When parking on a slope, direct
your wheels to chock them against
the pavement, pull the handbrake
and engage a gear.
HANDBRAKE
Mechanical brake to hold the vehicle
when stationary.
Applying
Pull the handbrake to immobilise
your vehicle. When the vehicle is being
driven, if this warning light and
STOP the warning light come
on, accompanied by an audible
signal and a message on the multi-func-
tion display, this indicates that the hand-
brake is still on or has not been properly
released.
Releasing
Pull on the handle and press the
button A to release the handbrake.

Parking the vehicle
Immobilise the vehicle where it does
n o t b l o c k t r a f i c : i f p o s s i b l e , p a r k t h e
vehicle on level, stable and non-
slippery ground.
Apply the handbrake, switch off the
i g n i t i o n a n d e n g a g e i r s t g e a r * t o
lock the wheels.
If necessary, place a chock under
the wheel diagonally opposite the
wheel to be changed.
Never go underneath a vehicle raised
using a jack; use an axle stand.
Removing the wheel
List of operations
Remove the chromed bolt cover from
each of the bolts using the tool 3 .
Fit the anti-theft socket 4 on the
wheelbrace 1 to unlock the anti-theft
bolt.
Unlock the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
Place the jack 2 in contact with one
of the two front A or rear B locations
provided on the underframe, which-
ever is closest to the wheel to be
changed.
Extend the jack 2 until its base plate
is in contact with the ground. Ensure
that the centreline of the jack base
plate is directly below the location A
or B used.
Raise the vehicle until there is suf-
i c i e n t s p a c e b e t w e e n t h e w h e e l a n d
the ground to admit the spare (not
punctured) wheel easily.
Remove the bolts and store them in
a clean place.
Remove the wheel.
