NOTICE
■To prevent damage to the engine and its components
●Do not let the indicator needle of the tachometer enter the red zone, which indi-
cates the maximum engine speed.
●The engine may be overheating if the temperature gauge is in the red zone (“H”). In
this case, immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place. Check the engine after it has
cooled completely. ( P. 4 9 2 )
■To activate the light sensitivity function properly
Do not affix a sticker or window tint to the rear window glass, or put an object
behind the rear seat.

CAUTION
■If a safety system warning light does not come on
Should a safety system light such as ABS and the SRS airbag warning light not
come on when you start the engine, this could mean that these systems are not
available to help protect you in an accident, which could result in death or serious
injury. Have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer immediately if this occurs.
■ Warning lights
Warning lights inform the driver of malfunctions in the indicated
vehicle’s systems. ( P. 4 4 9 )
*: These lights turn on when the engine switch is turned to “IG-ON” mode
to indicate that a system check is being performed. They will turn off
after the engine is started or afte r a few seconds. There may be a mal -
function in a system if the lights do not come on, or turn off. Have the
vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer.

■System check display
After switching the engine switch to IG-ON mode, “CHECK” is displayed while
system operation is checked. When the system check is complete, “COMPLETED”
is displayed before returning to the normal screen.
CAUTION
■The multi-information display at low temperatures
Allow the interior of the vehicle to warm up before using the liquid crystal informa-
tion display. At extremely low temperatures, the information display monitor may
respond slowly, and display changes may be delayed.

With the engine at operating temperat ure and turned off, check the oil
level on the dipstick.
■ Checking the engine oil
Park the vehicle on level ground. A
fter turning off the engine, wait
a few minutes for the oil to drain back into the bottom of the
engine.
Hold a rag under the end and pull the dipstick out.
Wipe the dipstick clean.
Reinsert the dipstick fully.
Holding a rag under the end, pull the dipstick ou

oil level.
