace
the wiper blades twice ayear, ideall yinspring

The wiper arm scould star tmoving and cause
an injury if yo uleave the windscreen wipers
switched on.
Remove the key from the ignition lock before
replacing the wiper blades.
! To avoid damaging the windscreen wiper
blades, make sure that yo utouch only the
wiper arm of the windscreen wiper. To remove
X Remove the key from the ignition lock or
turn the key to position 0(KEYLESS-GO).
X Fol dthe wiper arm away from the wind-
screen unti litengages.
X Set the wiper blad eatright angle stothe
wiper arm. X
Remove the wiper blad efrom the retainer
on the wiper arm in the direction of the
arrow. Fitting
X Slide the new wiper blad einto the retainer
on the wiper arm in the opposite direction
to the arrow.
X Turn the wiper blad eparalle ltot he wiper
arm.

Position jack 008Aat jacking point 0047. X
Make sure that the base of the jack is posi-
tioned directly under jacking point 0047.
X Turn crank 0088until the tyre is raised amax-
imum of 3cmfrom the ground. X
Unscrew the uppermost wheel bolt com-
pletely.
X In place of the wheel bolt, screw centring
pin 0086from the vehicle tool kit into the
thread.
X Unscrew the remaining wheel bolts fully. !
Do not place wheel bolts in sand or dirt.
The threads of the wheel bolts and wheel
hubs could otherwise be damaged when
the bolts are tightened.
X Remove the wheel.

Replace damaged or corroded wheel bolts.
Never oil or grease wheel bolts. This could
cause the bolts to loosen in the wheel hub. G

If aw heel hub thread is damaged, you must
not drive the vehicle any further .Consult a
qualified specialist workshop which has the
necessary specialist knowledge and tools to
carry out the work required. Mercedes-Benz
recommends that you use aMercedes-Benz
Servic eCentre or Servic e24h for this pur-
pose. In particular, work relevant to safety or
on safety-related systems must be carried out
at aq ualified specialist workshop. G
Risk of accident
Only use wheel bolts that have been designed
for the wheel and the vehicle. For safety rea-
sons, Mercedes-Benz recommends that you
only use wheel bolts which have been
approved for Mercedes-Benz vehicles and the
respective wheel. Other wheel bolts could
work loose or damage the brake system.
Do not tighten the wheel bolts completely
while the vehicle is still jacked up. The vehicle
could topple off the jack.

Risk of injury
There is ariskofa cidb urns whe njump-start-

from the battery .Donot lean over the battery
while the engine is being jump-started. G
Risk of explosion
Gases escaping from the battery during jump-
starting may cause mino rexplosions. Avoid
creating sparks. Kee pnaked flames away
from the battery ,and do not smoke.
Compl ywiths afety precautions and take pro-
tective measures whe nhandling batteries. You will find these under "Battery

X Make sure that the two vehicle sdonot
touch.
X Appl ythe parking brake firmly.
X Manual transmission: engage neutral.
X Automatic transmission*: shift the trans-

X Switch off al lelectrical consumers (e.g.
radio, blower, etc.).

the direction of the arrow .
X Connect positive terminal 0047on your vehi-
cle to positive terminal 008Aof dono rbattery
0087 using the jump lead ,beginning with your
ow nb attery.
X Start the engine of the dono rvehicle and
run it at idling speed.
X Connect negative terminal 0088of dono rbat-
tery 0087to earth point 0086of your vehicle
using the jump lead ,connecting the jump
lead to dono rbattery 0087first.
X Start the engine. X
First, remove the jump lead from earth
point 0086and negative terminal 0088,then
from positive terminal 0047and positive ter-
minal 008A,eacht ime disconnecting from the
battery on your ow nvehicle first.
X Have the battery checke dataqualified
specialist workshop, e.g. aMercedes-Benz

ing can be moved and is not locked.

smoothly. If the tractiv epower is too high,

doubt, recover the vehicl ewithac rane.
! Youm aytow the vehicl efor am aximum
of 50 km. Atowing spee dof50k m/h must
not be exceeded.
For towing distances ove r50km, the entire
vehicl emustbel ifted up and transported. !
On vehicles with KEYLESS-GO *, usethe
key instea dofthe Start/Stop button. Turn
the key to position 2in the ignition lock and
shift the automatic transmission to N.Then
tur nthe key back to 0and leav eitinthe
ignition lock.
! Onlysecur ethe tow cable or towing bar
to the towing eyes .You could otherwise
damage the vehicle.

If the boiling point of the brake fluid is too low,
vapou rpockets may form in the brake system
whe nthe brakes are applie dhard( e.g .when
driving downhill) .Thisw ould impai rbraking
efficiency.
Have the brake fluid renewed every two years
with abrake fluid that ha sbeena pproved by
Mercedes-Benz and have this confirmed in
the Service Booklet.
The warranty is only valid if yo uhavet he vehi-
cle topped up with an antifreeze/corrosion
inhibitor which ha sbeena pproved by
Mercedes-Benz.
