Have the ba tter ies charged at a qualifi ed
speciali st workshop. Mercedes-Benz recom-
me nds that you use a Mercedes-Benz Servi ce
Ce ntre for this purpose .If yo u are charging the
bat teries yourself, observe the opera ting inst ruc-
ti ons for you rbatte ry charge r.

6 Make sure that the battery charger is
swi tche doff and connec tit to the ter-
mi nals on the star ter battery .Observe
the note sin the oper ating inst ruc tions

6 Refitt he charged sta rterbatter yand
fo ld the bar do wn. 6
Fit the st arte r battery inthe engine
co mp artment.
6 Fold the retainer down.
! Makesure that the ba seplate and the ba t-
te ry sec uring rings are fit tedse cu rely.
! Alway sconnect the ba ttery in theord erde-

Jum p-starting
If the starter battery is disc harged and the
ve hicle do es not star t, the engine can be
ju mp -starte dfrom another vehi cle using
ju mp leads. Obse rve the followi ngpoints:

release the elec tric parking brake manually
