ACCESS
Deactivating the rear window and
door switches
For the safety of your children, press
switch 5 to prevent operation of the
rear windows irrespective of their
position.
With the lamp on, the rear controls are
disarmed.
With the lamp off, the rear controls are
activated.
This control also deactivates the
interior rear door controls (see
"Child safety - § Electronic child
safety"). Reinitialisation
In the event of a malfunction you have
to reinitialise the operation of the elec-
tric windows:
release the switch and pull it again
until the window closes completely,
hold the switch for approximately
one second after closing,
press the switch to lower the window
automatically.
The safety anti-pinch function is not
active during these operations. Always remove the key from the
ignition when leaving the vehicle,
even for a short time.
In the event of contact during op-
eration of the windows, reverse
the movement of the window.
To do this, press the switch con-
cerned.
When the driver operates the
passenger electric window
switches, they should ensure
that no one is preventing correct
closing of the windows.
The driver should ensure that
passengers use the electric
windows correctly.
Be aware of children when oper-
ating the windows.

ADVICE ON CHILD SEATS
The incorrect installation of a child
s e a t i n a v e h i c l e c o m p r o m i s e s t h e
c h i l d ' s p r o t e c t i o n i n t h e e v e n t o f a n
accident.
R e m e m b e r t o f a s t e n t h e s e a t b e l t s o r
the child seat harnesses keeping the
s l a c k r e l a t i v e t o t h e c h i l d ' s b o d y t o a
m i n i m u m , e v e n f o r s h o r t j o u r n e y s .
When installing a child seat using the
seat belt, ensure that the seat belt is
tightened correctly on the child seat
a n d t h a t i t s e c u r e s t h e c h i l d s e a t fi r m l y
on the seat of your vehicle.
F o r o p t i m u m i n s t a l l a t i o n o f t h e " f o r -
wards-facing" child seat, ensure that
the back of the child seat is in contact
w i t h t h e b a c k o f t h e v e h i c l e ' s s e a t
and that the head restraint does not
c a u s e a n y d i s c o m f o r t .
I f t h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t h a s t o b e r e m o v e d ,
ensure that it is stored or attached se-
c u r e l y t o p r e v e n t i t f r o m b e i n g t h r o w n
around the vehicle in the event of
sharp braking. As a safety precaution, do not leave:
- o n e o r m o r e c h i l d r e n a l o n e a n d
unsupervised in a vehicle,
- a c h i l d o r a n a n i m a l i n a v e h i c l e w h i c h i s e x p o s e d t o t h e s u n , w i t h
the windows closed,
- the keys within reach of children inside the vehicle.
To prevent accidental opening of the
doors and rear windows, use the
"Child lock".
Take care not to open the rear windows
b y m o r e t h a n o n e t h i r d .
T o p r o t e c t y o u n g c h i l d r e n f r o m t h e
r a y s o f t h e s u n , fi t s i d e b l i n d s o n t h e
rear windows.
C h i l d r e n u n d e r t h e a g e o f 1 0 m u s t
not travel in the "forwards-facing"
position on the front passenger seat,
unless the rear seats are already oc-
cupied by other children, cannot be
used or are absent.
Deactivate the passenger airbag
when a "rearwards-facing" child seat
is installed on the front seat.
O t h e r w i s e , t h e c h i l d w o u l d r i s k b e i n g
seriously injured or killed if the airbag
w e r e t o i n fl a t e .
Installing a booster seat
T h e c h e s t p a r t o f t h e s e a t b e l t m u s t
b e p o s i t i o n e d o n t h e c h i l d ' s s h o u l d e r
without touching the neck.
Ensure that the lap part of the seat
b e l t p a s s e s c o r r e c t l y o v e r t h e c h i l d ' s
thighs.

MANUAL CHILD LOCK
M e c h a n i c a l s y s t e m t o p r e v e n t o p e n i n g
of the rear door using its interior control.
The control is located on the edge of
each rear door.
Locking
Turn the red control one quarter of
a turn to the right using the ignition
key.
Unlocking
Turn the red control one quarter of
a turn to the left using the ignition
key.

The control is located:

Check the status of the child lock

Side airbags
S y s t e m w h i c h p r o t e c t s t h e d r i v e r a n d
f r o n t p a s s e n g e r i n t h e e v e n t o f a s e r i -

of injury to the chest.
Each side airbag is built into the seat
backrest frame, door side.
Activation
The side airbags are triggered unilater-

z o n e B , p e r p e n d i c u l a r t o t h e l o n g i t u d i n a l

wards the inside of the vehicle.

Curtain airbags

Operating fault
I f t h i s w a r n i n g l a m p c o m e s o n
o n t h e i n s t r u m e n t p a n e l , a c c o m -
p a n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e s i g n a l a n d
a message on the multifunction
screen, contact a CITROËN dealer to
have the system checked. The airbags
may no longer be triggered in the event
o f a s e r i o u s i m p a c t .
I n t h e e v e n t o f a m i n o r i m p a c t o r
b u m p o n t h e s i d e o f t h e v e h i c l e
or if the vehicle rolls over, the air-
bag may not be triggered.
In the event of a rear or front colli-
sion, the airbag is not triggered.

Charging the battery using a
battery charger
Disconnect the battery from the ve-
hicle.
Follow the instructions for use pro-
vided by the manufacturer of the
charger.
Reconnect starting with the nega-
t i v e t e r m i n a l ( - ) .
Check that the terminals and connec-
tors are clean. If they are covered with
s u l p h a t e ( w h i t i s h o r g r e e n i s h d e p o s i t ) ,
remove them and clean them.
It is advisable to disconnect
the battery if the vehicle is to
be left unused for more than
one month. Do not disconnect the terminals
while the engine is running.
Do not charge the batteries with-
out disconnecting the terminals
fi r s t .
Batteries contain harmful sub-
stances such as sulphuric acid and
lead. They must be disposed of in
accordance with regulations and
must not, in any circumstances, be
discarded with household waste.
Take used remote control bat-
teries and vehicle batteries to a
special collection point.
Before disconnecting the battery
Wait 2 minutes after switching off
the ignition before disconnecting
the battery.
Close the windows and the
doors before disconnecting the
battery.
