HEATER CONTROLLER
.
The features of the heater controller described below
have been designed for better appearance, easier
operation, and enhanced visibility.
•Each dial for the air outlet switching, fan volume
control, and temperature adjustment has been
enlarged to enhance operability.
•Ring lights have been adopted to inside the dials
to enhance appearance during nighttime.
-
cles with automatic A/C>
•AUTO and OFF positions of the fan volume con-
trol dial have been exchenged with one another.
This change prevents the dial to pass the AUTO
position when the fan volume control is turned
OFF, and eliminates the necessity of manual
reselection when switching the inside/outside air
selection manually, thus enhancing the operabil
-
ity.
•When the air outlet switching dial and fan volume
control dial are turned to the AUTO position, the
A/C switch has been made to automatically turn
ON to enhance convenience. (Using the custom
-
ize function, this function can be cancelled. Refer
to
P.55-7.)

GENERATOR CONTROL
MULTIPORT FUEL SYSTEM (MFI)13A-51
GENERATOR CONTROLM2132025000172
During engine idle operation, ECM controls duty of
conduction between generator G terminal and
ground. (G terminal duty is controlled to be the same
as ON duty of the power transistor inside the voltage
regulator). If headlights etc. are turned on while
engine is idling, the consumed current increases
suddenly, but by gradually increasing the generator G terminal OFF duty, ECM restricts sudden increase
in generator's output current and output current is
increased only gradually. (Battery current is supplied
to the headlamp etc. till generator produces sufficient
current.) Thus, ECM prevents change in idle speed
due to sudden increase of engine load.

CONSTRUCTION DESCRIPTION
FOUR-WHEEL ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (4ABS)35B-6
CONSTRUCTION DESCRIPTION
SENSORM2351001000494
Wheel speed sensor
The wheel speed sensor is a kind of a pulse genera-
tor. It consists of the magnetic encoder for wheel
speed detection (a plate on which north and south
pole sides of the magnets are arranged alternately)
which rotates at the same speed of the wheel and
the wheel speed sensor (semiconductor sensor).
This sensor outputs frequency pulse signals in pro
-
portion to the wheel speed.
The front wheel speed sensor consists of the front
wheel speed sensor mounted on the knuckle and the
magnetic encoder for wheel speed detection which is
press-fitted together with the oil seal to the front
wheel bearing. The rear wheel speed sensor con
-
sists of the rear wheel speed sensor mounted on the
trailing arm assembly and the magnetic encoder for
wheel speed detection which is press-fitted together
with the oil seal to the rear wheel bearing.
ACTUATORSM2351002000356
ABS warning light, Brake warning light
The ABS system informs the driver of the ABS sys-
tem status by illuminating, extinguishing, or flashing
the ABS warning light and brake warning light as fol
-
lows.
ABS warning light
•Turns ON when a system malfunction occurs.
Brake warning light
•Turns ON when an EBD system malfunction
occurs.
NOTE: .
•Turns ON when the brake fluid level in the
reservoir tank becomes the specified value or
lower.
•Turns ON when the parking brake lever is
pulled and the brake is activated.

NOTE: *:ABS and brake warning lights remain illumi-
nated until the ignition is switched off.
