The air conditioning system
does not contain chlorine and
does not present any danger
to the ozone layer. RECOMMENDATIONS FOR VENTILATION AND AIR CONDITIONING
In order for these systems to be fully effective, follow the operation and mainte-
nance rules below:
If the interior temperature remains very high after the vehicle has been
parked in the sun for a considerable time, do not hesitate t o ventilate the
passenger compartment for a few minutes.
P l a c e t h e a i r fl o w c o n t r o l a t a s u f fi c i e n t l e v e l t o p r o v i d e a n a d e q u a t e r e n e w a l
of air in the passenger compartment.
To obtain an even air distribution, take care not to obst ruct the exterior air
intake grilles located at the base of the windscreen, the n ozzles, the vents
and the air outlets, as well as the air extractor located in the boot.
Favour the intake of exterior air as prolonged use of the a ir recirculation may
cause misting of the windows and side windows.
Do not cover the sunshine sensor, located on the fascia; th is is used for
regulation of the automatic air conditioning system.
Operate the air conditioning system for 5 to 10 minutes, on ce or twice a
month to keep it in perfect working order.

To guarantee correct operation of the air conditioning syste m, you are also
advised to have it checked regularly.
If the system does not produce cold air, do not use it and contact a PEUGEOT
dealer.
When towing the maximum load on a steep gradient in high temperatures,
switching off the air conditioning permits the recovery of engi ne power and
therefore improvement of the towing capacity.
The condensation created by the air conditioning results in a discharge of water
under the vehicle which is perfectly normal.

Temperature related comfort is no long-

Coupling with the automatic
"Follow-me-home" lighting
Association with the automatic lighting
provides the "follow-me-home" lighting
with the following additional options:
- selection of the duration of maintaining
of the lighting for 15, 30 or 60 seconds
in the vehicle parameters on the multi-
f u n c t i o n d i s p l a y c o n fi g u r a t i o n m e n u ,
- automatic activation of "follow-me- home" lighting when automatic lighting
is in operation.
Automatic lighting
The side lights and dipped headlamps
are switched on automatically, without
any action on the part of the driver,
when a low level of external light is de-
tected or in certain cases of activation
of the windscreen wipers.
As soon as the brightness returns to a
s u f fi c i e n t l e v e l o r a f t e r t h e w i n d s c r e e n
wipers are switched off, the lights are
switched off automatically.
Activation
Turn ring A to the "AUTO" position.
The automatic lighting is accom-
panied by a message on the multi-
function display.
Deactivation
Turn ring A to a position other than
"AUTO" . Deactivation is accom-
panied by a message on the multi-

road users, the height of the halogen
headlamps should be adjusted in rela-

The windscreen wipers operate auto-
matically, without any action on the part
of the driver, if rain is detected (sensor
b e h i n d t h e i n t e r i o r m i r r o r ) , a d a p t i n g t h e i r
speed to the intensity of the rainfall.
Activation
This is controlled manually by the driver by
pushing lever A to the "AUTO" position.
It is accompanied by a message on the
multifunction display. In the minute following switching off
of the ignition, any action on the stalk
positions the wipers in the centre of the
windscreen.
This action enables you to position the
wiper blades for winter parking, clean-
ing or replacement.
To park the wipers after this has been
done, switch on the ignition and operate
the stalk.
Do not cover the rain sensor,
linked with the brightness sen-
sor and located in the centre
of the windscreen behind the interior
mirror.
Switch off the automatic wiping when
using an automatic car wash.
In winter, it is advisable to wait until
the windscreen is completely clear
of ice before activating the automatic
wiping. The automatic wiping must be
reactivated if the ignition has
been off for more than one
minute, by pushing lever A down-
wards.
Switching off
This is controlled manually by the driver
by moving lever A upwards and return-
ing it to position "0" .
It is accompanied by a message on the
multifunction display. Operating fault
If an automatic wiping malfunction oc-
curs, the wipers will operate in intermittent
mode.
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.
For optimum and lasting

blades, it is advisable to:
- handle them with care,
- clean them regularly using soapy water,
- change them approximately every 6 months,
- avoid using them to retain card- board on the windscreen.

TYRE UNDER-INFLATION DETECTION
System which automatically checks the
pressure of the tyres while driving. All repairs and changing of
t y r e s o n a w h e e l fi t t e d w i t h t h i s
system must be carried out by
a PEUGEOT dealer.
If, when changing a tyre, you install
a wheel which is not detected by
y o u r v e h i c l e ( e x a m p l e : fi t t i n g o f s n o w
tyres), you must have the system
reinitialised by a PEUGEOT dealer.
This system does not eliminate
the need to have the tyre pres-
sure checked regularly (refer to
t h e " I d e n t i fi c a t i o n f e a t u r e s " p a r a g r a p h )
to ensure that the optimum dynamic
performance of the vehicle is main-
tained and prevent premature wear of
the tyres, particularly in arduous driving
conditions (heavy load, high speed).
The tyre pressures must be checked
cold, at least once a month. Re-
member to check the pressure of the
spare wheel.
T h e t y r e u n d e r - i n fl a t i o n d e t e c t i o n
system may experience temporary
interference due to radioelectric
emissions on a frequency close to
that used by the system.

(speed above 12 mph (20 km/h)).

This warning light is displayed
on the instrument panel and/or

Check the tyre pressures as soon as
possible.
This check must be carried out when
the tyres are
cold.
Flat tyre The
STOP warning light
comes on, accompanied by
an audible signal and a mes-
sage on the multifunction
display locating the wheel
concerned.
Stop immediately, avoiding any sud-
den movement of the steering wheel
and the brakes.
Change the damaged wheel (punc-
t u r e d o r v e r y d e fl a t e d t y r e ) , a n d
have the tyre pressure checked as
soon as possible.
Puncture
T h e t y r e u n d e r - i n fl a t i o n d e t e c -
tion system is an aid to driv-
ing which does not replace the
need for the driver to be vigilant or to
drive responsibly. Sensor(s) not detected or faulty
A message appears on the multifunction
display, accompanied by an audible sig-
nal, to locate the wheel or wheels which
are not detected or to indicate a fault in
the system.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to replace
the faulty sensor(s).
This message is also dis-
played when one of the wheels
is away from the vehicle (being
repaired) or when one or more wheels
w i t h o u t a s e n s o r a r e fi t t e d .

Activation
Deactivation
Press button 1 to deactivate the sys-
tem, the indicator light switches off.
Reactivation
Press button 1 again to reactivate
the system.
The last value programmed is retained and the indicator light comes on.

tem checked by a PEUGEOT
dealer.
Operating limits
The system switches to standby auto-
matically if the sensor does not detect
t h e v e h i c l e i n f r o n t c o r r e c t l y ( v e r y d i f fi -
cult weather conditions, sensor misad-
justed, ...). A message is displayed on
the multifunction display.
The vehicle being followed may not be
detected in certain conditions such as,
for example:
- when turning,
- when changing lane,
- when the vehicle in front is either too far ahead (maximum range of
the sensor: 100 m) or stationary (in
a t r a f fi c j a m , . . . ) .
When the vehicle being followed is ex-
cessively near (time between the two
vehicles less than 0.5 seconds), the dis-
p l a y r e m a i n s fi x e d a t 0 . 5 s e c o n d s .
Programming the alert value
Select the alert value required using
button 2 , in steps of 0.1 second:
- up to increase: "+",
- down to decrease: "-".
Example with a value of 2 seconds:
This system is not an anti-collision
radar and it does not act of the move-
ment of your vehicle. It is informative
and cannot, in any circumstances,
take the place of the vigilance and
responsibility of the driver.
Press button 1 , the indicator light
comes on.
The system is activated but will only ope-
rate from 45 mph (70 km/h).
The alert value can be programmed to
between 0.9 second and 2.5 seconds.
The visual alert can be deactivated by
programming a value of 0 second. When the time (in seconds) between
your vehicle and the vehicle in front is
less than the programmed time (alert
v a l u e ) , a v i s u a l a l e r t fl a s h e s .
A safety time of 2 seconds is
recommended in normal driv-
ing conditions (correct traction
and speed) to avoid a collision
in the event of emergency
braking.
