CHANGING A WHEEL
Access to the tools
The tools are located in the spare
w h e e l , u n d e r t h e b o o t fl o o r .
To gain access to them:
open the boot,
l i f t t h e fl o o r ,
unclip and remove the box contai-
n i n g t h e t o o l s . List of tools

Access to the spare wheel
The spare wheel is installed in the

Removing the wheel

a q u a r t e r t u r n .
Raise the spare wheel towards
y o u r e a r w a r d s .
Remove the wheel from the boot

R e fi t t i n g t h e w h e e l Dimension of the spare wheel
I f y o u r s p a r e w h e e l i s o f d i f f e r e n t
dimensions to those on the vehicle
( i d e n t i fi e d b y a l a b e l ) , i t i s e s s e n t i a l
t o u s e i t o n l y o n a t e m p o r a r y b a s i s ,
to drive not above 50 mph (80 km/h)
a n d t o h a v e t h e o r i g i n a l w h e e l r e fi t -
t e d a s s o o n a s p o s s i b l e .
Switch on your hazard
warning lamps.
It is imperative to ensure
that the occupants get out of the
vehicle and wait in a safe location.
Never get underneath the vehi-
cle if it is supported only by the
jack; use an axle stand.

for your vehicle, do not use it for
other applications.
R e fi t t h e r e p a i r e d o r i g i n a l w h e e l
as soon as possible.
W i t h a s p a r e w h e e l fi t t e d , d r i v e
with caution.
The wheel should be correctly
p o s i t i o n e d fl a t i n t h e c e n t r e o f
its well. Aluminium wheels
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s e q u i p p e d w i t h a l u -
minium wheels and a steel spare
w h e e l , t h e n i f fi t t i n g t h e l a t t e r i t i s
normal to note that the heads of the
wheel bolts do not come to bear on
t h e w h e e l r i m .
The steel spare wheel is secured
b y t h e c o n i c a l t a p e r i n g o f t h e w h e e l
b o l t s ’ s h a f t s , s e e d i a g r a m .
W h e n r e fi t t i n g t h e a l u m i n i u m w h e e l ,
ensure that the wheel bolt heads are
i n u n d a m a g e d c o n d i t i o n .
R e fi t t h e w h e e l i n p l a c e .
U n d o t h e y e l l o w c e n t r a l s c r e w b y
a few turns, then position it at the
c e n t r e o f t h e w h e e l .
D o u p t h e c e n t r a l s c r e w u n t i l t i g h t
s o t h a t t h e w h e e l i s s e c u r e l y r e -
t a i n e d i n p l a c e .

Removing a wheel
List of operations

Switch off the ignition and en- g a g e fi r s t g e a r o r r e v e r s e g e a r ,
depending on the slope (for ve-
hicles with automatic gearbox,
s e l e c t p o s i t i o n P ) .
D e t a c h t h e e m b e l l i s h e r u s i n g t h e
wheelbrace 1 b y p u l l i n g c l o s e t o
t h e v a l v e .
For vehicles with aluminium
wheels, slide the embellisher re-
moval tool 3 into the slot in the
c e n t r a l e m b e l l i s h e r a n d a p p l y
fi r m l e v e r a g e t o d e t a c h .
Slacken the wheel bolts using
the wheelbrace 1 .
F o r v e h i c l e s fi t t e d w i t h s e c u r i t y
w h e e l b o l t s , s l a c k e n t h e s e c u r i t y
bolts using the socket 4 fi t t e d o n
the wheelbrace 1 .
Position the jack 2 under the bo-
d y s h e l l , e x a c t l y a s i n t h e i l l u s t r a -
tion at the mark A , closest to the
w h e e l t h a t i s t o b e r e p l a c e d .
Operate the jack 2 until its base
i s i n c o n t a c t w i t h t h e g r o u n d .
Make sure that the base of the
j a c k i s v e r t i c a l l y b e l o w t h e j a c -
k i n g p o i n t u s e d .
R a i s e t h e v e h i c l e .
Remove the bolts and disengage
t h e w h e e l . List of operations
P o s i t i o n t h e w h e e l o n t h e h u b .
D o u p t h e 3 b o l t s b y h a n d .
P o s i t i o n t h e 4 t h b o l t .
Pretighten the bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 . F o r v e h i c l e s fi t t e d
w i t h s e c u r i t y w h e e l b o l t s , p r e t i g h -
t e n t h e s e c u r i t y b o l t u s i n g t h e s o c -
ket 4 fi t t e d o n t h e w h e e l b r a c e 1 .
Retract the jack 2 a n d d i s e n g a g e i t .
Tighten the wheel bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 a n d t h e s e c u r i t y
bolts using the socket 4 .
Reposition the embellisher, com-
m e n c i n g b y p l a c i n g t h e s l o t a t
the valve, pressing it home with
t h e p a l m o f y o u r h a n d .
F o r v e h i c l e s fi t t e d w i t h a l u m i - nium wheels, reclip the central
e m b e l l i s h e r i n p l a c e .
Stow the tools and the wheel in
t h e b o o t .
C h e c k t h e t y r e p r e s s u r e a n d
also have the wheel balancing
c h e c k e d .

This repair kit is available from
CITROËN dealers.
It is designed to repair most punc-
tures which could affect the tyre, lo-
cated on the tyre tread or shoulder.
Avoid removing any foreign bodies
which have penetrated the tyre.
TEMPORARY PUNCTURE
REPAIR KIT
Complete system consisting of a
compressor and an incorporated
sealant cartridge which permits
tem-
porary repair of the tyre so that you
can drive to the nearest garage.
The kit is stowed in the boot below the
fl o o r . I t i s fi t t e d i n t h e t o o l b o x , l o c a t e d
below the storage compartment. Using the kit
This procedure, comprising several
steps, must be carried out in full.
Switch off the ignition.
Turn the selector A to the
"SEALANT" position.
Check that the switch B is in po-
sition "0" .
Connect the white pipe C to the
valve of the tyre to be repaired.
Connect the compressor's electric
plug to the vehicle's 12 V socket.

to remind you that a wheel is in
temporary use.
Start the vehicle and leave the
engine running.

If after around 5 to 7 minutes the
pressure is not attained, this indi-
cates that the tyre is not repaira-
ble; contact a CITROËN dealer for
assistance.
Switch on the compressor by
moving the switch B to position
"1" until the tyre pressure rea-
ches 2.0 bars.
Remove the kit, taking care to
avoid to avoid staining your vehi-
c l e w i t h t r a c e s o f fl u i d . K e e p t h e
kit to hand.
D r i v e i m m e d i a t e l y f o r a p p r o x i m a -
t e l y t h r e e m i l e s ( fi v e k i l o m e t r e s ) ,
at reduced speed (between 15
a n d 3 5 m p h [ 2 0 a n d 6 0 k m / h ] ) ,
to plug the puncture.
Stop to check the repair and the
tyre pressure using the kit.
Turn the selector A to the AIR
position.
Connect the black pipe D to the
valve of the wheel.
