DVD operation
From time to time, clean your DVDs
with a commercially available cleaning
cloth. Never wipe circularly, but in a
straight line from inside to outside.
After use, put your DVDs into the DVD
box.
Protect your DVDs from high
temperatures and direct sunlight.
Load a video DVD into the COMAND
(
page 77).

If a DVD is already loaded, open the Au-
dio menu (
page 42) and press the
DVD soft key.
If the video DVD meets the playback re-
quirements, playback will begin. If avai-
lable, the DVD menu (
page 82) saved
on the DVD will appear.

Vendors may offer DVDs which do not
comply with the standards.
Sound, picture and other playback
problems may occur when you play
such DVDs.
The COMAND can playback video
DVDs meeting the following
requirements:
Regional code is set (factory
setting)
NTSC or PAL TV standard
The appropriate information is usually
given either on the DVD or the DVD
box. The factory setting of the
COMAND is regional code 1. The
setting can be changed at an
authorized Mercedes-Benz Center. This
will allow you to playback video DVDs
with other regional codes, as long as
they comply with the NTSC or PAL TV
standard.

The COMAND system is capable of
playing DVDs. However, in order to
avoid driver distraction, the video
function is disabled and no images will
be shown on the COMAND screen.

Selecting a station on the memory list
In the Satellite radio main menu, press
the
Presets soft key.
The SAT preset memory will appear.
Use g or G to highlight a memory
preset.
Press E.
The Satellite radio main menu will then
appear automatically after 8 seconds,
indicating the memory preset number
in the status line.
In the Satellite radio main menu, press
the
Info soft key.
The information display will appear.
You will see (if available)
the full station name
additional program information
Press the Back soft key to switch back

Incoming calls are indicated in a window in
any system (e.g. radio).
The window shows:
the caller’s number if it is transmitted
or
the caller’s name if her or his name and
number are saved in the phone book.Accepting a call

will be muted. You talk over the hands-
free set.

Selecting an entry from the dialed
numbers list
The COMAND automatically generates a
list of the last 10 numbers dialed. The list
is sorted chronologically with the most
recently dialed number at the top of the
list.
Displaying the list
In the Telephone menu (page 108),
press the
Redial soft key.

In the Telephone menu (page 108),
press the
Calls soft key.
Press H to display the dialed num-
bers list.
The most recently dialed number is
highlighted.The status bar shows:

of the internal memory of the mobile
phone (TDMA/CDMA and GSM mobile
phone)
of the address book (page 192) if it
contains any telephone numbers
Displaying the phone book
In the Telephone menu (page 108),
press the Z soft key.
The phone book will appear.The first entry found is at the top of the list
and highlighted. All entries are marked with symbols which
indicate the phone number category.
Entries marked with symbols have been
imported into the phone book from the in-
ternal memory of the mobile phone.
Usable phone number categories:
Symbol : Cell number
Symbol : Private number
Symbol : Business number
And additional categories:

Saving the entry
In the Input menu, press the OK soft
key.
If you have not assigned a name, the
system will save the entry in the
Other
category, otherwise under the name
you have assigned.
