FASTENING THE SEAT
BELTS
WARNING
Insert the tongue into the buckleuntil a distinct click is heard,otherwise the seat belt will not belocked correctly.
Pull the belt out steadily. It may lockif pulled sharply or if the vehicle is ona slope.
To release the belt, press the redbutton on the buckle and let the beltrewind completely and smoothly.
When in use, the rear seat beltsshould be placed in the belt guideson the outboard seatbacks.
WARNING
In order to ensure that thecentre belt works properly, therear seatback must be correctlyengaged.
Make sure that each seat belt usesthe correct buckle.

Rear lamps
Open the tailgate.
Remove the pillar panel trim insidethe luggage compartment.
Remove the sidewall panel trim togain access to the second wing nut.
Remove the wingnuts. Make sure thewing nuts do not fall into the opening.
Pull off the rear lamp assembly outof the two plastic retainers on thebody panel.
Disconnect the wiring connector.
Loosen the screws and remove thecomplete bulb holder.

Comfort seat system
WARNING
Make sure that there is nothingin the luggage compartmentwhich could obstruct the movementof the seats or get damaged whenthe seats move rearwards.
The centre seat can be folded up andthe outboard seats moved rearwardsand slightly inboard to provide moreleg and shoulder room for the rearpassengers.
First, fold back the front of theluggage cover.
Fold up the centre seat by releasingthe lever on the underside of theseat.
The complete seat will moverearwards as the seat cushion isfolded up. Fold the seat back until itengages.
Pull the lever on the outer front edgeof the outboard seats and push theseats rearwards. As the seats sliderearwards, they also move slightlyinboard. After releasing the lever,rock the seats to ensure that thecatch is securely engaged.

The console can be used to storeitems and also serves as an armrest.It includes a small net in the lid and amoveable tray.
Installing the centre console
WARNING
Close the lid of the consolebefore installing it.
Fold up the rear centre seat. SeeRear seats (page 124).
Place the console onto the storagetray between the outboard seats 1and slide the guide arm at the rear ofthe console under the bar on the tray2.

Never drive with the frontstorage compartment lid open.This will obscure your vision out ofthe windscreen. Before setting off,always ensure that the lid is securelyengaged.
Note:Avoid keeping heat-sensitiveobjects and liquids in the frontstorage compartment.
Driver’s seat storage bin
A storage bin is located on theoutboard side of the driver’s seat.
Storage area under therear centre seat
To gain access to the storage area,fold up the rear centre seat cushion.See Rear seats (page 124).
SEAT BACK TRAYS
WARNING
Do not use the trays when thevehicle is moving. Make surethat you secure the trays in thelowered position before setting off.

WARNINGS
Use load securing straps to anapproved standard, e.g. DIN.
Make sure that you secure allloose items properly.
Place luggage and other loadsas low and as far forward aspossible within the luggage orloadspace.
Do not drive with the tailgate orrear door open. Exhaust fumesmay enter the vehicle.
Do not exceed the maximumfront and rear axle loads for yourvehicle. See Vehicleidentification (page 226).
Heavy loads, when placed in thepassenger compartment,should be on folded rear seats asshown. See Rear seats (page 124).
LUGGAGE COVERS
WARNING
Do not place objects on theluggage cover.
Note:When moving the rear seatsinto the comfort position, fold backthe cover from the front edge.
Detach the two lifting straps on thetailgate. Fold back the cover from thefront edge. Release the cover fromits retaining points and lift it out.
When reinstalling it, ensure that it isproperly secured at the retainingpoints.
