CAUTION:
o Because the sensor that activates the SRS airbag is connected with the pre-tensioner seat belt, the SRS airbag warning light on theinstrument panel will blink for approximately 6 seconds after the ignition key has been turned to the"ON" position and then it should turn off.
o If the pre-tensioner seat belt is not
working properly, this warninglight will illuminate even if there is no malfunction of the SRS airbag system. If the SRS airbag warning lightdoes not illuminate when the igni- tion key is turned to "ON", or if it remains illuminated after blinkingfor approximately 6 seconds, or if it illuminates whilst the vehicle is being driven, please have anHyundai authorised repairer in- spect the pre-tensioner seat belt or SRS airbag system as soon aspossible. WARNING:
o Pre-tensioners are designed to operate only one time. After acti- vation, pre-tensioner seat belts must be replaced. All seat belts, ofany type, should always be re- placed after they have been worn during a collision.
o The pre-tensioner seat belt assem- bly mechanisms become hot dur-ing activation. Do not touch thepre-tensioner seat belt assemblies for several minutes after they have been activated.
o Do not attempt to inspect or re-
place the pre-tensioner seat beltsyourself. This must be done by an Hyundai authorised repairer.
o Do not strike the pre-tensioner seat belt assemblies.
o Do not attempt to service or repair
the pre-tensioner seat belt system in any manner. o Improper handling of the pre-
tensioner seat belt assemblies, and failure to heed the warnings to not strike, modify, inspect, replace, service or repair the pre-tensioner seat belt assemblies may lead to improper operation or inadvertentactivation and serious injury.
o Always wear the seat belts when
driving or travelling in a motorvehicle.

The SRS service reminder indicator (SRI) on the instrument panel will blinkfor about 6 seconds after the ignition key is turned to the "ON" position or after the engine is started, after whichthe SRI should go out. The airbag modules are located both in the centre of the steering wheel and in the front passenger's panel above the glove box. When the SRSCM detects a considerable impact to the front of the vehicle, it will automatically deploy the airbags. Upon deployment, tear seams molded directly into the pad covers will sepa- rate under pressure from the expansion of the airbags. Further opening of thecovers then allows full inflation of the airbags. A fully inflated airbag in combination with a properly worn seat belt slows the driver's or the passenger's forward mo- tion, thus reducing the risk of head or chest injury. After complete inflation, the airbag im- mediately starts deflating, enabling thedriver to maintain forward visibility.
!
CAUTION:
Do not install or place any accesso- ries (drink holder, cassette holder, sticker, etc) on the front passenger's panel above the glove box in a ve-hicle with passenger's side air bag. Such objects may become danger- ous projectiles and cause injury ifthe passenger's side air bag inflates.

!WARNING:
o When the SRS is activated, there may be a loud noise and fine dust will be released throughout the vehicle. These conditions are nor-mal and are not hazardous. How- ever, the fine dust generated dur- ing airbag deployment may causeskin irritation. Be sure to wash your hands and face thoroughly with lukewarm water and a mildsoap after an accident in which the airbags were deployed.
o The SRS can function only when the ignition key is in the "ON" position. If the SRS SRI does notcome on, or continuously remains on, after flashing for about 6 sec- onds when the ignition key isturned to the "ON" position, or after the engine is started, or comes on whilst driving, the SRS is notworking properly. If this occurs, have your vehicle immediately in- spected by your Hyundaiauthorised repairer.!

CAUTION:
When installing a container of liquid air freshener inside a vehicle, do not place it near the instrument cluster nor on the instrument panel pad surface. If there is any leakage from the air freshener onto these areas (instrument cluster, instrument panel pad or air ventilator), it may damage these parts. If the liquid from the air freshener does leak onto these ar- eas, wash them with water immedi- ately. o Before you replace a fuse or dis-
connect a battery terminal, turn the ignition key to the "LOCK" position or remove the ignition key. Never remove or replace theair bag related fuse(s) when the ignition key is in the "ON" posi- tion. Failure to heed this warningwill cause the SRS SRI to illumi- nate.

B240C03Y-GAT SRS Care The SRS is virtually maintenance-free and there are no parts you can safely service by yourself. The entire SRSsystem must be inspected by an Hyundai authorised repairer in 10 years after the date that the vehicle wasmanufactured. Any work on the SRS system, such as removing, installing, repairing, or any work on the steering wheel must be performed by a qualified Hyundai tech-nician. Improper handling of the SRS system may result in serious personal injury.
B240C01HP WARNING:
o Extreme Hazard! Do not use a rear- ward facing child restraint on a seat protected by an airbag in front of it!
o Do not install a child restraint sys- tem in the front passenger seatposition.A child restraint system must
never be placed in the front seat. The infant or child could be se-verely injured by an airbag de- ployment in case of an accident.
o Modification to SRS components or wiring, including the addition of any kind of badges to the padcovers or modifications to the body structure, can adversely affect SRS performance and lead to possibleinjury.
o For cleaning the airbag pad cov-
ers, use only a soft, dry cloth orone which has been moistened with plain water. Solvents or clean- ers could adversely affect theairbag covers and proper deploy- ment of the system.
o Do not place any objects (an um-
brella, bag, etc.) between the front door and the front seat. Such ob-jects may become dangerous pro- jectiles and cause injury if the supplemental side impact air baginflates.
o To prevent unexpected deploy-
ment of the side impact air bagthat may result in personal injury, avoid impact to the side airbag sensor when the ignition key ison.

Under normal circumstances, the light will illuminate when the ignition is turned"on" and will be extinguished when the engine is started. If the oil pressure warning light illumi-nates whilst the engine is running, stop the engine immediately and check the engine oil level. If the level is insuffi-cient, add the required amount of oil as indicated by the engine oil dipstick. If the light fails to extinguish when theengine is restarted, do not continue to operate the vehicle. If the oil pressure light illuminates dur-ing normal operation and the cause is not an insufficient oil level, or the light fails to illuminate when the ignition isturned "on", contact the nearest Hyundai authorised repairer before further oper- ating the vehicle. Malfunction Indicator
Light
This light illuminates when there is amalfunction of an exhaust gas relatedcomponent, and the system is not func- tioning properly so that the exhaust gas regulation values are not satisfied. Thislight will illuminate when the ignition key is tuned to the "ON" position, and then it will go out after the engine start. B260P02Y-EAT ABS Service Reminder Indicator (SRI)(Not all models)
When the key is turned to the "ON" position, the Anti-Lock Brake System SRI will come on and then go off in a few seconds. If the ABS SRI remains on, comes on whilst driving, or does not come on when the key is turned to the "ON" position, this indicates that there may be a problem with the ABS. If this occurs, have your vehicle checked by your Hyundai authorised repairer as soon as possible. The nor- mal braking system will still be opera- tional, but without the assistance of the anti-lock brake system.
