Linked with the automatic
"Guide-me-home" lighting
Link with the automatic lighting pro-
vides the "guide-me-home" lighting
with the following additional options:
- selection of the duration of main-taining of the lighting for 15, 30 or
60 seconds in the vehicle para-
meters on the multifunction display
c o n fi g u r a t i o n m e n u ,
- automatic activation of "guide-me- home" lighting when automatic
lighting is in operation.
Operating fault
In the event of a malfunction of the
brightness sensor, the lights come
on and a message appears on the
multifunction display, accompanied
by an audible signal.
Consult a CITROËN dealer. In fog or snow, the brightness
s e n s o r m a y d e t e c t s u f fi c i e n t l i g h t .
Therefore, the lights will not come
on automatically.
Do not cover the brightness sensor,
linked with the rain sensor and
located in the centre of the wind-
screen behind the interior mirror;
the associated functions would no

To avoid dazzling other road users,
the height of the halogen bulb head-
lamps must be adjusted according

Do not touch the xenon headlamps.
Consult a CITROËN dealer. If a malfunction oc-
curs, this warning
light is displayed on
the instrument panel,
accompanied by an
audible signal and a
message on the multi-
function display.
The system then places your head-
lamps in the lowest position.
In order to avoid causing a nuisance
to other road users, this system cor-
rects the height of the xenon head-
lamps beam automatically and when
stationary, in relation to the load in
the vehicle.

force distribution which could result
in loss of control of the vehicle when
braking.

Anti-skid regulation (ASR) and
electronic stability programme
(ESP)
T h e a n t i - s k i d r e g u l a t i o n o p t i m i s e s
t r a c t i o n t o p r e v e n t s k i d d i n g o f t h e
wheels, by acting on the brakes of the
driving wheels and on the engine.
T h e e l e c t r o n i c s t a b i l i t y p r o g r a m m e
acts on the brake of one or more
w h e e l s a n d o n t h e e n g i n e t o k e e p
the vehicle on the trajectory required
by the driver. Activation
These systems are activated auto-
matically each time the vehicle is
started.
T h e y c o m e i n t o o p e r a t i o n i n t h e e v e n t
o f a g r i p o r t r a j e c t o r y p r o b l e m . T h i s i s i n d i c a t e d b y fl a s h i n g
of this warning light on the
i n s t r u m e n t p a n e l . Disarming
I n e x c e p t i o n a l c o n d i t i o n s ( s t a r t i n g a
vehicle which is bogged down, stuck
in snow, on soft ground...), it may
be advisable to disarm the ASR and
ESP systems, so that the wheels
c a n m o v e f r e e l y a n d r e g a i n g r i p .
Press the "ESP OFF" button, lo-
cated in the centre of the fascia.
If this warning light comes
o n o n t h e i n s t r u m e n t p a n e l
and the indicator light on the
button comes on, this indi-
cates that the ASR and ESP
systems are disarmed.
Snow driving assistance
(SNOW MOTION)

This automatic system continuously

face adhesion that could make it dif-

snow.
In these situations, the SNOW
MOTION system takes over from
the ASR s y s t e m b y o p t i m i s i n g t h e
a m o u n t o f w h e e l s l i p t o p r o v i d e t h e
best traction and trajectory control,
even without snow tyres and with or
without chains. For vehicles with Hydractive III+
s u s p e n s i o n , m a n u a l a d j u s t m e n t o f
ground clearance to the intermediate
p o s i t i o n i m p r o v e s f u r t h e r t h e a b i l i t y
t o m a k e p r o g r e s s i n d e e p s n o w ( s e e
t h e r e l e v a n t p a r a g r a p h ) .
I n e x t r e m e l y s e v e r e c o n d i t i o n s ( s n o w
o n t o p o f i c e , s a n d , d e e p m u d … ) , i t
can be useful to deactivate the
ESP/
ASR systems to allow a degree of
w h e e l s p i n a n d s o r e c o v e r g r i p .

T h e d r i v e r m u s t e n s u r e t h a t p a s s e n -
gers use the seat belts correctly and
that they are all restrained securely
before setting off.
Wherever you are seated in the ve-
hicle, always fasten your seat belt,
even for short journeys.
Do not invert the seat belt buckles
a s t h e y w i l l n o t f u l fi l t h e i r r o l e f u l l y .
T h e s e a t b e l t s a r e fi t t e d w i t h a n i n -
e r t i a r e e l p e r m i t t i n g a u t o m a t i c a d -

to your size. The seat belt is stored
automatically when not in use.
Before and after use, ensure that the

p e l v i s .
T h e u p p e r p a r t m u s t b e p o s i t i o n e d
in the hollow of the shoulder.
T h e i n e r t i a r e e l s a r e fi t t e d w i t h a n a u -
tomatic locking device which comes
i n t o o p e r a t i o n i n t h e e v e n t o f a c o l l i -
sion, emergency braking or if the ve-
hicle rolls over. You can release the
d e v i c e b y p u l l i n g r a p i d l y o n t h e s t r a p
and releasing it. In order to be effective, a seat belt:
- must be tightened as close to the
b o d y a s p o s s i b l e ,
- m u s t r e s t r a i n o n e p e r s o n o f a d u l t size only,
- must not bear any trace of cuts or fraying,
- m u s t b e p u l l e d i n f r o n t o f y o u w i t h a smooth movement, checking
that it does not twist,
- must not be transformed or mod- i fi e d t o a v o i d a l t e r i n g i t s p e r f o r m -

b a g s . T r i g g e r i n g o f t h e p r e - t e n s i o n -
e r s i s a c c o m p a n i e d b y a s l i g h t d i s -
charge of harmless smoke and a
noise, due to the activation of the
p y r o t e c h n i c c a r t r i d g e i n c o r p o r a t e d
in the system.
In all cases, the air bag warning light
comes on.
