If "OIL" fl a s h e s a n d t h e s e r v i c e w a r n -
ing light comes on, accompanied by
an audible signal and a message on
the multifunction display, this indicates
a lack of oil which could damage the
engine.
I f t h e l a c k o f o i l i s c o n fi r m e d b y a
check using the dipstick, it is essential
that the level is topped up.
E n g i n e o i l l e v e l i n d i c a t o r
When the ignition is switched on, the
engine oil level is indicated for approxi-
mately 5 seconds after the service indi-
cator display.
O i l l e v e l g a u g e f a u l t
Check the oil level using the dipstick.
If "OIL --" fl a s h e s , t h i s i n d i c a t e s a
malfunction of the engine oil level
gauge.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
INSTRUMENT PANEL DISPLAY
After switching on the ignition, three
functions are shown in succession:
- service indicator,
- engine oil level indicator
- total distance recorder (total and trip distances).
The level read on the dipstick
will only be correct if the
vehicle is on level ground
and the engine has been off
for more than 15 minutes.
O i l l e v e l c o r r e c t
N o t e : the trip distance is displayed
for thirty seconds, when the ignition is
switched off, on opening and closing
the driver's door as well as on locking
the vehicle.
It also displays the "2 Tronic" gear-
box positions and operating modes
selected, as well as the information
relating to the cruise control or speed
limiter when one of these functions is
active.

If there is an operating fault,
when reverse gear is enga-
ged, the service warning
light comes on, accompa-
nied by an audible signal
( s h o r t b l e e p ) a n d a m e s s a g e
on the multifunction display.
In bad or wintry weather, ensure that
the sensors are not covered with
mud, frost or snow.
Deactivation
With the engine running, press button A
to deactivate the system permanently.
The indicator light on the button comes
on.
The system will be deactivated
automatically when towing a trailer or
w h e n a b i c y c l e c a r r i e r i s fi t t e d ( v e h i c l e
fi t t e d w i t h a t o w b a r o r b i c y c l e c a r r i e r
recommended by PEUGEOT ).
Reactivation
Press button A again to reactivate
the system. The indicator light on the
button is switched off.
