ELECTRONIC ENGINE IMMOBILISER
This locks the engine control system
a few moments after the ignition has
b e e n s w i t c h e d o f f a n d t h e r e f o r e p r e -
v e n t s s t a r t i n g o f t h e v e h i c l e b y a n y -
one who does not have the key.
The ignition key has an electronic
chip which has a special code. When
the ignition is switched on, the code is
recognised and starting is possible.
If the system does not function
correctly, the service warning light
comes on, accompanied by an
audible signal and a message on the
multifunction display.
In this case, your vehicle will not
start. Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as
soon as possible.
Lost keys
Visit a PEUGEOT dealer with the
v e h i c l e ’ s V 5 r e g i s t r a t i o n c e r t i fi c a t e
a n d y o u r p e r s o n a l i d e n t i fi c a t i o n d o c u -
ments.
A PEUGEOT dealer will be able to
r e t r i e v e t h e k e y c o d e a n d t h e t r a n s -
ponder code required to order a
replacement key.
Programming the remote
control
Following changing of the remote
control battery or disconnection of
the vehicle battery, the remote control
must be reprogrammed.
Wait at least one minute before
using the remote control.
Switch on the ignition.
Press button B or C for at least
fi v e s e c o n d s w i t h i n t h e n e x t t e n
seconds.
Switch off the ignition.
Wait at least one minute before
using the remote control.
The remote control is now working
again.
Changing the remote control

Battery ref.: CR1620/3 volts.

casing using a coin at the notch.

Automatic central locking
The doors can lock automatically
when you are driving (at a speed of
more than 6 mph (10 km/h).
You can activate or deactivate this
function. Driving with the doors locked
may make access to the
passenger compartment by
the emergency services more
d i f fi c u l t i n a n e m e r g e n c y .
Activation
With the ignition on, press and hold
button A .
A c t i v a t i o n o f t h e f u n c t i o n i s a c c o m -
panied by an audible signal and a
message on the multifunction display.
Deactivation
With the ignition on, press and hold
button A .
Deactivation of the function is
accompanied by an audible signal
and a message on the multifunction
display.
"Door open" alert -
when the vehicle is moving,
by lighting of the "door open"
warning light, accompanied by
an audible signal and a message
on the multifunction display for a
few seconds.
Opening/Closing using the
remote control
Press button C or D to open or close
the left or right door.
The opening and closing of the
door is accompanied by an audible
signal.
2nd press on button C or D during
opening/closing interruption of the
movement.
3rd press on button C or D m o v e -
ment of the door in the opposite
direction.
You are advised to use the
r e m o t e c o n t r o l o r t h e c o n -
trols as much as possible.
Opening/Closing from the front
Press switch
B to open or close the
corresponding door.
Choosing the movement of the door
using the controls:
- p u l l opens the door,
- p u s h closes,
- s e c o n d p r e s s stops the
movement,
- t h e c o n t r o l s d o n o t f u n c t i o n above 3 mph (5 km/h).
If a door or the boot is not
closed properly, you are
warned:
- when the engine is running,
by lighting of the "door open"
warning light, accompanied by
a message on the multifunction
display for a few seconds.

General
recommendations
Always check that it is safe to operate
the door and be sure, in particular, not
to leave children or animals near the
door controls without supervision.
W h e n o p e n i n g t h e d o o r , w i t h t h e w i n -
dow open, ensure that no person,
animal or object is hanging through
the window.
Before any opening or closing and
during any movement of the doors,
ensure that no person, animal or
object is preventing the required
manoeuvre, either inside or outside
the vehicle.
It is imperative that the doors are
o p e - r a t e d o n l y w h e n t h e v e h i c l e i s
stationary.
For your safety and for that of your
p a s s e n g e r s , a s w e l l a s f o r c o r r e c t o p e -
ration of the doors, you are strongly
advised not to drive with a door open.
The audible warning, the lighting of
the "door open" warning light and the
message on the multifunction display
are there to remind you.
Lock your vehicle when using an
automatic carwash. The doors and the overall
dimensions of the vehicle
Safety/Obstacle detection
The obstacle detection system is
triggered when an obstacle of a
certain physical resistance hinders
the movement of the door.

TAILGATE
Tailgate release
This enables the tailgate to be
unlocked in the event of a central
locking fault.
- F o l d b a c k t h e r e a r s e a t s t o g a i n access to the lock from inside
the boot,
- I n s e r t a s m a l l s c r e w d r i v e r i n t o hole A of the lock to unlock the
tailgate.
"Tailgate open" warning
In this case, or following reconnection
of the battery, with the doors open, it
may be necessary to close the doors
manually, in order to reinitialise them,
and start the engine. If the tailgate is not closed
properly, you are warned:
- with the engine running , by
l i g h t i n g o f t h e " d o o r o p e n " w a r -
ning light, accompanied by a
m e s s a g e d i s p l a y e d b r i e fl y o n t h e
multifunction display.
- when the vehicle is moving , by
l i g h t i n g o f t h e " d o o r o p e n " w a r -
ning light, accompanied by an
audible signal and a message
d i s p l a y e d b r i e fl y o n t h e m u l t i -
function display.
T h e t a i l g a t e l o c k s a u t o m a t i -
cally when the vehicle speed
reaches 6 mph (10 km/h).
It unlocks when one of the
doors is opened if the speed is below
3 mph (5 km/h) or when the central
locking button on the centre console
is pressed.
When the door has stopped in an
intermediate position (neither fully
open nor fully closed), only the
remote control or the controls per-
mit electric operation of the door.
When closing requests are made
when the door is in a partially open
position, the door may open slightly
before closing.
When closing a door electrically when
the battery is low, you are advised to
guide the door manually. Recharge
the battery as soon as possible.
If the electric controls (remote control
or controls) no longer operate, reini-
tialise the door(s) as follows:
1. Start the engine.
2. Manually open the door(s) fully.
3. Close the door(s) fully.
On completion of this procedure,
electric operation of the doors is
restored.
However, if a problem persists
following this procedure, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer. Simultaneous locking or
unlocking of the tailgate and the
doors
The tailgate is locked or unlocked by
the remote control or from the driver’s
door lock.
To open, press the control
1 and lift
the tailgate.

Remove the cap and attach it to
the clip located on the inside of
t h e fl a p .
A l a b e l o n t h e i n s i d e o f t h e fl a p
indicates which type of fuel to use.
I f y o u fi l l y o u r t a n k , d o n o t c o n t i n u e
a f t e r t h e t h i r d c u t - o f f o f t h e p u m p
nozzle. This could result in vehicle
malfunctions.
The capacity of the tank is appro-
ximately 9 gallons (40 litres).
A f t e r fi l l i n g t h e t a n k , l o c k t h e c a p
a n d c l o s e t h e fl a p .
You have enough fuel left to cover
approximately 30 miles (50 km).
The electric opening of the
l e f t - h a n d d o o r i s i n h i b i t e d

open.
The key cannot be removed from the
c a p ’ s l o c k u n t i l t h e c a p i s r e fi t t e d o n

These operate with the side lights

Lights on
With the ignition off, a buzzer sounds
when the driver’s door is opened, if
you have left your lights on.
If the dipped headlamps remain
on, with the ignition off, they will be
switched off automatically after thirty
minutes maximum to prevent dis-
charging of the battery.
This can only operate with the dipped
and main beam headlamps.
