The air conditioning only operates
when the engine is running. When the engine is cold, to prevent
too great a distribution of cold air, the
a i r l o w w i l l r e a c h i t s o p t i m u m l e v e l
gradually.
The driver and his front
passenger can each adjust
the temperature to their re-
quirements.
The value indicated on the
display corresponds to a level of
comfort and not to a temperature in
degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit.
Turn control 2 or 3 to the left or to
the right respectively to decrease or
increase this value.
A setting around the v a l u e 2 1 provides
optimum comfort. However, depend-
ing on your requirements, a setting be-
tween 18 and 24 is normal. For optimum comfort, you are ad-
vised to avoid a left/right setting dif-
ference of more than 3.
For maximum cooling or heating of the
passenger compartment, it is possible
to go below the value 15 by turning un-
til
"LO" is displayed or above the value
27 by turning until "HI" is displayed.

In this case, select the automatic vis-
ibility programme.
The system automatically controls

distribution of the ventilation to the
windscreen and side windows.
To switch it off, press button 4 again
or press the "AUTO" button, the
button"s indicator light switches off
and "AUTO" is displayed.

Press the "AUTO" button.
The "AUTO" symbol is dis-
played.
We recommend the use of
this mode: it permits auto-
matic and optimised adjustment of
all of the functions, passenger com-
p a r t m e n t t e m p e r a t u r e , a i r l o w , a i r
distribution and air recirculation, in
accordance with the comfort value
that you have chosen. This system is
designed to operate effectively in all
seasons, with the windows closed.

3 . P a s s e n g e r s i d e a d j u s t m e n t On entering the vehicle, if
the interior temperature is
much colder or warmer than
the comfort value, there is no
need to change the value displayed
in order to obtain the comfort re-
quired. The system corrects the dif-
ference in temperature automatically
and as quickly as possible.

After the engine has stopped, certain
functions (windscreen wiper, electric
windows, sunroof, courtesy lights,
audio equipment, telephone, dipped
headlamps, etc.) can only be used for
a combined duration of approximately
thirty minutes, to prevent discharging
the battery.
Once the thirty minutes are over, a
switching to economy mode message
appears on the multi-function display
and the active functions are put on
standby.
These functions are reactivated
automatically next time the vehicle is
driven.
In order to resume the use of these
functions immediately, the engine
must be started and left to run for a
few minutes.
The time available to you will then
be double the duration for which the
engine is left running. However, this
p e r i o d w i l l a l w a y s b e b e t w e e n i v e
and thirty minutes. A l a t b a t t e r y p r e v e n t s t h e
engine from starting.
L O A D R E D U C T I O N
F U N C T I O N
When driving, certain functions (air
conditioning, heated rear screen,
heating system for passenger
compartment of diesel vehicles, etc.)
may be switched off temporarily,
depending on the level of battery
charge.
Reactivation of these functions is
automatic, once the battery charge is
s u f i c i e n t .
Note: at the risk of discharging the
battery, the functions that have been
switched off may be reactivated
manually.
Note: if the telephone is
being used when economy
mode starts, it will still be
p o s s i b l e t o i n i s h t h e c a l l .
