HAC-200
< PRECAUTION >[AUTO AIR CONDITIONER (W/O NAVI)]
PRECAUTIONS
- Do not allow A/C oil to come in contact with styrofoam parts. Damage may result.
CONTAMINATED REFRIGERANT
If a refrigerant other than pure HFC-134a (R-134a) is identified in a vehicle, your options are:
Explain to the customer that environmental regulations prohibit the release of contaminated refrigerant into
the atmosphere.
Explain that recovery of the contaminated refrigerant could damage your service equipment and refrigerant
supply.
Suggest the customer return the vehicle to the location of previous service where the contamination may
have occurred.
If you choose to perform the repair, recover the refrigerant using only dedicated equipment and contain-
ers. Do not recover contaminated refrigerant into your existing service equipment. If your facility does
not have dedicated recovery equipment, you may contact a local refrigerant product retailer for available ser-
vice. This refrigerant must be disposed of in accordance with all federal and local regulations. In addition,
replacement of all refrigerant system components on the vehicle is recommended.
If the vehicle is within the warranty period, the air conditioner warranty is void. Please contact NISSAN Cus-
tomer Affairs for further assistance.

MANIFOLD GAUGE SET
Be certain that the gauge face indicates R-134a or 134a. Make sure
the gauge set has 1/2″-16 ACME threaded connections for service
hoses. Confirm the set has been used only with refrigerant HFC-
134a (R-134a) along with specified oil.
SERVICE HOSES
Be certain that the service hoses display the markings described
(colored hose with black stripe). All hoses must include positive shut-
off devices (either manual or automatic) near the end of the hoses
opposite the manifold gauge.
SERVICE COUPLERS
Never attempt to connect HFC-134a (R-134a) service couplers to a
CFC-12 (R-12) A/C system. The HFC-134a (R-134a) couplers will
not properly connect to the CFC-12 (R-12) system. However, if an
improper connection is attempted, discharging and contamination
may occur.

Precaution for Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) "AIR BAG" and "SEAT BELT
PRE-TENSIONER"
INFOID:0000000001532084
The Supplemental Restraint System such as “AIR BAG” and “SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONER”, used along
with a front seat belt, helps to reduce the risk or severity of injury to the driver and front passenger for certain
types of collision. Information necessary to service the system safely is included in the SR and SB section of
this Service Manual.
WARNING:
To avoid rendering the SRS inoperative, which could increase the risk of personal injury or death in
the event of a collision which would result in air bag inflation, all maintenance must be performed by
an authorized NISSAN/INFINITI dealer.
Improper maintenance, including incorrect removal and installation of the SRS, can lead to personal
injury caused by unintentional activation of the system. For removal of Spiral Cable and Air Bag
Module, see the SR section.
Do not use electrical test equipment on any circuit related to the SRS unless instructed to in this
Service Manual. SRS wiring harnesses can be identified by yellow and/or orange harnesses or har-
ness connectors.
Precaution for Liquid GasketINFOID:0000000001337823
LIQUID GASKET APPLICATION PROCEDURE
1. Remove old liquid gasket adhering to the liquid gasket application surface and the mating surface.
Remove liquid gasket completely from the liquid gasket application surface, bolts, and bolt holes.
2. Wipe the liquid gasket application surface and the mating surface with white gasoline (lighting and heating
use) to remove adhering moisture, grease and foreign materials.
3. Attach liquid gasket tube to the Tool.
Use Genuine Silicone RTV Sealant or equivalent. Refer to
GI-27, "
Recommended Chemical Products and Sealants".
Within 5 minutes of liquid gasket application, install the mating
component.
If liquid gasket protrudes, wipe it off immediately.
Do not retighten bolts or nuts after the installation.
Wait 30 minutes or more after installation before refilling
engine oil and engine coolant.Tool number :WS39930000 ( — )

ENGINE OIL
2. Install oil pressure gauge and hose.
3. Check engine oil level. Refer to LU-15, "
Inspection".
4. Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
5. Check oil pressure with engine running under no-load.
NOTE:
When engine oil temperature is low, engine oil pressure becomes high.
Engine oil pressure [Engine oil temperature at 80°C (176°F)]
If difference is extreme, check oil passage and oil pump for oil leaks.
6. After the inspections, install oil pressure switch as follows:
a. Remove old liquid gasket adhering to oil pressure switch and engine.
b. Apply liquid gasket and tighten oil pressure switch to specification.
Use Genuine Silicone RTV Sealant or equivalent. Refer to GI-27, "
Recommended Chemical Prod-
ucts and Sealants".
c. Check engine oil level. Refer to LU-15, "
Inspection".
d. After warming up engine, make sure there are no engine leaks of oil with running engine.
Changing Engine OilINFOID:0000000001337828
WARNING:
Be careful not to burn yourself, as engine oil may be hot.
Prolonged and repeated contact with used engine oil may cause skin cancer; try to avoid direct skin
contact with used engine oil. If skin contact is made, wash thoroughly with soap or hand cleaner as
soon as possible.
1. Warm up engine, park vehicle on a level surface and check for engine oil leakage from engine compo-
nents. Refer to LU-15, "
Inspection".
2. Stop engine and wait for 10 minutes.Tool number : ST25051001 (J-25695-1)

PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
Periodic MaintenanceINFOID:0000000001277598
The following tables show the normal maintenance schedule. Depending upon weather and atmospheric con-
ditions, varying road surfaces, individual driving habits and vehicle usage, additional or more frequent mainte-
nance may be required.
Periodic maintenance beyond the last period shown on the tables requires similar maintenance.
ENGINE AND EMISSION CONTROL MAINTENANCE (MR ENGINE)
(Annual Mileage <30,000 Km/year)
Abbreviations: I = Inspect and correct or replace as necessary, R = Replace, [ ] = At the specified mileage only.
NOTE:
Maintenance items with “ ” should be performed more frequently according to “Maintenance Under Severe Driving Con-
ditions”.
(1)Periodic maintenance is not required. However, if valve noise increases, check valve clearance.
(2) Replace the drive belt if found damaged.
(3) First replace at 90,000 Km (54,000 miles)/60 months, then every 60,000 km (36,000 miles)/48 months. Perform "I" (Check-
ing the mixture ratio and correcting the mixture ratio if necessary) at the middle of replacement interval.
(4) Fuel filter is maintenance-free. For service procedures, refer to FL section.
(5) Perform only according to “Maintenance Under Severe Driving conditions” for models without Euro-OBD system. For
models with Euro-OBD system, periodic maintenance is not required.
