DRIVING
CRUISE CONTROL
System which automatically maintains
the speed of the vehicle at the value
programmed by the driver, without any
action on the accelerator pedal.
The cruise control is switched on
manually: it requires a minimum vehicle
speed of 25 mph (40 km/h) and the en-
gaging:
- o f f o u r t h g e a r o n t h e m a n u a l g e a r b o x ,
- of second gear on the piloted manual g e a r b o x o r a u t o m a t i c g e a r b o x , i n
sequential driving mode,
- of position A on the piloted manual
g e a r b o x o r D on the automatic
g e a r b o x . The controls of this system are grouped
together on lever

The cruise control cannot, in any
circumstances, replace the need
to respect speed limits, nor can it
replace the need for vigilance and
responsibility on the part of the
driver.
The cruise control is
switched off man-
ually or by pressing the brake or clutch
pedal or on triggering of the ESP system
for safety reasons.
I t i s p o s s i b l e t o e x c e e d t h e p r o g r a m m e d
speed temporarily by pressing the ac-
celerator pedal.
To return to the programmed speed,
simply release the accelerator pedal.
Switching off the ignition cancels any
programmed speed value.

CHANGING A WHEEL
The tools are installed in the boot under
t h e fl o o r .
To gain access to them:
open the boot,
r a i s e t h e fl o o r ,
secure it by hooking its cord on the
hook on the rear shelf support,
r e m o v e t h e p o l y s t y r e n e s t o r a g e b o x ,
u n c l i p a n d r e m o v e t h e b o x c o n t a i n i n g
the tools. A l l o f t h e s e t o o l s a r e s p e c i fi c t o y o u r
vehicle. Do not use them for other
purposes.
1. Wheelbrace.
Permits removal of the wheel trim a n d r e m o v a l o f t h e w h e e l fi x i n g
bolts.
2. Jack with integral handle.
Permits raising of the vehicle.
3. "Bolt cover" tool.
Permits removal of the bolt protectors (covers) on alloy
wheels.

When removing the wheel, detach

pulling at the valve passage hole.

trim starting by placing its notch fac-
ing the valve and press around its
edge with the palm of your hand.

5. Socket for the anti-theft bolts

Procedure for changing a
faulty wheel for the spare
wheel using the tools pro-
vided with the vehicle.
The tools 1 and 6 are installed in the
boot left-hand side trim.
The tools 2 to 4 a r e i n s t a l l e d i n a b o x ,
in the centre of the spare wheel, placed
underneath the vehicle.
To gain access to them:
open the boot,
o p e n t h e a c c e s s fl a p i n t h e l e f t - h a n d
side trim,
remove the wheelbrace from its
support,
refer to the paragraph "Access to
t h e s p a r e w h e e l " o n t h e n e x t p a g e
to retrieve the other tools.

Fixing the steel or "space-
saving" type spare wheel
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a l l o y
wheels, it is normal to notice, when
t i g h t e n i n g t h e b o l t s o n fi t t i n g , t h a t t h e
washers do not come into contact
with the steel or "space-saving" type
spare wheel. The wheel is secured
by the conical contact of each bolt.
Access to the spare wheel
The spare wheel is installed in the boot
u n d e r t h e fl o o r .
According to country, the spare wheel may
be steel, alloy or of the "space saving"
type.
To gain access to it, refer to the paragraph
"Access to the tools" on the previous
page.
Taking out the wheel
Unscrew the yellow central bolt.
Raise the spare wheel towards you
from the rear.
Take the wheel out of the boot.
Putting the wheel back in place
Put the wheel back in its housing.
Unscrew the yellow central bolt by a
few turns then put it in place in the
centre of the wheel.
Tighten fully until the central bolt
clicks to retain the wheel correctly.
P u t t h e b o x b a c k i n p l a c e i n t h e
centre of the wheel and clip it.
P u t t h e p o l y s t y r e n e s t o r a g e b o x
back in place.

Fixing the steel or "space-
saving" type spare wheel
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a l l o y
wheels, it is normal to notice, when

winch system underneath the vehicle.
According to country, the spare wheel may
be steel, alloy or of the "space-saving"
type.
Taking out the wheel
O p e n t h e fl a p w i t h t h e e y e t o r e l e a s e
the winch and access its control
nut.
Unscrew this nut fully, using the
wheelbrace 1 , to unwind the winch
cable.
D e t a c h t h e w h e e l / b o x a s s e m b l y
from the rear of the vehicle.
Take out the hook to release the
w h e e l / b o x a s s e m b l y , i n a c c o r d a n c e
with the illustration.
Take out the black plastic centring
cone.
Take out the wheel to gain access to
t h e b o x .
S l i d e t h e b o x c o v e r t o t h e c e n t r e
and remove it to gain access to the
other tools.

Putting the wheel back in place
Store the corresponding tools in the
b o x a n d c l o s e t h e c o v e r .
P o s i t i o n t h e b o x o n t h e g r o u n d a n d
centre the spare wheel on it.
Position the black plastic centring
cone (on the steel or "space-saving"
type wheel only).
P a s s t h e h o o k i n t o t h e b o x c o v e r .
R a i s e t h e w h e e l / b o x a s s e m b l y
underneath the vehicle by tightening
the winch control nut using the
wheelbrace 1 .
Tighten fully and check that the
w h e e l i s h o r i z o n t a l l y fl u s h a g a i n s t
t h e fl o o r .
C l o s e t h e fl a p w i t h t h e e y e t o l o c k
the winch.
T y r e u n d e r - i n fl a t i o n d e t e c t i o n
T h e s p a r e w h e e l i s n o t fi t t e d w i t h
a sensor. The punctured wheel
must be repaired by a PEUGEOT
dealer. If you purchase a wheel of uniform
size to replace the "space-saving"
type spare wheel, the shim, locat-
ed underneath the vehicle, must
be removed. Consult a PEUGEOT
dealer.

Parking the vehicle
Immobilise the vehicle where it
d o e s n o t b l o c k t r a f fi c : t h e g r o u n d
must be level, stable and non-slip-
pery ground.
Apply the handbrake, switch off the
i g n i t i o n a n d e n g a g e fi r s t g e a r * t o
lock the wheels.
If necessary, place a chock under
the wheel diagonally opposite the
wheel to be changed.
It is imperative that you ensure that
the occupants get out of the vehicle
and wait where they are safe.
Never go underneath a vehicle
r a i s e d u s i n g a j a c k ; u s e a n a x l e
stand.
Removing the wheel
List of operations
Remove the chromed bolt cover from
each of the bolts using the tool 3 .
Fit the anti-theft socket 5 on the
wheelbrace 1 to unlock the anti-theft
bolt.
Unlock the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
Place the jack 2 in contact with one
of the two front A or rear B locations
provided on the underframe,
whichever is closest to the wheel to
be changed.
E x t e n d t h e j a c k 2 until its base plate
is in contact with the ground. Ensure
that the centreline of the jack base
plate is directly below the location A
or B used.
Raise the vehicle until there is
s u f fi c i e n t s p a c e b e t w e e n t h e w h e e l
and the ground to admit the spare
(not punctured) wheel easily.
Remove the bolts and store them in
a clean place.
Remove the wheel.

After changing a wheel
To store the punctured wheel in the
b o o t c o r r e c t l y , fi r s t r e m o v e t h e c e n t r a l
cover.
When using the "space-saving"
t y p e s p a r e w h e e l , d o n o t e x c e e d
50 mph (80 km/h).
Have the tightening of the bolts and
the pressure of the spare wheel
checked by a PEUGEOT dealer
without delay.
Have the punctured wheel repaired
and replace it on the vehicle as
soon as possible.
Fitting the wheel
List of operations
Put the wheel in place on the hub
using the centring guide 4 .
Screw in the bolts by hand to the
stop.
Pre-tighten the anti-theft bolt using
the wheelbrace 1 fi t t e d w i t h t h e a n t i -
theft socket 5 .
Pre-tighten the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
Lower the vehicle fully.
Fold the jack 2 and detach it.
Lock the anti-theft bolt using the
wheelbrace 1 fi t t e d w i t h t h e a n t i -
theft socket 5 .
Lock the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
R e fi t t h e c h r o m e d b o l t c o v e r s o n
each of the bolts.
