SKY-DOME SUNROOF
(for versions/markets,
where provided)
The sunroof consists of two wide panes
(a fixed one and a moving one), fitted with
manually-operated sun curtains. Sun cur-
tains can be used in the “wide open” and
“wide shut” positions (fixed intermediate
positions are not provided). To open sun
curtains: take handle A-fig. 67, release it
and then guide it to the “wide open” po-
sition as shown by the arrows. To close
sun curtains reverse this procedure. Sun-
roof only works with ignition key at MAR.
Controls A-B fig. 67set near the front
ceiling light on the dedicated control pan-
el, shall be used to open/close the sunroof.
To open
Press and keep pressed button B-fig. 67,
the front pane will set to the “spoiler” po-
sition; press button B-fig. 67 again for
over half a second to make the sunroof
sliding automatically to the wide open po-
sition; press the button to stop the sun-
roof at an intermediate position. To close
When in wide open position, press but-
ton A-fig. 68for over half a second to set
the front pane to the “spoiler” position;
press the button again to stop the sunroof
at an intermediate position; press button
A-fig. 68again and keep it pressed to
close the sunroof completely.
Use the sunroof only at
“spoiler” position if cross roof
racks are fitted.
Do not open the sunroof if
there is snow or ice on it: it
could be damaged.
When leaving the car, the ig-
nition key should be removed
to prevent the sunroof from being op-
erated inadvertently and harming any-
one remaining in the car. Improper use
of the sunroof can be dangerous. Be-
fore and during its operation ensure
that any passengers are not at risk
from the moving roof either by per-
sonal objects getting caught in the
mechanism or by being injured by it di-
rectly.

AND CONTROLS
For safety reasons the bon-
net must be closed properly
to avoid its opening while the car is
travelling. Therefore, always check it
is properly closed and the catch en-
gaged. Should you notice that the
catch is not perfectly engaged when
travelling, stop the car immediately
and close the bonnet.
WARNING
If the supporting rod is not
positioned correctly the bon-
net may fall violently.
WARNING
Carry out operations only
when the car is stationary.
WARNING
ROOF RACK/SKI RACK
Front couplings are set at points A-fig. 92.
Front couplings are set at points Bnear
the silk-screen printing (
O) on rear side
windows.
IMPORTANT Strictly follow the installa-
tion instructions contained in the kit. In-
stallation hall be carried out by skilled per-
sonnel.
After travelling a few kilo-
metres, check that the cou-
pling fastening screws are tight.
WARNING
Strictly comply with current
law regulations concerning
max. overall dimensions.
Distribute the load evenly
and when driving, bear in
mind the increased sensitivity of the
car to side wind.
WARNING
Never exceed the permitted
weight (see section “Techni-
cal specifications”).

CONTAINING
RUNNING COSTS
Here are some suggestions which may
help you to keep the running costs of your
car down and lower the amount of toxic
emissions released into the atmosphere.
GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS
Car maintenance
Have checks and adjustments carried out
in accordance with the “Service schedule”.Tyres
Check the pressure of the tyres routine-
ly at an interval of no more than 4 weeks:
if the pressure is too low, consumption
levels increase as resistance to rolling is
higher.
Unnecessary loads
Do not travel with too much luggage
stowed in the boot. The weight of the car
(especially when driving in town) and its
trim greatly affects consumption and sta-
bility.
Roof rack/ski rack
Remove the roof rack or the ski rack from
the roof as soon as they are no longer
used. These accessories lower air pene-
tration and adversely affect consumption
levels. When needing to carry particular-
ly voluminous objects, preferably use a
trailer.Electric devices
Use electric devices only for the amount
of time needed. Rear heated window, ad-
ditional headlights, windscreen wipers and
heater fan need a considerable amount of
energy, therefore increasing the require-
ment of current increases fuel consump-
tion (up to +25% in the urban cycle).
Climate control
The air conditioner is an additional load
which greatly affects the engine leading to
higher consumption (on average up to
+20%). When the temperature outside
the car permits it, use the air vents where
possible.
Spoilers
The use of non-certified aerodynamic
items may adversely affect air drag and
consumption levels.

Fuel consumption according to Directive 1999/100/EC (litres x 100 km)
Versions Urban Extra-urban Combined
1.4 T-JET9,6 5,3 6,9
❒extra-urban cycle: frequent accelerat-
ing in all gears, simulating extraurban
use of the car: speed varies between 0
and 120 km/h;
❒combined consumption: is calculated
weighing about 37% of urban cycle con-
sumption and about 63% of extraurban
consumption.
FUEL
CONSUMPTION
The fuel consumption figures given in the
table below are determined on the basis
of the homologation tests set down by
specific European Directives.
The procedures below are followed for
measuring consumption:
❒urban cycle: cold starting followed by
driving that simulates urban use of the
car;IMPORTANT The type of route, traffic
situations, weather conditions, driving
style, general conditions of the car, trim
level/equipment/accessories, load, climate
control system, roof rack, other situations
that affect air drag may lead to different
fuel consumption levels than those mea-
sured.
