This indicator alerts you that the
passenger’s f ront airbag has been
shut of f because weight sensors
detect about 65 lbs (29 kg) or less
(the weight of an inf ant or small
child) on the f ront passenger’s seat.
It does there is a problem
with the airbag.Be aware that objects placed on the
f ront seat can cause the indicator to
come on.

seat, the airbag will be automatically
shut of f . However, the indicator will
not come on.

the total weight on the seat is near
the airbag cutof f threshold.
If the indicator comes on with no
f ront seat passenger and no objects
on the seat, or with an adult riding
there, something may be interf ering

Together, airbags and
seat belts provide the best
protection.
Tampering could cause
the airbags to deploy, possibly
causing very serious injury.
If water or
another liquid soaks into a seat-
back, it can prevent the side airbag
cutof f system f rom working
properly. Improperly replacing
or covering f ront seat-back covers
can prevent your side airbags f rom
inf lating during a side impact. This could make the
driver’s seat position sensor or the
f ront passenger’s weight sensors
inef f ective. If it is necessary to
remove or modif y a f ront seat to
accommodate a person with
disabilities, f irst contact Acura

This indicator monitors the
temperature of the automatic
transmission f luid. If it comes on
while driving, it means the
transmission fluid temperature is too
high. Pull to the side of the road
when it is saf e, shif t to Park, and let
the engine idle until the indicator
goes out.
You will also see a ‘‘CHECK
EMISSION SYSTEM’’ message on
the multi-information display. For
more information, see page .
The engine can be severely damaged
if this indicator f lashes or stays on
when the engine is running. For
more inf ormation, see page . You will also see a ‘‘CHECK
TRANSMISSION’’ message on the
multi-inf ormation display (see page). This indicator comes on f or several
seconds when you turn the ignition
switch to the ON (II) position. If it
comes on at any other time, it
indicates a potential problem with
your f ront airbags. This indicator will
also alert you to a potential problem
with your side airbags, passenger’s
side airbag automatic cutoff system,
automatic seat belt tensioners, side
curtain airbags, driver’s seat position
sensor, and the f ront passenger’s
weight sensors. You will also see a
‘‘CHECK AIRBAG SYSTEM’’

Do not put any heavy items on the
seat-back when it is folded down.
Make sure all items in the cargo area
are secured. Loose items can f ly
f orward and cause injury if you have
to brake hard (See
on page ).
Make sure that the f olded down rear
seat does not interf ere with the f ront
passenger’s seat-back. This will
cause the f ront passenger’s weight
sensors and the f ront passenger’s
seat belt reminder indicator to work
improperly (see pages and ).
Also check the passenger airbag of f
indicator to assure proper operation
of the passenger’s front airbag. After returning the seat-back to the

Proper use of the climate control
system can make the interior dry
and comfortable, and keep the
windows clear f or best visibility.
For the climate control system to
provide heating and cooling, the
engine must be running.
You can adjust the temperatures of
thedriver’ssideandthepassenger’s
side independently (see page ). The automatic climate control
system adjusts the f an speed and
airflow levels to maintain the interior
temperature you select.
Set the desired temperature by
pushing the driver’s side
temperature control buttons ( or
). The selected temperature will
show in the display.
The system automatically selects the
proper mix of conditioned and/or
heated air that will, as quickly as
possible, raise or lower the interior
temperature to your pref erence.
When you push the passenger’s side
temperature control buttons, the
indicator in the DUAL button comes
on and the driver’s side and
passenger’s side temperature can be
controlled independently (see page ).
The climate control system f or your
vehicle can also be operated by voice
control. See the navigation section in
your quick start guide f or an
overview of this system, and the
navigation system manual f or
complete details. In AUTO mode, the vehicle’s interior
temperature is independently
regulated f or the driver and
passenger, based on inputs f rom
sunlight and temperature sensors
(see page ). If one side of the
vehicle is getting too much sun, the
system lowers the temperature only
on that side.
Press the AUTO button. You will
see AUTO on the display. The
indicator in the button also comes
on as a reminder.
