This indicator has two functions:
Itcomesonwhenyouturnthe
ignition switch to the ON (II)
position. It is a reminder to check
the parking brake. A beeper
sounds if you drive with the
parking brake not fully released.
Driving with the parking brake not
fully released can damage the
brakes and tires.
You will also see a ‘‘RELEASE
PARKING BRAKE’’ message on the
multi-info rmation display (see page
). If
it remains on after you have
fully released the parking brake
while the engine is running, or if it
comes on while driving, there
could be a problem with the brake
system. For more information, see
page .
You will also see a ‘‘BRAKE FLUID
LOW’’ or ‘‘CHECK BRAKE
SYSTEM’’ message on the multi-
info rmation display (see page ).The
brake system indicator (amber)
norm ally comes on for a few seconds
when you turn the ignition switch to
the ON (II) position. If the indicator
is still on or comes on again after the
engine starts, there is a problem in
the brake system including the
electric vacuum pump. If this
happens, have your vehicle checked
by your dealer. For more information,
see page .
You will also see a ‘‘CHECK BRAKE
SYSTEM’’ message on the multi-
info rmation display (see page ).

This indicator normally comes on for
a few seconds when you turn the
ignition switch to the ON (II)
position.
If it comes on while driving, it
indicates that one or more of your
vehicl e’s tires are extremely low on
pressure. This
indicator normally comes on for
a few seconds when you turn the
ignition switch to the ON (II)
position.
If this indicator comes on and stays
on at any other time, or if it does not
come on when you turn the ignition
switch to the ON (II) position, there
is a problem with the TPMS. With
this indicator on, the low tire
pressure indicator and the tire
pressu re monitor will not come on
when a tire loses pressure. Take the
vehicle to your dealer to have the
system checked.
If
this happens, pull to the side of the
road when it is safe. If it is becau se
of a flat tire, replace the flat tire with
thecompactspare(seepage ),
and have the flat tire repaired as
soon as possible. If two or more tires
are underinflated, call a professional
towing service (see page ). For
more information, see page .
Check
the tire pressure monitor on
the multi -information display and
determinethecause(seepage ).
You
may see one or more of the low
pressu re tire positions the display
are displayed along with this
message. You will also see a ‘‘CHECK TIRE
PRESSURE’’ message on the multi-
info rmation display (see page ).
Check which tire has lost pressure
on the tire pressure monitor (see
page ), and determine the cause. 84

Non-Acura wheels can cause
excessive stress on suspension
components and are not
compatible with the tire pressu re
monitoring system.
Larger or smaller wheels and tires
can interfere with the operation of
your vehicle’s anti-lock brakes and
other systems.
Modifying your steering wheel or
any other part of your vehicle’s
safety features can make the
systems ineffective.
If you plan to modify your vehicle,
consult your dealer.
Removing
parts from your vehicle,
or replacing componen ts with non-
Acura components could seriously
affect your vehicl e’s handling,
stability, and reliability.
Herearesomeexamples:
Raising your vehicle with a non-
Acura suspension kit can affect
the handling and stability.
Befo
re installing any accesso ry:
Make sure the accessory does not
obscure any lights, or interfere
with proper vehicle operation or
perf ormance.
Be sure electronic accessories do
not overload electrical circuits
(see page ) or interf ere with
proper operation of your vehicle.
Bef ore installing any electronic
accessory, have the installer
contact your dealer f or assistance.
If possible, have your dealer
inspect the f inal installation.
Do not install accessories on the
side pillars or across the rear
windows. In these areas,
accessories may interf ere with
proper operation of the side
curtain airbags. Lowering the vehicle with a non-
Acura suspension kit that
signif icantly reduces ground
clearance can allow the
undercarriage to hit speed bumps
or other raised objects, which
could cause the airbags to deploy.

Your vehicle is equipped with a tire
pressure monitoring system (TPMS)
that turns on every time you start the
engine and monitors the pressure in
your tires while driving. Al
though your tire pressure is
monito red, you must manually check
thetirepressuresmonthly.
Each tire, including the spare, should
be checked monthly when cold, and
set to the recommended inflation
pressure as specified on the vehicle
placard and in the owner’s manual
(see page ).
Driving on a signifi cantly under-
inflated tire causes the tire to
ov erheat and can lead to tire failure.
Under-infl ation also reduces fuel
efficiency and tire tread life, and may
affect the vehicle’s handling and
stopping ability. When
the low tire pressure indicator
is on, one or more of your tires is
signifi cantly underinflated. You
should stop and check your tires as
soon as possible, and inflate them to
the proper pressure as indicated on
the vehicle’s tire information placard.
Each
tire has its own pressure
sensor. If the air pressure of a tire
becomes significantly low, the
sensor in that tire immediately sends
a signal that causes the low tire
pressure indicator to come on.
With this indicator on, you will see
which tire is losing the pressu re on
the multi-information display along
with a ‘‘CHECK TIRE PRESSU RE’’
message (see page ).

Becausetirepressurevariesby
temperature and other conditions,
the low tire pressure indicator may
come on unexp ectedly.
For example, if you check and fill
your tires in a warm area, then drive
in extremely cold weather, the tire
pressure will be lower than
measured and could be underinflated
and cause the low tire pressure
indicator to come on. Or, if you
check and adjust your tire pressure
in cooler conditions, and drive into
extremely hot conditions, the tire
maybecomeoverinflated.However,
the low tire pressure indicator will
not come on if the tires are
overinflated.
Refer to page for tire inflation
guidelines. This
indicator comes on and stays on
if there is a problem with the tire
pressure monitoring system.
If this happens, the system will shut
off and no longer monitor tire
pressures. Have the system checked
by your dealer as soon as possible. If
you have a flat tire, the low tire
indicator and tire pressure monitor
will come on. Replace the indicated
flat tire with the compact spare tire
(see page ).
After you replace the flat tire with
the spare, the low tire pressure
indicator stays on. This is normal;
the system is not monitoring the
spare tire pressure. Manually check
the spare tire pressure to be sure it
is correct.
Never use a puncture-repairing agent
in a f lat tire. If used, you will have to
replace the tire pressure sensor.

Each wheel is equipped with a tire
pressure sensor mounted inside the
tire behind the valve stem. You must
use TPMS specific wheels. It is
recommended that you always have
your tires serviced by your dealer or
qualified technician.
Your vehicle has a tire pressure
monitor on the info rmation display. The
tire pressure monitor uses the
same display as the door and tailgate
open monitor. When any of the tires
has low pressure, the low tire
pressure indicator on the instrument
panel comes on, and you will also see
which tire is losing the pressu re on
the tire pressure monitor.
If the TPMS indicator comes on, the
tire pressure monitor does not work
(see page ).
If the low tire pressure indicator and
the low tire position on the low tire
pressure monitor do not go out af ter
inf lating the tires to the specif ied
values, have your dealer check the
system as soon as possible. 73
