Open the cup holder lid on the
console box.
Adjust the position of the box
while lifting the lock release
lever.

The console box light turn on when the tail lights are turned on.
CAUTION
■Console box adjustment precaution
●Do not adjust the position of the console box while the vehicle is moving.
This may cause the driver to mishandle the vehicle and may lead to an accident that
results in death or serious injury.
●Be careful not to get hands or feet pinched between the front console box and the
center panel or rear seat.
●Be careful not to allow the front console box to hit any passengers while adjusting its
position.
●After adjusting the console box, make sure it is securely locked in position.

5-2. Steps to take in an emergency

If the hybrid system will not start
If the hybrid system will not start, even though correct starting procedures
are being followed (
→P. 131), consider each of the following points.
■The hybrid system will not start even when the starter motor oper-
ates normally.
One of the following may be the cause of the problem.
● There may not be sufficient fuel in the vehicle’s tank.
Refuel your vehicle.
● The hybrid system may be flooded.
Try to restart the hybrid system once more following correct
starting procedures. ( →P. 131)
● There may be a malfunction in the hybrid vehicle immobilizer sys-
tem. (→ P. 8 3 )
■ The interior lights and headlights are dim, or the horn does not
sound or sounds at a low volume.
One of the following may be the cause of the problem.
● The 12-volt battery may be discharged. ( →P. 4 2 1 )
● The 12-volt battery terminal connections may be loose or cor-
roded.
■ The interior lights and headlights do not turn on, or the horn does
not sound.
One of the following may be the cause of the problem.
● One or both of the 12-volt battery terminals may be discon-
nected.
● The 12-volt battery may be discharged. ( →P. 4 2 1 )
Contact your Lexus dealer if the problem cannot be repaired, or if
repair procedures are unknown.
