Pre-tune keys 1-6
Select the FM1 or FM2 or RDS 1 or 2 tuning range.
•Tuning into a station:
When the frequency tuned for a particular range, for instance: 1, is
alreadyregistered in a pre-tuning key, the relevantnumber for that
pre-tune keywillbe displaye
d on the screen.
•Storing a pre-tuned station in memory:
Press the keywhere you wish to register that station untilyou hear
the confirmation signal.
•Call up of a memorized programme:
Brieflypress the releva
ntpre-tune key.
Memorycontentsisnotlost even if the setisremoved from the
mains.

Switching to traffic announcements
When TP (TrafficProgramme) isdisplayed on screen the setis
readyto receive trafficconditionsannouncementsin any operation
mode.
Switching on the TP
Brieflypress the TP key. "TP" willbe displayed on screen. If the
statio
n tuned doesn’tprovide thisservice the setwillsearch
automaticallyfor the next available station.
The trafficannouncements are played back at a minimum pre-set
volume. In the "PROG-System" advanced mode you can change the
minimum volume. After
the trafficannouncementyou willcontinue
listening to the previouslyselected source atwhatever volume you
had set.
Ifgeneralvolume is set at "VOL 00" you willonlylisten to traffic
announcements.

volume with the main control

Switching off the TP
To switch off the function brieflypress the "TP" key.
If the trafficannouncements’ station tuned by you cannot be
listened to properly the setwillautomaticallystartsea
rching for
another station ofits classwith better tuning. Ifyou have selected
in the PROG "LEARN ON" mode "LRN..." willbe displayed on
screen.

Types of programmes (PTY). Only in RDS mode
If the stationsprovide the RDS 1 or 2 range the PTYservice (PTY=
Programme Type).

Waiting intervals
In order to avoid code deactivation with the test and error
procedure, we have introduced a waiting intervalof one hour after
everyfaulty try. During thisperiod we can switch the set on and off
butitwill remain silent.
During the w
aiting intervalthe setmustremain on. Untilthe
intervaltime isnot over "2 SAFE" isdisplayed on the screen. After
thistime the next trynumber willbe displayed, for instance: "2
1000".

New start up
If the car audio setisremoved from the battery, for example,
during a workshop service, and coding is active, the setwillbe
electronicallyblocked.1. Switch on the set.
"SAFE" isbrieflydisplayed, and then "1000".
2. Enter the code number (from the Radio Card
). See chapter
"Code Activation".
3. Confirm the code number by pressing the SCAN keyuntilyou
hear the confirmation signaland "SAFE" isbrieflydisplayed.

Should you enter a wrong number you willstillsee "SAFE"
displayed, the audio will not sound. Startallover again. Make
sure you observe the waiting intervals between tries.

Radio Data System (RDS)
The RDSisan information system whose signalsare broadcast by
lots of stationsapartfrom the FM radio programmes.
Programme Service
On the RDS programmesyou can see the radio station name
displayed, for instance: Flash FM at 105.7 on your dial.
Bear in mind that the RDS programmesmight have various
regionalprogrammes and differentstation names.Enhanced Other Network (EON)
Thisfunction allowsyou to listen to the trafficannouncementsin
the RDS 1 and 2 ranges, even ifyou are tuned
into a RDS
programme withouttrafficannouncements’ service and aslong as
the radio station selected has other RDS programme with traffic
announcements.
The availability to broadcast trafficannouncementsin RDS
prog
rammeswith EON workswhen "TP" is activated on the screen
and you are listening to the tuned RDS programme. Activate/
deactivate TP by pressing the TP key

Radio reception conditions
During travelreception conditionsare constantlychanging.
Mountains, buildings, or bridgesmaydifficultreception. This
happens speciallywhen you are far away from the station.
