The diesel auxiliary heater (PTCelectrical heater) aids in warming theengine and the interior compartmenton vehicles with diesel engines. It isautomatically switched on or offdepending on the outsidetemperature, the coolanttemperature and the alternator load.
Fuel operated heater
The fuel operated heater aids inwarming the engine and the interiorcompartment on vehicles with apetrol or diesel engine. It isautomatically switched on or offdepending on the outsidetemperature and the coolanttemperature, unless it has beendeactivated by the driver.
When the fuel operated heater isoperating, a message appears in theinformation display.
The fuel operated heater can bedeactivated using the informationdisplay. See Information displays(page 96).
ELECTRIC SUNROOF
WARNING
Before operating the electricsunroof you should verify it isfree of obstructions and ensure thatchildren and/or pets are not in theproximity of the sunroof opening.Failure to do so could result in seriouspersonal injury. It is the primaryresponsibility of the supervising adultsto never leave a child unattended ina vehicle and to never leave the keysin an unattended vehicle.
Note:When the switches areoperated often during a short periodof time, the system might becomeinoperable for a certain time toprevent damage due to overheating.
Note:The electric sunroof can alsobe operated with the ignition off viathe global opening and global closingfunction. See Global opening andclosing (page 50).

CIGAR LIGHTER
WARNING
Never hold the lighter in as thiswill result in damage. Alwaysremove the lighter as a precautionwhen children are left alone in thevehicle.
To use the lighter, press it in and waituntil it pops out automatically. Thelighter will also operate when theignition is switched off.
Other appliances can be connectedto the cigar lighter power point.
When connecting appliances, useonly specified connectors from theFord Accessory range or connectorsfor use with SAE standard sockets.
AUXILIARY POWER

CAUTION
If you use the socket when theengine is not running, the batterymay discharge.
Note:You can use the socket topower 12 volt appliances that have amaximum current rating of 10Amperes. Use only Ford accessoryconnectors or connectors specifiedfor use with SAE standard sockets.
Auxiliary power sockets are locatedin the centre console and in theluggage compartment.
Power inverter
CAUTIONS
If you use the socket when theengine is not running, the batterymay discharge.
If the LED flashes continuously,re-insert the plug or switch theignition off and then on again.
It will switch off if the temperatureis above 85°C (185°F). The LEDwill flash once. When it has cooleddown it will switch back onautomatically.

Do not exceed the maximumpower output. If you do, the LEDwill flash twice. Remove the plug andre-insert it.

This is located behind the glovecompartment in the instrument panel.
To gain access to the fuse box:
•Remove the screws in theinstrument panel trim underneaththe glove compartment and letthe trim panel drop down.
•Loosen the quick fix screws onthe fuse box.
•Let the fuse box down and pull ittowards you.
•Hang the fuse box in the frontfixture of the bracket.
Reinstall in the reverse order.
CHANGING A FUSE
WARNINGS
Do not modify the electricalsystem of your vehicle in anyway. Have repairs to the electricalsystem and the replacement ofrelays and high current fuses carriedout by properly trained technicians.
WARNINGS
Switch the ignition and allelectrical equipment off beforetouching or attempting to change afuse.
CAUTION
Fit a replacement fuse with thesame rating as the one you haveremoved.
Note:You can identify a blown fuseby a break in the filament.
Note:All fuses, except high currentfuses are a push fit.
Note:A fuse puller is located in thelid of the auxiliary fuse box.
