and the mounting B.
- c h e c k t h a t t h e b a c k o f t h e b e n c h seat is secured correctly.
REAR HEAD RESTRAINTS *
T h e r e a r h e a d r e s t r a i n t s c a n b e r e -
moved and have two positions:
- h i g h , p o s i t i o n f o r u s e .
- l o w , s t o r a g e p o s i t i o n .
T o r a i s e t h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t , p u l l i t u p -
wards.
To lower it, press lug A then the head
restraint.
To remove it:
- t i l t t h e s e a t b a c k s l i g h t l y ,
- m o v e t h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t t o t h e high position,
- p r e s s l u g A pulling the head
restraint upwards at the same
time.
T o r e fi t i t :
- t i l t t h e s e a t b a c k s l i g h t l y ,
- e n g a g e t h e r o d s o f t h e h e a d restraint in the openings.
To reach the low position, press lug A .
F o l d i n g t h e b a c k o f t h e b e n c h
seat:
The seat back is folded from the rear
of the vehicle, with the boot open:
- c h e c k t h a t t h e s e a t b e l t i s
positioned correctly on the
side of the seat back to avoid
damaging it,
- p l a c e t h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t s i n t h e low position (see "rear head
restraints"),
- w h i l e f o l d i n g t h e s e a t b a c k , p u l l the strap(s) A , located behind
the seat back.

KEYS/REMOTE CONTROL
Remote control
This carries out the vehicle locking -
unlocking and locating functions at a
distance.
Keys
The keys allow you to switch on the
ignition and operate the locks on the
front doors, the boot, the fuel tank
cap, the steering lock and the pas-
senger air bag deactivation switch. Locking
Press button
A to lock the vehicle from
a d i s t a n c e . T h i s i s c o n fi r m e d b y b r i e f
lighting of the direction indicators.
Central locking and unlocking
From the driver's door, the keys allow
you to lock and unlock the doors and
boot simultaneously. Unlocking
Press button
B to unlock the vehicle.

fl a s h e s o f t h e d i r e c t i o n i n d i c a t o r s . Locating the vehicle
To locate your vehicle in a car park, if
you have locked it:
press button A , the direction indi-
c a t o r s c o m e o n b r i e fl y .
Note: after locking, if you no-
tice that a door is not closed
properly, close it then lock
the vehicle again.
The set of keys or remote
controls, supplied with your
vehicle, enable you to ob-
tain a maximum of three new
keys.
If all of the keys in your possession
are lost, a major operation will have
to be carried out on your vehicle.

ACCESS ELECTRIC WINDOWS
The driver and front passenger each
have an electric window.
After the ignition has been switched
on, press or pull control 1 . The window
stops when you release the control.
Always remove the key from
the ignition when leaving
the vehicle, even for a short
time.
The driver must ensure that the front
passenger uses his electric window
correctly.
Be aware of children when operating
the windows.
DOORS
Simultaneous central locking/
unlocking of the doors and boot.
To lock/unlock the vehicle, press/pull
button A on the driver's door.
For the other doors, carry out the
same operation as for normal lock-
ing/unlocking.
Driver's door open
If the driver's door is open,
the courtesy lamp remains
on if the button is in this po-
sition.
Locking/unlocking a door
from the inside
Normal locking/unlocking: the
doors lock/unlock independently.
To lock/unlock a door, press/pull button A .
Note: operating the handle does not
unlock the door, pull button A to un-
lock.

This prevents the opening of each of
the rear doors from the inside.
Push control 1 towards the outside of
the vehicle.
LOCKING/UNLOCKINGTHE BOOT USING THE KEY*
To open, operate the lock B using the
key and raise the tailgate.
LOCKING/UNLOCKINGTHE BOOT USING THE REMOTE CONTROL *
The boot is locked/unlocked using
the buttons on the remote control.
Then, to open, press button C and
raise the tailgate.
Note: the boot can be locked/un-
locked using control A on the driver's
door.
REAR WINDOWS(5-DOOR)
To partially open the rear windows,
pull the lever then push the window.
To close the window, pull then press
the lever to lock the window.
Check the status of this safe-
ty device before switching on
the ignition.
This system is independent
of the central locking.
Always remove the key from the ignition
when leaving the vehicle. * According to version.

2. Spare wheel/Additional storage compartments
Located under the carpet and a plas-
tic cover, this contains the tools for
wheel changing and towing.
There are two shelf storage options:
- either behind the rear seats,
- o r fl a t i n t h e b o o t .
1. Rear shelf
To remove the shelf:
- u n h o o k t h e s h e l f f r o m i t s fi x i n g
A ,
- pull upwards on each side to de- t a c h i t f r o m i t s fi x i n g s ,
- raise then tilt the shelf slightly to remove it. In order to obtain additional
space, the spare wheel can
be removed temporarily
(boot tray available as an ac-
cessory).

Parking the vehicle
As far as possible, immobilise the
vehicle on level, stable, non-slip-
pery ground.
Apply the parking brake, switch
o f f t h e i g n i t i o n a n d e n g a g e fi r s t
gear or reverse for the manu-
al gearbox, position N for the
"SensoDrive" gearbox. Tools
The following tools are installed in a
carrier, located in the centre of the
spare wheel:
1. Wheelbrace
2. Jack with handle
3. Removable towing eye
Access to the spare wheel and
the jack in the boot
Remove the carpet then the plas-
tic cover using the handle. Tyre pressures
These are indicated on the label po-
sitioned on the inner pillar of the left
d o o r , s e e " I d e n t i fi c a t i o n " .
CHANGING A WHEEL
If necessary, chock the wheel di-
agonally opposite the wheel to be
changed.
It is imperative that you ensure that
the occupants get out of the vehi-
cle and wait in a safe location.

CHANGING A BULB
1. Sidelamps (W 5 W)
Turn the bulb holder A one quarter
of a turn and remove it.
Remove the bulb and change it.
2. Direction indicators (PY 21 W amber)
Turn the bulb holder B one quarter
of a turn and remove it.
Turn the bulb one quarter of a
turn.
Remove the bulb and change it.
I f y o u e n c o u n t e r a n y d i f fi c u l t i e s , c o n -
tact a CITROËN dealer.
Note: in certain climatic con-
ditions (low temperatures,
humidity), the presence of
condensation on the inter-
nal face of the headlamps is normal ;
it disappears a few minutes after the
lights are switched on.
Never go underneath a vehi-
cle supported only by a jack
(use an axle stand).
4. Fold the jack 2 and detach it.
5. Tighten the wheel bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 .
6. R e fi t t h e t r i m .
7. Store the tools and the wheel in
the boot.
T h e j a c k a n d t h e t o o l k i t a r e s p e c i fi c
to your vehicle. Do not use them for
other purposes.
After changing a wheel:
- have the tighteness of the bolts and the pressure of the spare wheel
checked as soon as possible,
- have the punctured wheel re- p a i r e d a n d r e fi t i t o n t h e v e h i c l e
as soon as possible.
