Central STOP
warning light
This comes on for a few
seconds each time the ig-
nition is switched on.
Linked to the warning lights:
- "engine oil pressure and temperature",
- "punctured wheel",
- "maximum coolant temperature",
- " h a n d b r a k e " , " l o w b r a k e fl u i d level", and "electronic brake
force distribution".

warning light
This comes on for a few seconds each
time the ignition is switched on.
Linked to the central STOP warning
light.
If this warning light comes on, with
the engine running, it indicates one
of the following:
- i n s u f fi c i e n t o i l p r e s s u r e ,
- a lack of oil in the lubrication circuit. Top up the level,
- an oil temperature which is too high. The warning light is accom-
panied by an audible signal. To
lower the oil temperature, reduce
your speed.

S e r v i c e w a r n i n g l i g h t
This comes on for a few sec-
onds each time the ignition is
switched on.
If this warning light comes on, with the en-
gine running, accompanied by an audible
signal and a message on the multifunc-
tion display, it indicates the occurrence of
a problem in one of the systems which
d o e s n o t h a v e a s p e c i fi c w a r n i n g l i g h t .
Consult the message on the multi-
function display to identify the system
concerned.
Check:
- the remote control battery,
- the pressure of the tyres,
- the engine oil level,
- the screenwash level,
- the condition of the bulbs.
For all other cases, contact a PEUGEOT
dealer.
The lighting of this warning light may
also indicate the start of saturation of
t h e p a r t i c l e e m i s s i o n fi l t e r ( D i e s e l ) ,
due to exceptionally prolonged urban
driving conditions: low speed, long
t r a f fi c j a m s , . . .
I n o r d e r t o r e g e n e r a t e t h e fi l t e r , y o u
are advised to drive, as soon as traf-
fi c c o n d i t i o n s p e r m i t , a t a s p e e d o f
35 mph (60 km/h) or more for at least
fi v e m i n u t e s ( u n t i l t h e w a r n i n g l i g h t
switches off).
If the warning light remains on, contact
a PEUGEOT dealer.

warning light
This comes on for a few sec-
onds each time the ignition is
switched on.
Linked to the central STOP warning
light.
If this warning light comes on while
the vehicle is moving, it indicates that
one or more wheels are punctured.
It is accompanied by an audible signal
and a message on the multifunction
display locating the wheel concerned.

abnormal increase in the tempera-
ture of the coolant.

This comes on for a few seconds each
time the ignition is switched on.
If the warning light remains on or
comes on above 8 mph (12 km/h),

( E S P / A S R ) w a r n i n g l i g h t
This comes on for a few seconds each
time the ignition is switched on.
While the engine is running and the
v e h i c l e i s m o v i n g , i t fl a s h e s i f t h e
system is activated.
It comes on permanently when it is
disarmed.
B a t t e r y c h a r g e w a r n i n g
light
This comes on for a few
seconds each time the ignition is
switched on.
If it comes on, with the engine run-
ning, it indicates one of the following:
- faulty operation of the charging circuit,
- slack battery or starter terminals,
- a cut or slack alternator belt,
- an alternator failure.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.

onds each time the ignition is

If this warning light comes on, with

- that the handbrake is applied or not fully released, if the vehicle is
moving,
- a n e x c e s s i v e d r o p i n b r a k e fl u i d level (if the warning light remains
on even when the handbrake is
released),
- a fault in the Electronic Brake Force Distribution.

Consult a PEUGEOT dealer. However, the vehicle retains conven-
tional servo-assisted braking.
Lighting of this warning light, accom-
panied by an audible signal, indicates
an ABS fault.

ELECTRONIC ENGINE IMMOBILISER
This locks the engine control system
a few moments after the ignition has
b e e n s w i t c h e d o f f a n d t h e r e f o r e p r e -
v e n t s s t a r t i n g o f t h e v e h i c l e b y a n y -
one who does not have the key.
The ignition key has an electronic
chip which has a special code. When
the ignition is switched on, the code is
recognised and starting is possible.
If the system does not function
correctly, the service warning light
comes on, accompanied by an
audible signal and a message on the
multifunction display.
In this case, your vehicle will not
start. Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as
soon as possible.
Lost keys
Visit a PEUGEOT dealer with the
v e h i c l e ’ s V 5 r e g i s t r a t i o n c e r t i fi c a t e
a n d y o u r p e r s o n a l i d e n t i fi c a t i o n d o c u -
ments.
A PEUGEOT dealer will be able to
r e t r i e v e t h e k e y c o d e a n d t h e t r a n s -
ponder code required to order a
replacement key.
Programming the remote
control
Following changing of the remote
control battery or disconnection of
the vehicle battery, the remote control
must be reprogrammed.
Wait at least one minute before
using the remote control.
Switch on the ignition.
Press button B or C for at least
fi v e s e c o n d s w i t h i n t h e n e x t t e n
seconds.
Switch off the ignition.
Wait at least one minute before
using the remote control.
The remote control is now working
again.
Changing the remote control
battery
Battery ref.: CR1620/3 volts.

To replace the battery, unclip the
casing using a coin at the notch.

Selection of the type of

Unlock the doors using the key.
Open the door.
The alarm is triggered.
Switch on the ignition.
The electronic engine immobiliser
system recognises the key.
The siren stops and the alarm is
disarmed.

Press the unlocking button on the
remote control.

The red indicator light on the switch
1 goes out. Work on the battery
The alarm must not be set when the
battery is disconnected. Otherwise,
the siren will sound.
After reconnecting the battery:
- l o c k o r d e a d l o c k , t h e n u n l o c k
the vehicle using the remote
control,
- t h e a l a r m w i l l b e o p e r a t i o n a l again the next time the vehicle
is locked or deadlocked.
To set the alarm to external
protection only
If you want to leave a window partially
open, or a pet inside the vehicle, you
need to select external protection
only:
- s w i t c h o f f t h e i g n i t i o n ,
- w i t h i n t h e n e x t t e n s e c o n d s ,
press the control button 1 until
the warning light comes on
continuously,
- g e t o u t o f t h e v e h i c l e ,
- l o c k o r d e a d l o c k t h e v e h i c l e ,
- t h e d i r e c t i o n i n d i c a t o r s l i g h t f o r two seconds,
- t h e r e d i n d i c a t o r l i g h t o n t h e switch 1 fl a s h e s o n c e a s e c o n d .

TAILGATE
Tailgate release
This enables the tailgate to be
unlocked in the event of a central
locking fault.
- F o l d b a c k t h e r e a r s e a t s t o g a i n access to the lock from inside
the boot,
- I n s e r t a s m a l l s c r e w d r i v e r i n t o hole A of the lock to unlock the
tailgate.
"Tailgate open" warning
In this case, or following reconnection
of the battery, with the doors open, it
may be necessary to close the doors
manually, in order to reinitialise them,
and start the engine. If the tailgate is not closed
properly, you are warned:
- with the engine running , by
l i g h t i n g o f t h e " d o o r o p e n " w a r -
ning light, accompanied by a
m e s s a g e d i s p l a y e d b r i e fl y o n t h e
multifunction display.
- when the vehicle is moving , by
l i g h t i n g o f t h e " d o o r o p e n " w a r -
ning light, accompanied by an
audible signal and a message
d i s p l a y e d b r i e fl y o n t h e m u l t i -
function display.
T h e t a i l g a t e l o c k s a u t o m a t i -
cally when the vehicle speed
reaches 6 mph (10 km/h).
It unlocks when one of the
doors is opened if the speed is below
3 mph (5 km/h) or when the central
locking button on the centre console
is pressed.
When the door has stopped in an
intermediate position (neither fully
open nor fully closed), only the
remote control or the controls per-
mit electric operation of the door.
When closing requests are made
when the door is in a partially open
position, the door may open slightly
before closing.
When closing a door electrically when
the battery is low, you are advised to
guide the door manually. Recharge
the battery as soon as possible.
If the electric controls (remote control
or controls) no longer operate, reini-
tialise the door(s) as follows:
1. Start the engine.
2. Manually open the door(s) fully.
3. Close the door(s) fully.
On completion of this procedure,
electric operation of the doors is
restored.
However, if a problem persists
following this procedure, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer. Simultaneous locking or
unlocking of the tailgate and the
doors
The tailgate is locked or unlocked by
the remote control or from the driver’s
door lock.
To open, press the control
1 and lift
the tailgate.
