DOOR LOCKS

WARNING:
o Unlocked doors can be danger- ous. Before you drive away (es- pecially if there are children inthe car), be sure that all the doors are securely closed and locked so that the doors cannot be inad-vertently opened from the inside. This helps ensure that the doors will not be opened accidentally.Also, when combined with the proper use of seat belts, locking the doors helps keep occupantsfrom being ejected from the car in case of an accident.
o Before opening the door, always look for and avoid oncoming traffic.
o A locked-up vehicle can become
extremely hot, causing death or severe injury to unattended chil- dren, handicapped persons or animals who cannot escape thevehicle. Never leave children, handicapped persons or animals unattended in your vehicle.
o In case of accident, the door is unlocked automatically (If in-stalled).

with a key.

To stop at the desired opening, pull up and release the switch. In order toprevent operation of the passenger front window by the passenger, a window lock switch (2) is provided on the armrest of the driver's door. To disable the passenger's power window, push the window lock switch. To revert to normaloperation, push in on the window lock switch again.

1) Be careful that someone's head, hands and body are not trapped by a closing window.
2) Never try to operate the main switch on the driver's door and theindividual door window switch inopposing directions at the same time. If this is done, the window will stop and cannot be opened orclosed.
3) Do not leave children alone in the
car. Always remove the ignitionkey for their safety.
NOTE: The power windows can be operated for 30 seconds after the ignition key is turned to the "ACC" or "LOCK"positions, or removed from the igni- tion switch. If the front doors are opened during this 30 second pe-riod, the power windows can no longer be operated without the igni- tion key turned to the "ON" position.

B130A01GK-AAT Rear Seat Entry (Walk in device) The driver and front passenger's seatbacks should be tilted to enter therear seat. By pulling up the walk in device lever (1) at the left-upper side of the driver sideseatback, the seatback will tilt forward. Then pull the lock release lever (2) up to move the seat forward. The lap por- tion should be fastened snug on thehips and as low as possible. Check belt fit periodically. A child's squirming could put the belt out of position. Childrenare afforded the most safety in the event of an accident when they are restrained by a proper restraint systemin the rear seat. If a larger child (over age 13) must be seated in the front seat, the child should be securely re-strained by the available lap/shoulder belt and the seat should be placed in the rearmost position. Children underthe age of 13 should be restrained securely in the rear seat. NEVER place a child under the age of 13 in the frontseat. NEVER place a rear facing child seat in the front seat of a vehicle. B150D01A-AAT Pregnant Women The use of a seat belt is recommended for pregnant women to lessen thechance of injury in an accident. When a seat belt is used, the lap belt portion should be placed as low and snugly aspossible on the hips, not across the abdomen. For specific recommenda- tions, consult a physician. B230G01A-GAT Installation on the Outboard Rear Seats To install a child restraint system in the outboard rear seats, extend the shoul-der/lap belt from its retractor. Install the child restraint system, buckle the seat belt and allow the seat belt to takeup any slack. Make sure that the lap portion of the belt is tight around the child restraint system and the shoulderportion of the belt is positioned so that it cannot interfere with the child's head or neck. After installation of the childrestraint system, try to move it in all directions to be sure the child restraint system is securely installed.On outboard rear seats
HGK1010o Never use an infant carrier or childsafety seat that "hooks" over a seatback; it may not provide ad-equate security in an accident.
o Never allow a child to be held in a
person's arms while they are in amoving vehicle, as this could re- sult in serious injury to the child in the event of an accident or asudden stop. Holding a child in a moving vehicle does not provide the child with any means of pro-tection during an accident, even if the person holding the child is wearing a seat belt.
o If the child restraint seat is not
anchored properly, the risk of achild being seriously injured or killed in a collision greatly in- creases.o Children who are too large to be in
a child restraint should sit in the rear seat and be restrained with the available lap/shoulder belts.Never allow children to ride in the front passenger seat.
o Always make sure that the shoul- der belt portion of the outboardlap/shoulder belt is positioned midway over the shoulder, neveracross the neck or behind the back. Moving the child closer to the center of the vehicle may helpprovide a good shoulder belt fit. The lap belt portion of the lap/ shoulder belt or the center seatlap belt must always be posi- tioned as low as possible on the child's hips and as snug as pos-sible.
o If the seat belt will not properly fit
the child, Hyundai recommendsthe use of an approved booster seat in the rear seat in order to raise the child's seating heightso that the seat belt will properly fit the child.
o Never allow a child to stand up or kneel on the seat.
