6 General informationImportant points!Due to the large number of accessory and replacement parts of
different manufactures available in the market, it is not possi-
ble, not only for MITSUBISHI MOTORS, but also a MIT-
SUBISHI MOTORS Authorized Service Point, to check
whether the attachment or installation of such parts affects the
driving safety of your MITSUBISHI-vehicle.
Even when such parts are officially authorized, for example by
a “general operators permit” (an appraisal for the part) or
through the execution of the part in an officially approved man-
ner of construction, or when a single operation permit follow-
ing the attachment or installation of such parts, it cannot be
deduced from that alone, that the driving safety of your vehi-
cles has not been affected.
Consider also that there basically exists no liability on the part
of the appraiser or the official. Only in the case of parts (MIT-
SUBISHI MOTORS original replacement or exchange parts as
well as MITSUBISHI MOTORS genuine accessories) that are
recommended and released by a MITSUBISHI MOTORS
Authorised Service Point and that are attached or installed by a
MITSUBISHI MOTORS Authorized Service Point can you
assume, that optimal safety has been provided. The same also
pertains to modifications of MITSUBISHI vehicles with
respect to the production specifications. For your own safety, in
such cases as well, you should only undertake modifications
according to the recommendations of a MITSUBISHI
MOTORS Authorized Service Point.
Modification/alterations to the electrical or
fuel systems

MITSUBISHI MOTORS has always manufactured safe, high
quality vehicles. In order to maintain this safety and quality, it
is important that any accessory that is to be fitted, or any modi-
fications carried out which involve the electrical or fuel sys-
tems, should be carried out in accordance with MITSUBISHI
MOTORS guidelines.
CAUTION
!●If the wiring interferes with any part of the vehicle
body work or improper installation methods are
used, i.e. protective fuses not installed, etc., elec-
tronic devices may be adversely affected, possibly
resulting in an electrical fire or other failures that
may cause an accident.

4. Firmly insert the retainer (C) into the groove (D) in the
wiper blade.
Refer to the illustration to ensure that the retainers are cor-
rectly aligned as you insert them into the groove.NOTE●If a retainer is not supplied with the new wiper blade, use
the retainer from the old blade.

Fuel, engine coolant, oil and exhaust gas leakageLook under the body of your vehicle to check for fuel, engine
coolant, oil and exhaust gas leaks.Exterior and interior lamp operationOperate the combination lamp switch to check that all lamps
are functioning properly.
If the lamps do not illuminate, the probable cause is a blown
fuse or defective lamp bulb. Check the fuses first. If there is no
blown fuse, check the lamp bulbs.
For information regarding the inspection and replacement of
the fuses and the lamp bulbs, refer to “Fuses” on page 8-33 and
“Replacement of lamp bulbs” on page 8-43.
If the fuses and bulbs are all OK, we recommend you to have
your vehicle checked and repaired.

!●If you see a suspicious fuel leak or if you smell fuel,
do not operate the vehicle; we recommend you to
call for assistance.

The fuse links will melt to prevent a fire if a large current
attempts to flow through certain electrical systems.
In case of a melted fuse link, we recommend you to have your
vehicle inspected.

Fuse load capacityThe fuse capacity and the name of the electrical systems pro-
tected by the fuses are indicated at the fuse box lid (LHD vehi-
cles) or the personal box (RHD vehicles) and on the inside of
the fuse block cover for fuses located in the engine compart-

●Some fuses may not be installed on your vehicle, depend-
ing on the vehicle model or specifications.
●The table above shows the main equipment corresponding
to each fuse.
The fuse box does not contain spare 7.5 A, 10 A and 15 A
fuses. If a fuse of one of these capacities blows, replace it
temporarily by borrowing the one that matches from:
7.5 A: Outside rear-view mirrors
10 A: Radio (Engine compartment)
15 A: Cigarette lighter
