ABS system
The ABS system enhances your safety by preventing the wheels from locking in the event of sudden braking or in conditions of poor road adherence. It enables you to retain control of the steering.
The functioning capability of all the electrical components essential to the ABS is monitored electronically before and during your journey. The ABS warning lamp lights up when you switch on the ignition: it should go out after a few seconds.
If the monitoring warning lamp does not go out, that means that the ABS has disconnected because there is a fault. Also, the fact that the monitoring warning lamp comes on durin g the journey shows that the ABS system is inactive. SYSTEM OF EMERGENCY BRAKING ASSISTANCE
The emergency braking assistance system helps you to attain the requ ired braking pressure more rapidly, thus to reduce the stopping distance. It operates as a function of the speed of action on the brake pedal, decreasing the resistance to this action. To prolong this action of the emerg ency braking assistance system, simply keep your foot on the brake pedal.

ELECTRONIC STABILITY PROGRAMME (ESP) AND TRACTION CONTROL (ASR)
These systems are closely associated with ABS and additional to it. In the event of a loss of control of the vehicle by the driver, the ESP system acts automatically on one or more wheels and also on the engine to bring the vehicle back on trajectory. The ASR system optimises traction and prevents wheel spin by acting on the brakes of the driving wheels as well as on the engine. It also improves steering stability during acceleration.
OPERATION
When either the ESP or the ASR system is brought into operation the warning lamp “ESP/ASR ” fl a s h e s .

OPERATIONAL ANOMALY
Should there be a system malfunction, the “ESP/ASR” warning lamp will light up.

NOTES ON RADIO RECEP-TION
Your radio will be subject to certain phenomena that are not encoun-tered by domestic systems.
The reception of AM and FM sig-nals may suffer from interference, which is caused by the nature and propagation of the signals and d o e s n o t r e fl e c t o n t h e q u a l i t y o f your radio installation.
In AM, the reception may be affected when passing under power lines or bridges, or when travelling through tunnels.
In FM mode, the reception may be affected by the distance from t h e s t a t i o n t r a n s m i t t e r , t h e r e fl e c t -ing of signals off obstacles (moun- t a i n s , h i l l s , t o w e r b l o c k s ) a n d r a d i o blackspots (no coverage from the s t a t i o n t r a n s m i t t e r ) .

MANUAL SEARCH
Manual search is via buttons Jor M.
By keeping button J or M pressed, you will be able to scroll through the waveband. Scrolling will stop as soon as you release the button. The radio will remain tuned to the frequency that is displayed.
TUNING SENSITIVITY
Automatic searches can be carried out according to two levels of sen-sitivity:To capture the most powerful transmitters, choose the local search mode “LO” (default o p t i o n ) .
To capture the weakest or most distant transmitters, choose the sensitive search mode “DX”.
