Loadswitch-offafter2hoursor7days
Iftheignitionkeyisremoved,loadswhichareswitchedonorareinstandbymode(suchastheluggagecompartmentlight,interiorlightandradio)areautomaticallyswitchedoffafterapprox.2hours.
Ifthevehicleisnotstartedorunlockedwiththeremotecontrolwithin7days,theremotecontrolstandbyfunctionisswitchedoff(tosavethevehiclebattery).
1.Inthiscase,unlockthedriver’sdoorwiththekeyatthedoorlock.Leavethedoorclosedinordertopreventthealarmsystemfrombeingtriggered.
2.Pressbutton1ontheremotecontrol.

1.Switchofftheloadwiththedefectivefuse.
2.Pulloffplasticcoveratthefingerhole(arrow).Thefuseplanandinstructionsforemer-gencyunlockingoftheluggagecompart-mentlidcanbefoundontheinnersideofthecover.
3.RemovethecorrespondingfusefromitsslotusingtheplasticgripperAinordertocheckit.Ablownfusecanbeidentifiedbythemeltedmetalstrip.
4.Replaceonlywithfusesofthesamerating.

LetyourPorschedealertestthebattery’scapacitybeforewintersetsin.
Thebatterywilldischargemorequicklyifyourvehicleisnotdrivenonadailybasisoveradistanceofseveralmiles.Themoreoftenyoudriveyourvehicle,andthelongerthedistancedrivenoneachtrip,themoreopportunitythevehicle’schargingsystemwillhavetorechargethebatteries.
Replacingbattery
Theservicelifeofthebatteryissubjecttonormalwear;itdependsgreatlyoncare,climaticcondi-tions,anddrivingconditions(distances,loads).
OnlyuseanoriginalPorschebattery,withthecorrectpartnumber,asareplacement.

Puttingvehicleintooperation
Afterthebatteryisconnectedorafterancom-pletelydischargedbatteryischarged,themul-tifunctionalPSMlightlightsupontheinstrumentpanelandamessageappearsontheon-boardcomputertoindicateafault.
Thisfaultcanberemediedwithafewsimplesteps:
1.Starttheengine.
2.Withthevehiclestationary,performafewsteeringmovementstotheleftandrightandthendriveashortdistanceinastraightlineuntilthemultifunctinalPSMlightgoesoutandthemessageontheon-boardcomputerdisappears.
3.Ifthewarningsdonotdisappear,then:DrivecarefullytothenearestauthorizedPorschedealer.Havethefaultremedied.
4.Afterthewarningsdisappear:Stopthevehicleinasuitableplace.
5.Performadaptationofthepowerwindows:

2.Firstconnectthenegativecable(black)tothenegativeterminalofthedonorbattery,thenconnectittoasuitablegroundingpointonthevehiclewiththedischargedbattery.Thisgroundingpointmustlieasfaraspossiblefromthebattery.Forexample,asolidmetalpartortheengineblockaresuitablegroundingpoints.Ifnosuitablegroundingpointsaretobefoundoneithervehicle,thenegativecablemustcarefullybeconnecteddirectlytothenegativeterminalofthebattery.Ifasuitablegroundingpointistobefoundonlyonthedonorvehicle,thenegativecablemustfirstbeconnectedtotheterminalofthedischargedbattery,thentothegroundingpointofthedonorvehicle.
3.Runtheengineofthedonorcaratahigherspeed.
4.Starttheengine.Anattemptedstartusingjumpercablesshouldnotlastmorethan15seconds.Thenallowawaitingperiodofatleastoneminute.
Note
Beforedisconnectingthejumpercables,electricalloadssuchastheheatedrearwindowandtheheatingfanblowershouldbeswitchedon(thevehicle’slightsmustnotbeswitchedon).Thisreducesvoltagepeakswhichmayoccurwhendisconnectingthejumpercables.
