If something has blocked the driver’s seat and/or
the adjustable pedals while recalling a memory
position, the driver’s seat and/or the adjustable
pedals recall may stop working. If this happens,
press the appropriate control for the area that
is not recalling for two seconds, after the
obstruction is removed. Then try recalling the
memory position again by pressing the appropriate
memory button. If the memory position is still
not recalling, see your GM dealer for service.
Easy Exit Seat
The control for this feature is located on the
driver’s door panel between buttons 1 and 2.
With the vehicle in PARK (P), the exit position can
be recalled by pressing the exit button. You will
hear a single beep. The driver’s seat will
move back.If the easy exit seat feature is on in the Driver
Information Center (DIC), automatic seat
movement will occur when the key is removed
from the ignition. See “EASY EXIT SEAT” under
DIC Vehicle Customization (With DIC Buttons)
on page 264for more information.
Further programming for the memory seat feature
can be done using the DIC. You can select or
not select the following:
The automatic easy exit seat feature
The remote memory seat recall feature

Folding and Tumbling the Second Row
Seat(s) from the Third Row Seats or
Outside
{CAUTION:
Be sure to return the seat to the
passenger seating position when nished.
Push and pull on the seat to make sure it
is locked in place. Never use the third row
seating position while the second row is
folded or folded and tumbled. This could
cause injury in a sudden stop or crash.
To fold and tumble the seat from the third row
seats, if your vehicle has them, do the following:
1. Make sure that there is nothing under,
in front of, or on the seat.
Notice:Folding a rear seat with the safety
belts still fastened may cause damage to the
seat or the safety belts. Always unbuckle
the safety belts and return them to their normal
stowed position before folding a rear seat.2. Press the automatic
seat release button
located on the
panel behind the
rear doors.
One press of the
button automatically
folds the seatback
at and tumbles
the seat forward.
There will be a slight
delay between the
folding of the
seatback and the
tumbling of the seat.
Bucket Seats (Second Row)
If your vehicle has bucket seats, the seatbacks
can be reclined, the seats can be folded for
additional cargo space, or folded and tumbled for
easy entry and exit to the third row seats,
if your vehicle has them. These seats will have
either the manual fold and tumble feature or
the automatic seat release fold and tumble feature.

Driver Position
Lap-Shoulder Belt
The driver has a lap-shoulder belt. Here is how to
wear it properly.
1. Close and lock the door.
2. Adjust the seat so you can sit up straight.
To see how, see “Seats” in the Index.
3. Pick up the latch plate and pull the belt across
you. Do not let it get twisted.
The shoulder belt may lock if you pull the belt
across you very quickly. If this happens, let
the belt go back slightly to unlock it. Then pull
the belt across you more slowly.

To unlatch the belt, just push the button on the
buckle. The belt should go back out of the way.
Before you close the door, be sure the belt is out
of the way. If you slam the door on it, you can
damage both the belt and your vehicle.
Shoulder Belt Height Adjustment
Before you begin to drive, move the shoulder belt
adjuster to the height that is right for you.
Adjust the height so that the shoulder portion of the
belt is centered on your shoulder. The belt should
be away from your face and neck, but not falling off
your shoulder. Improper shoulder belt height
adjustment could reduce the effectiveness of the
safety belt in a crash.
To move it down,
squeeze the buttons (A)
on the sides of the
height adjuster and
move the height adjuster
to the desired position.
You can move the adjuster up just by pushing up
on the shoulder belt guide.
After you move the adjuster to where you want it,
try to move it down without squeezing the
buttons to make sure it has locked into position.

If your vehicle has a roof-mounted rollover airbag
and a third row passenger seat, the airbag is
located in the ceiling above the rear windows for
the outside passenger positions in the third row.
{CAUTION:
If something is between an occupant and
an airbag, the bag might not in ate
properly or it might force the object into
that person causing severe injury or even
death. The path of an in ating airbag must
be kept clear. Do not put anything
between an occupant and an airbag, and
do not attach or put anything on the
steering wheel hub or on or near any
other airbag covering. And, if your vehicle
has roof-mounted rollover airbags, never
secure anything to the roof of your
vehicle by routing the rope or tiedown
through any door or window opening.
If you do, the path of an in ating side
impact airbag will be blocked. The path of
an in ating airbag must be kept clear.

What Will You See After an Airbag
In ates?
After a frontal airbag in ates, it quickly de ates, so
quickly that some people may not even realize the
airbag in ated. Roof-mounted rollover airbags
de ate more slowly and may still be at least partially
in ated minutes after the vehicle comes to rest.
Some components of the airbag module may be hot
for a short time. These components include the
steering wheel hub for the driver’s frontal airbag
and the instrument panel for the right front
passenger’s frontal airbag. For vehicles with
roof-mounted rollover airbags, the ceiling of your
vehicle near the side windows may be hot. The
parts of the bag that come into contact with you
may be warm, but not too hot to touch. There will be
some smoke and dust coming from the vents in the
de ated airbags. Airbag in ation does not prevent
the driver from seeing out of the windshield or being
able to steer the vehicle, nor does it stop people
from leaving the vehicle.
{CAUTION:
When an airbag in ates, there is dust in
the air. This dust could cause breathing
problems for people with a history of
asthma or other breathing trouble. To
avoid this, everyone in the vehicle should
get out as soon as it is safe to do so. If
you have breathing problems but cannot
get out of the vehicle after an airbag
in ates, then get fresh air by opening a
window or a door. If you experience
breathing problems following an airbag
deployment, you should seek medical
attention.
Your vehicle has a feature that may automatically
unlock the doors and turn the interior lamps on
when the airbags in ate (if battery power is
available). You can lock the doors again and turn
the interior lamps off by using the door lock
and interior lamp controls.
