Three-Way Calling
To initiate three-way calling, press the “Voice Recogni-
tion” button while a call is in progress, and make a
second phone call, as described underMaking a Second
Call While Current Call in Progress.After the second call
has established, press and hold the PHONE button until
you hear a double beep, indicating that the two calls have
been joined into one conference call.
Call Termination
To end a call in progress, momentarily press the PHONE
button. Only the active call(s) will be terminated and if
there is a call on hold, it will become the new active call.
If the active call is terminated by the far end, a call on
hold may not become active automatically. This is cell
phone-dependent. To bring the call back from hold, press
and hold the PHONE button until you hear a single beep.
Redial
•
Press the PHONE button to begin.
•After theReadyprompt and the following beep, say
Redial.
•The UConnectsystem will call the last number that
was dialed from your cellular phone.
NOTE:This may not be the last number dialed from the
UConnectsystem.
Call Continuation
Call continuation is the progression of a phone call on the
UConnectsystem after the vehicle ignition key has been
switched to OFF. Call continuation functionality avail-
able on the vehicle can be any one of three types:
•After the ignition key is switched to OFF, a call can
continue on the UConnectsystem either until the call
ends, or until the vehicle battery condition dictates
cessation of the call on the UConnectsystem and
transfer of the call to the mobile phone.

•After the ignition key is switched to OFF, a call can
continue on the UConnectsystem for a certain dura-
tion, after which the call is automatically transferred
from the UConnectsystem to the mobile phone.
•An active call is automatically transferred to the
mobile phone after the ignition key is switched to OFF.
UConnectSystem Features
Language Selection
To change the language that the UConnectsystem is
using:
•Press the PHONE button to begin.
•After theReadyprompt and the following beep, say
the name of the language you wish to switch to
English, Espanol, or Francais.
•Continue to follow the system prompts to complete
language selection.After selecting one of the languages, all prompts and
voice commands will be in that language.
NOTE:After every UConnectlanguage change opera-
tion, only the language-specific 32-name phonebook is
usable. The paired phone name is not language-specific
and usable across all languages.
Emergency Assistance
If you are in an emergency and the mobile phone is
reachable:
•Pick up the phone and manually dial the emergency
number for your area.
If the phone is not reachable and the UConnectsystem
is operational, you may reach the emergency number as
follows:
•Press the PHONE button to begin.

•Echo at the far end can sometimes be reduced by
lowering the in-vehicle audio volume.
•In a convertible vehicle, system performance may be
compromised with the convertible top down.
BluetoothCommunication Link
Cellular phones have been found to lose connection to
the UConnectsystem. When this happens, the connec-
tion can generally be re-established by switching the
phone off/on. Your cell phone is recommended to remain
in BluetoothON mode.
Power-Up
After switching the ignition key from OFF to either ON
or ACC position, or after a language change, you must
wait at least five seconds prior to using the system.

Heated Seats — If Equipped
WARNING!
Persons who are unable to feel pain to the skin
because of advanced age, chronic illness, diabetes,
spinal cord injury, medication, alcohol use, exhaus-
tion or other physical condition must exercise care
when using the seat heater. It may cause burns even
at low temperatures, especially if used for long
periods of time. Do not place anything on the seat
that insulates against heat, such as a blanket or
cushion. This may cause the seat heater to overheat.
This feature heats the front driver’s and passenger’s seats.
The heated seat switches are located on the instrument
panel, below the radio. After turning on the ignition, you
may choose OFF, HIGH, or LOW heat settings. An indica-
tor on the switch shows which setting has been chosen.
•Pressing the switch once will select HIGH-
level heating.
•Pressing the switch a second time will select LOW-level
heating.
•Pressing the switch a third time will shut the heating
elements OFF.
When HIGH-level heating is selected, the heaters provide
a boosted heat level during the first four minutes of
operation after heating is activated. The heat output then
drops to the normal HIGH-level. If HIGH-level heating is
selected, the system will automatically switch to LOW-
level heating after about 30 minutes of continuous opera-
tion. At that time, the number of illuminated LEDs
changes from two to one, indicating the change. Opera-
tion on LOW-level heating also turns off automatically
after about 30 minutes.

To change the brightness of the instrument panel lights,
rotate the center portion of the Multifunction Control
Lever up or down.Daytime Running Lights (DRL) — If Equipped
The high beam lights will come on as Daytime Running
Lights (DRL) at DRL intensity (lower), whenever the
ignition is on, the engine is running, the headlight switch
is off, the parking brake is off, the turn signal is off, and
the shift lever is in any position except park.
Lights-On Reminder
If the headlights or parking lights are left on after the
ignition is turned OFF, a chime will sound to alert the
driver when the driver’s door is opened.
Dimmer Control

To Deactivate
A soft tap on the brake pedal, pulling the speed control
lever toward you “CANCEL”, normal braking, or clutch
pressure while slowing the vehicle, will deactivate speed
control without erasing the set speed memory. Pressing
the ON/OFF button or turning off the ignition switch
erases the set speed memory.
To Resume Speed
To resume a previously set speed, push the RESUME
ACCEL lever up and release. Resume can be used at any
speed above 20 mph (32 km/h).
To Vary The Speed Setting
When the speed control is ON, speed can be increased by
pushing up and holding RESUME ACCEL. Release the
lever when the desired speed is reached, and the new
speed will be set.Tapping RESUME ACCEL once will result in a 1 mph (1.6
km/h) speed increase. Each time the lever is tapped,
speed increases so that tapping the lever three times will
increase speed by 3 mph (4.8 km/h), etc.
To decrease speed while speed control is ON, push down
and hold SET DECEL. Release the lever when the desired
speed is reached, and the new speed will be set.
Tapping the SET DECEL button once will result in a 1
mph (1.6 km/h) speed decrease. Each time the button is
tapped, speed decreases.
Manual Transaxle
Depressing the clutch pedal will disengage the speed
control. A slight increase in engine RPM before the speed
control disengages is normal.
Vehicles equipped with manual transaxles may need to
be shifted into a lower gear to climb hills without speed
loss.

ESP/BAS Warning Light and ESP Indicator Light
The malfunction indicator for the ESP is combined with
the BAS indicator. The yellow “ESP/BAS Warning Light”
and the yellow “ESP Indicator Light” in the instrument
cluster both come on when the ignition switch is turned
to the ON position. They should both go out with the
engine running. If the “ESP/BAS Warning Light” comes
on continuously with the engine running, a malfunction
has been detected in either the ESP or BAS system, or
both. If this light remains on after several ignition cycles,
and the vehicle has been driven several miles/kilometers
at speeds greater than 30 mph (48 km/h), see your
authorized dealer as soon as possible to have the problem
diagnosed and corrected.NOTE:•The “ESP Indicator Light” and the “ESP/BAS Warning
Light” come onmomentarilyeach time the ignition
switch is turned ON.
•Each time the ignition is turned ON, the ESP System
will be ON even if it was turned off previously.
•The ESP Control System will make buzzing or clicking
sounds when it is active. This is normal; the sounds
will stop when ESP becomes inactive following the
maneuver that caused the ESP activation.
GARAGE DOOR OPENER — IF EQUIPPED
