To cancel the Panic Mode, press and release the PANIC
button on the transmitter a second time, after five sec-
onds. Panic Mode will automatically cancel after three
minutes, or if the vehicle is started and exceeds 15 mph
(24 km/h). During the Panic Mode, the door locks and
RKE systems will function normally. Panic Mode will not
disarm the Vehicle Security Alarm System on vehicles so
equipped.
Programming Additional RKE Transmitters
Refer to “Sentry KeyProgramming” under “Sentry
Key” in this section.
If you do not have a programmed RKE transmitter,
contact your authorized dealer for details.

1. Weak batteries in RKE transmitter. The expected life of

tower, airport transmitter, and some mobile or CB radios.

•The best protection against carbon monoxide entry
into the vehicle body is a properly maintained engine
exhaust system.
Be aware of changes in the sound of the exhaust system,
exhaust fumes detected inside the vehicle, or damage to
the underside or rear of the vehicle. Have a competent
mechanic inspect the complete exhaust system and adja-
cent body areas for broken, damaged, deteriorated or
mispositioned parts. Open seams or loose connections
could permit exhaust fumes to seep into the passenger
compartment. In addition, inspect the exhaust system
each time the vehicle is raised for lubrication or oil

Heater Defroster Ducts
Inspect the heater defroster ducts for proper operation.
Check for proper airflow through all defroster ducts. If
there is any question regarding the operation of your
heater defroster ducts, have the system checked by an
authorized dealer
Seat Belts
Inspect the seat belt system periodically, checking for
cuts, frays and loose parts. Damaged parts must be
replaced immediately. Do not disassemble or modify the
system.
Seat belt assemblies must be replaced after an accident if
they have been damaged (bent retractor, torn webbing,
etc.) or if the front airbags have deployed. If there is any
question regarding seat belt or retractor condition, re-
place the seat belt.

BluetoothCommunication Link
Cellular phones have been found to lose connection to
the UConnect system. When this happens, the connec-
tion can generally be re-established by switching the
phone off/on. Your cellular phone is recommended to
remain in Bluetooth ON mode.
Power-Up
After switching the ignition key from OFF to either the
ON or ACC position, or after a language change, you
must wait at least five seconds prior to using the system.

Change the seat angle by using the two toggle switches,
tilting it up or down.
Heated Seats — If Equipped
The heated seat switches are located in the instrument
panel under the climate controls.Press the switch once for High heat. Press the switch a
second time for Low heat. Pressing the switch a third
time will turn the heated seats Off.
The heaters will operate for approximately 30 minutes
and automatically change to the next lower level, or Off.

Turn Signals
Move the lever up or down to signal a right-hand or
left-hand turn.
The arrow on either side of the instrument cluster flashes
to indicate the direction of the turn, and proper operation
of the front and rear turn signal lights. If a defective bulb
or wiring circuit is detected for the turn signal system, the
arrow indicators will flash at a faster rate. If an indicator
fails to light when the lever is moved, it would suggest
that the switch or indicator lamp is defective.
You can signal a lane change by moving the lever
partially up or down.
Turn Signal Auto-Mode
Tap the multifunction lever once and the turn signal (left
or right) will flash three times, and automatically turn off.

This display shows the distance traveled since the last
reset. Resetting of this screen will cause the trip odometer
to change to zero.
Elapsed Time (ET)
This display shows the accumulated ignition ON time
since the last reset. Resetting the elapsed time will cause
the display to change to zero.
C/T Button
Use this button to select a readout of the outside tem-
perature and one of eight compass headings that indicate
the direction in which the vehicle is facing.

button down for a period of six seconds. The odometer
will change to trip value first, then it will display the
engine hour value. The engine hours will be displayed
for a period of 30 seconds until the ignition is turned off
or the engine is started.
Change Oil Message
Your vehicle is equipped with an engine oil change
indicator system. The “Change Oil” message will flash in
the instrument cluster odometer for approximately
12 seconds after a single chime has sounded to indicate
the next scheduled oil change interval. The engine oil
change indicator system is duty cycle based, which
means the engine oil change interval may fluctuate
dependent upon your personal driving style.
Unless reset, this message will continue to display each
time you turn the ignition switch to the ON/RUN
position. To turn off the message temporarily, press and
release the Trip Odometer button on the instrumentcluster. To reset the oil change indicator system (after
performing the scheduled maintenance) refer to the fol-
lowing procedure.
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. (Do not
start the engine.)
2. Fully depress the accelerator pedal slowly three
times within 10 seconds.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF/LOCK position.
NOTE: If the indicator message illuminates when you
start the vehicle, the oil change indicator system did not
reset. If necessary repeat this procedure.
