In some coun tries ,de viati ons inthe opera-
ti on are possible du eto legal requi rements
an d self -imp osed obligati ons.In these
co unt ries , the dipped-beam headlamps
ar es witched on whe nthe engi neisstar t-
ed.
In co un tries in which da ytime drivin g lights
are no ta lega lre quir ement,you can
cha ngethis setting using th eon-boa rd
compute r (
= pa ge 286).
i If you drive in countries in whic htraffic
drives on the opposite side of the road tothe
co untry where theve hicleisr egiste red ,oncom-
ing traffic maybe dazzled bythe asy mmetrical
dipped- beam headlamps. Hav eth ehe adlamps
changed tosymm etrical dipped beam when driv-
ing in these countries. You can ob tain infor ma-
