DEFLATIONDETECTION
System which automatically checks
the pressure of the tyres while driving. Tyres OK display
Choice of detection
This function warns you of tyres that
a r e d e fl a t e d o r p u n c t u r e d .
Automatic detection
Sensors monitor the tyre pressures.
In the event of an anomaly, a message
will appear on the instrument panel
screen.
Driver request detection
You can check the tyre pressures at
any given moment.
Press on button A (CHECK); the
information will be displayed on
the instrument panel screen.
Press on button A (CHECK).
The system indicates to you that the
t y r e s a r e c o r r e c t l y i n fl a t e d .
This information is only available on

a r e n o t e q u i p p e d w i t h t y r e d e fl a -
tion detection (wheels with snow
tyres, etc.), contact a CITROËN
dealer.
T h e d e fl a t i o n d e t e c t i o n s y s t e m i s a
driving aid, but which does not ab-
solve the driver from the need to be
vigilant and responsible.
This system does not dispense with
the requirement to check the tyres
on a regular basis (see "Vehicle
i d e n t i fi c a t i o n " ) , t o m a k e s u r e t h a t
the vehicle is behaving correctly
and to avoid premature tyre wear
arising from driving too fast etc.
Do not forget to check the pressure
in the spare wheel.
Any repair or replacement of a tyre
on a wheel that is equipped with
a sensor must be carried out by a
CITROËN dealer.
The system may suffer from tempo-
rary interference caused by radio
transmissions on neighbouring fre-
quencies.

LANE DEPARTURE WARNING SYSTEM
System which detects the involun-
t a r y c r o s s i n g o f l o n g i t u d i n a l t r a f fi c
lane markings on the ground (solid
or broken line).
S e n s o r s , fi t t e d b e l o w t h e f r o n t
bumper, trigger a warning if the vehi-
cle drifts over a lane marking (speed
higher than 50 mph (80 km/h)).
This system is particularly useful on
motorways and main roads. Activation
Press button A , the indicator
lamp comes on.
Deactivation
Press button A again, the indicator
lamp switches off.
The status of the system remains
in the memory when the ignition is
switched off.
Detection
You are warned by the vibration of
the driver’s seat cushion:
- on the right-hand side, if the marking on the ground has been
crossed on the right,
- on the left-hand side, if the marking on the ground has been crossed
on the left.
No warning is transmitted while the
direction indicator is active and for
a p p r o x i m a t e l y 2 0 s e c o n d s a f t e r t h e
direction indicator is switched off.
A warning may be transmitted if a
direction marking (e.g. arrow) or
n o n - s t a n d a r d m a r k i n g ( e . g . g r a f fi t i )
is crossed. Operating fault
In the event of a malfunction, the
service warning lamp comes on,
accompanied by an audible signal
and a message on the multifunction
screen.
Consult a CITROËN dealer.
The lane departure warning sys-
tem cannot, in any circumstances,
replace the need for vigilance and
responsibility on the part of the
driver. The detection may be impeded:
- if the sensors are dirty (mud,
snow...),
- if the markings on the ground are worn,
- if there is little contrast between the markings on the ground and
the road surface.

PARKING SPACE SENSOR
System which measures the parking
space available between two vehi-
cles or obstacles. It measures the
size of the space and gives you in-
formation on:
-
t h e p o s s i b i l i t y o f fi t t i n g i n t o a f r e e
space, depending on the dimensions
of your vehicle and the distances
necessary for your manoeuvring,
- t h e l e v e l o f d i f fi c u l t y o f t h e m a - noeuvre to be performed.
The system does not measure spaces
which are clearly much smaller or larger
than the size of the vehicle.
Displays on the instrument
panel
The parking space sensor function
warning lamp can have three differ-
ent states:
- off: the function is not selected,
- o n fi x e d : the function is selected
but the conditions for measuring
are not yet met (direction indi-
cator not operating, speed too
high) or the measurement is ter-
minated.
- fl a s h i n g : measurement is in
progress or the message is being
displayed. You can select the "parking space
sensor" function by pressing button
A.
T h e fi x e d l i g h t i n g o f t h e w a r n i n g l a m p
indicates that the function is selected.
During the measurement, the mes-
sage "Measurement in progress -
V m a x 2 0 k m / h ( 1 2 m p h ) " i s d i s p l a y e d
on the instrument panel screen.

Operation
Y o u h a v e i d e n t i fi e d a p a r k i n g s p a c e :
Press button A to select the func-
tion.
Activate the direction indicator
on the side where the space is to
be measured.
During measurement, go forward
the length of the space, at a speed
l e s s t h a n 1 2 m p h ( a p p r o x . 2 0 k m / h ),
to prepare for your manoeuvre.
The system then measures the size
of the space.
The system informs you of the
l e v e l o f d i f fi c u l t y o f t h e m a n o e u v r e
via a message on the instrument
panel screen accompanied by a
gong.
Depending on the message is-
sued by the system, you may or
may not be able to perform the
manoeuvre. The function displays the following
types of message:
Parking YES
P a r k i n g d i f fi c u l t
Parking NO The function deselects itself auto-
matically:
- when you engage reverse gear,
- when you switch off the ignition,
- if measurement is not requested,
- w i t h i n fi v e m i n u t e s o f s e l e c t i o n o f
the function,
- i f t h e v e h i c l e s p e e d e x c e e d s t h e t h r e s h o l d o f 4 5 m p h ( a p p r o x .
70 km/h) for one minute.
If the lateral distance between your
vehicle and the parking space is too
large, the system may not be able to
measure the space.
The function remains available after
each measurement and thus can
measure more than one space dur-
ing your search.
In bad weather conditions or in
winter, make sure that the sensors
are not covered by dirt, or by ice or
snow.
The parking space sensor function
deactivates the front parking assist-
ance during space measurement
when you are in forward gear.

Reactivation
In bad weather or in winter, ensure
that the sensors are not covered with
mud, ice or snow. When reverse gear
is engaged, an audible signal (long
beep) indicates that the sensors may
be dirty.
Press button A again, the warn-
ing lamp switches off, the system
is reactivated.
"HYDRACTIVE III+" ELECTRONIC SUSPENSION
The suspension automatically and
instantly adjusts to different driving
s t y l e s a n d t o t h e p r o fi l e o f t h e r o a d ,
providing the best compromise be-
tween occupant comfort and vehicle
road holding.
It allows you to alternate between
s o f t a n d fi r m s u s p e n s i o n s e t t i n g s ,
m a x i m i s i n g c o m f o r t a t t h e s a m e
time as permanently guaranteeing
the highest level of safety. It also
automatically corrects road holding,
according to the vehicle load and
driving conditions.
Also, the "Hydractive III+" suspen-
sion gives you the possibility of
choosing between two modes of
suspension.
A change of suspension mode can
be made either when the vehicle is
moving or when stationary, by press-
ing on button A . Display on the instrument
panel
The suspension mode selected is
displayed on the instrument panel
screen.
Normal mode
This mode favours soft
d a m p i n g f o r m a x i m u m c o m -
fort.
If the speed authorised for a
p a r t i c u l a r p o s i t i o n i s e x c e e d -
ed, the vehicle reverts automatically
to the normal road position.
SPORT mode
This mode favours dynamic
driving.
The warning lamp on button A
comes on in addition to the
message on the instrument
panel screen.
SPORT mode is retained when you
switch off the engine.

DRAINING THE DIESEL FUEL FILTER
Protective cover
Removal of the cover Draining water from the fuel
filter
Drain regularly (at each oil change).
To drain the water, slacken the bleed
screw or the water in diesel fuel sen-
s o r , l o c a t e d a t t h e b a s e o f t h e fi l t e r .
Continue until all the water has
fl o w e d o u t .
Then retighten the bleed screw or
the water detection sensor.
HDi 110, HDi 173 and V6 HDi 208
engines
Pull the protective cover upwards
to remove it.
HDi 138 engine
Remove the protective cover
b y fi r s t u n c l i p p i n g a t 3 , then 1
and 4.
Unclip at 2 by pulling towards
you, then lift up. R e fi t t i n g
Firstly clip in at 2 .
Lower and centre the cover.
Clip in at 3 and 4 , pushing verti-
cally and gently from the rear.
Clip in at 1 pushing vertically.
