KEYS
The keys allow you to switch on the
ignition and independently operate
the passenger air bag disarming
switch and the steering lock. Locating your vehicle
To locate your vehicle, if you have
locked it, in a car park:
F
press button A, the courtesy
lights come on and the direction
i n d i c a t o r s l a s h f o r a f e w
seconds.
Changing the remote control
battery
Battery ref.: CR2016 / 3 volts.
W a r n i n g t h a t t h e b a t t e r y i s l a t i s
given by an audible signal accompa-
nied by the message "Remote con-
trol battery low" on the multifunction
display.
To replace the battery, remove the
screw then unclip the casing using a
coin at the ring.
If the remote control does not work
after the battery has been changed,
reprogramme the remote control.
Key in ignition
A buzzer sounds on opening the dri-
ver's door, if the key has been left in
the ignition. Programming the remote
control
F
Switch off the ignition.
F Switch the ignition on again.
F Press button A immediately for a
few seconds.
F Switch off the ignition and
remove the remote control
key from the ignition lock. The
remote control is now working
again.
Without central
locking / unlocking by
hand
The keys also allow you to unlock/
lock the front doors, the boot and the
f u e l i l l e r c a p .
With central locking /
unlocking
The keys allow you to lock or unlock
all of the doors and the tailgate, from
the front doors.
If one of the doors or the tailgate is
open, the central locking does not
work. With central locking /
unlocking via the remote
control
Press button
A to lock the vehicle.

t h e d i r e c t i o n i n d i c a t o r s f o r a p p r o x i -
mately two seconds.
Press button B to unlock the vehicle.
T h i s i s c o n i r m e d b y t h e r a p i d l a s h -
ing of the direction indicators.
Avoid pressing the buttons of your
remote control out of range of your
vehicle. You risk causing it not to
work and the remote control would
then have to be reprogrammed (see
corresponding section).

Opening the doors from
inside Locking / Unlocking from
inside
"Door open" warning
With the engine running, you are
warned if a door is not shut properly
by an audible signal and a message
or graphic on the multifunction dis-
play, indicating the door in question.
When the vehicle is moving , if the
courtesy light button is in the "light-
ing on opening a door" position, the
c o u r t e s y l i g h t l a s h e s .
Without central locking
To lock, press button
A. The button
locks the door in question.
The button on the driver's door locks
the door and the tailgate.
To unlock, pull button A or operate
the handle. With central locking
Press button
B to lock/unlock.

LOCKING / UNLOCKING THE
TAILGATE
Without central locking
To lock, turn the key from A to C.
To open, turn the key from A to B,
press the handle then lift the tail-
gate.
TAILGATE RELEASE
This enables the tailgate to be un-
locked in the event of a central lock-
ing fault:
- Fold back the rear seats to gain access to the boot from inside
the vehicle,
- Pull the tailgate trim to release it,
- Pull the opening catch 1 upwards.
"Boot open" warning
If the tailgate is not shut properly:
- with the engine running , you
are warned by an audible signal
and a message or graphic on the
multifunction display,
- when the vehicle is moving ,
t h e c o u r t e s y l i g h t l a s h e s i f t h e
courtesy light button is in this
position.
With central locking
Locking and unlocking of the tailgate
is simultaneous with the doors.
The lighting is activated on open-
ing the tailgate.

With the key in the accessories or ig-
nition on position, turn button B to the
left or to the right.

The athermic windscreen has two
n o n - r e l e c t i v e z o n e s l o c a t e d e i t h e r
side of the base of the interior mirror.
T h e y a r e i n t e n d e d f o r a f i x i n g t o l l
cards and/or car park tickets.
SUN VISOR
T h e s u n v i s o r s a r e i t t e d w i t h a v a n i t y
m i r r o r , w i t h a c o n c e a l i n g l a p o n t h e
driver's side.
Permanently off.
Permanently on when the
key is in the accessories po-
sition or with the ignition on.
Front courtesy light (button A)
In this position, it comes on
for about 30 seconds:
- on unlocking the vehicle,
- when opening a door,
- when opening the tailgate and the rear screen (206 SW),
- on switching off the ignition.
It switches off on locking the vehicle.
