Theuseofinfantorchildrestraintsisrequiredbylawinall50statesoftheU.S.andallCanadianprovinces.ThechildrestraintsystemshouldbeonethatcomplieswithU.S.Federal/CanadianMotorVehicleSafetyStandardsandshouldbesecuredbyalapbeltorlapbeltportionofalap-shoulderbeltorforchildseatsequippedwiththeLATCHsytem(LowerAnchorageandTetherforChildren,alsoknownasISOFIX)totheLATCHanchorages.Astatementbytheseatmanufacturerofcompliancewiththisstandardcanbefoundontheinstructionlabelontherestraintandintheinstructionmanualprovidedwiththerestraint.

Afterfasteningthechildrestraintsystem,donotadjusttheseat.
Checktheconditionofthepassenger’sairbagsystemshownbytheindicatorlampinthecentralconsole.
Activatingtheautomaticlockingretractor
1.Ifachildrestraintsystemmustbefastenedtothepassenger’sseat,adjustthepassenger’sseatasfarawayfromtheairbagaspossible.
2.Fastenchildseat.
3.Pullthesafetybeltretractorcompletelyout.Atthispointthelockingmechanismisactivated.
4.Insertthesafetybelttongueintothebuckleandmakecertainthatitisproperlylatched.Makenomoreadjustmentstotheseat.
5.Allowthesafetybelttoretractuntilitistightonthechildrestraintsystem.Youmayfurthertightenthebeltbypullingonittoallowmoreofittoretract.Makesurethatexcessiveseatbeltforcesdonotoccurbymovingtheseatwiththechildseatinstalled.
Releasingthesafetybelt
1.Unbucklethesafetybeltlatch.
2.Thenmakecertainthatthebelthasfullyretracted.Atthispointtheautomaticlockingfeaturewillbedisengaged.SeekappropriateadvicefromyourauthorizedPorschedealeraboutthepossibleinstallationofaPorschechildrestraintsystem.

Functionoftheparkingbrake
Parkingbrakeforceismechanicallytransferredtotherearwheelsbymeansofcables.
Usetheparkingbrakeonlyafterthevehiclehascometoafullstop.
Settingtheparkingbrake
Pulltheleverallthewayup(seearrow).Withtheignitionon,theparkingbrakewarninglightsintheinstrumentpanelandon-boardcomputerwillcomeoniftheleverisevenslightlyraised.Afirmpullupwardisrequiredtoproperlyengagetheparkingbrake.Ifthebrakeisnotfullyset,thevehiclemayrollwithoutcontrol.
Movetheselectorleverto“P”(Tiptronic)ormovethegearshiftlevertoreverseorfirstgear(Manualtransmission).
Beforeexitingthevehicle,makesurethattheparkingbrakeisfullysetandthevehicleisnotmovingatall.
