ABS system
The ABS system enhances your safety by preventing the wheels from locking in the event of sudden braking or in conditions of poor road adherence. It enables you to retain control of the steering.
The functioning capability of all the electrical components essential to the ABS is monitored electronically before and during your journey. The ABS warning lamp lights up when you switch on the ignition: it should go out after a few seconds.
If the monitoring warning lamp does not go out, that means that the ABS has disconnected because there is a fault. Also, the fact that the monitoring warning lamp comes on durin g the journey shows that the ABS system is inactive. I n b o t h c a s e s , t h e n o r m a l b r a k i n g s y s t e m r e m a i n s e f fi c i e n t , e x a c t l y a s o n a v e h i c l e w i t h o u t A B S . SYSTEM OF EMERGENCY BRAKING ASSISTANCE
The emergency braking assistance system helps you to attain the requ ired braking pressure more rapidly, thus to reduce the stopping distance. It operates as a function of the speed of action on the brake pedal, decreasing the resistance to this action. To prolong this action of the emerg ency braking assistance system, simply keep your foot on the brake pedal.
If the Electronic Parking Brake is off, the lighting of this wa rning lamp in conjunction with the STOP w a r n i n g l a m p i n d i c a t e s t h a t t h e b r a k e fl u i d l e v e l i s l o w o r t h a t t h e b r a k i n g d i s t r i b u t o r i s m a l -functioning. It is essential to stop the vehicle. ACTIVATION/DEACTIVATION
You can activate/deactivate the parking assistance by pressing button 1. When the parking assist-ance is inactive, the warning lamp on button 1 is lit up.
Activation/deactivation of the park-ing assistance is memorised when you stop the vehicle.
Remark: If you wish to tow a trailer, it is necessary to deactivate the parking assistance by pressing button 1. The warning lamp on the button lights up.
OPERATION
When you engage reverse gear, a s o u n d s i g n a l c o n fi r m s t o y o u that the system is active. The out-line of your vehicle appears on the screen. Any obstacles located to the rear or to the front of the vehi-cle can be detected.
Moving forwards at a speed less than around 10km / h (6mph ) , whether in neutral or in gear, the vehicle outline displays on the screen as soon as an obstacle is detected in front of the vehicle. Any obstacles located to the rear or to the front of the vehicle can be detected.
Remarks:The proximity sensors cannot detect objects that are immedi-ately under or over the bump-ers.
A thin object such as a spike, Aa bollard or similar, can only be detected at the start of the manœuvre but not when the vehicle arrives close up to it.In poor weather or in winter, you need to ensure that the sensors are not covered with mud or with ice or snow.

This driving assistance device warns you when you unwittingly cross a l a n e m a r k i n g ( e i t h e r a c o n t i n u o u s o r a d o t t e d l i n e o n t h e r o a d s u r f a c e ) . I t i s designed for use on motorways and dual carriageways, operating o nly at speeds above around 80 km / h (50 mph ).
ACTIVATION/DEACTIVATION
A press on button 1 activates the function, the warning lamp on the button lights up.
A second press on button 1 deactivates the function, the warning lamp on the button goes out.
W h e n y o u s t a r t t h e e n g i n e , t h e m o d e ( a c t i v a t e d / d e a c t i v a t e d ) s e l e c t e d w h e n you stopped the engine is retained.
OPERATION
A b o v e a s p e e d o f a r o u n d 8 0 k m / h ( 5 0 m p h ) , i f y o u c r o s s a l a n e m a r k i n g , y o u a r e a l e r t e d b y a v i b r a t i o n i n y o u r s e a t cushion:On the right hand side if you cross a lane marking to the right.
On the left hand side if you cross a lane marking to the left.
The system does not alert you if one of your direction indicators is operating and for approx. 20 seconds after the direction indicator has stopped.

In certain cases it may trigger an alert that is unnecessary, for e xample if the vehicle passes over a directional arrow or some unusual road marking.

Markings being worn. I n s u f fi c i e n t contrast with the general road surface.Sensors being negated by:
Driving in snow or heavy rain.Driving on roads that are covered with mud or water puddles.

LOCKING/UNLOCKING FROM THE INSIDE
A press on the control A operates the electric central locking and unlocking, provided all the doors are closed.
It is still possible to open the doors from the inside.
Remark: Control A is inactive if the vehicle has been locked using the remote control or the key.
The three statuses for locking/unlocking the vehicle are signalled by the warning lamp on the con-trol A:It fl a s h e s w h e n t h e v e h i c l e i s locked, engine stopped.
It lights up when the ignition is switched on, vehicle locked.It goes out when the vehicle is unlocked.

5. FRONT DEMISTING - DEICING
Press button 5 for rapid clear windows. The warning lamp comes on. This system controls the air condi- t i o n i n g , t h e a i r fl o w a n d t h e e n t r y o f a i r f r o m o u t s i d e . I t sends the ventilation towards the windscreen and side windows.
A press on the 1 button returns you to “AUTO” mode.
6. REAR DEMISTING - DEICING
Press button 6, with the engine running, to start a rapid deicing or demisting of the rear screen and rear view mirrors. The warning lamp comes on.
This mode stops automatically as a function of the out-side temperature. It can be paused by pressing again on button 6 or by stopping the engine.
In the latter case, demisting will resume when the engine is switched on again.Note: The heated rear screen operates independently of the automatic air conditioning.
7. AIR RECIRCULATION – ENTRY OF AIR FROM OUTSIDE
Press successively on button 7 to select air entry mode. The corresponding warning lamp lights up:Recirculation of air inside the cabinThis mode is for excluding unpleasant odours or smoke coming from outside. It should be cancelled as soon as possible to re-allow fresh air into the cabin and thus prevent misting.
Entry of air from outside“AUTO” mode is deactivated.

AUTOMATIC OPERATION
Activation
When you press button A, the automatic mode automatically and simultaneously controls the air fl o w and air distribution for the rear air conditioning.
The warning lamp on button Alights up.
It is recommended to keep both air vents open.
Deactivation
A press on any of the buttons B, C or D, deactivates the automatic operation of the rear air condition-ing.
The warning lamp on button Agoes out.
Remark: If the air conditioning in the front of the cabin is stopped (function deactivated in the “Air conditioning” menu or via the con-trol 4 f o r a d j u s t i n g t h e a i r fl o w ) , then the rear automatic air condi-tioning is not available.
ADJUSTING THE AIR FLOW
If you press buttons B or D you increase or decrease t h e fl o w f o r the rear air conditioning.
T h e n u m b e r o f d i o d e ( s ) l i t u p , c o m p o s i n g t h e s y m b o l f o r a i r fl o w (helix, situated between buttons Band D ) e x p r e s s e s i t s p o w e r l e v e l .
T o d e a c t i v a t e t h e a i r fl o w a n d a i r distribution for the rear air condi-tioning, press successively on but-ton D so that all the diodes go out.
DISTRIBUTION TO FOOT-WELLS/HEADS
Successive presses on button Cwill modify the distribution of the a i r fl o w .
Three directions are available:Passengers' heads.
Passenger footwells.PassengerPassengers' heads and foot-wells.
The arrow lit up indicates the dis-tribution of air chosen manually. In “AUTO” mode, no arrow lights up.
ADJUSTMENT OF THE FLOW OF AIR INTO THE STORAGE UNDER THE FRONT CEN-TRAL ARMREST
