B080B02FC-EAT FRONT SEATS Front Seat Rake Adjustment The front seat rake adjustment is per- formed by raising the lever at the front of the seat base and sliding the seat to the desired position. At this position thelever should be released and the seat rocked to and fro to ensure that the mechanism has locked.
WARNING:
To ensure the seat is locked se-curely, attempt to move the seat for-ward or rearward without using the lock release lever. SB070C1-E Front Seat Recline Adjustment The front seat back recline angle may be adjusted by leaning forward slightly and raising the recline adjustment lever at the side of the seat. When theseatback is at the desired angle, the lever should be released. Ensure that the seatback is locked before drivingthe vehicle.
SB070D3-E Head Restraint Adjustment To raise the head restraint, pull it up. To lower it, push it down whilst pressing the lock knob. For maximum effective- ness in the event of an accident, therestraint must be adjusted so that the restraint is approximately at the level of the seat occupant's eyes. The restraintmust never be so adjusted that it is centred about the level of the seat occupant's neck.

!
When the vehicle stops suddenly, or if the occupant tries to lean forward tooquickly, the seat belt retractor will lock into position. However, in certain frontal collisions, the pre-tensioner will acti-vate and pull the seat belt into tighter contact against the occupant's body. The seat belt pre-tensioner system consists mainly of the following compo-nents. Their locations are shown in the illustration.
1.SRS airbag warning light
2.Seat belt pre-tensioner assembly
3.SRS control module WARNING:
To obtain maximum benefit from apre-tensioner seat belt:
1. The seat belt must be worn cor- rectly.
2. The seat belt must be adjusted to
the correct position. NOTE:
o Both the driver's and front
passenger's pre-tensioner seat belts will be activated in certain frontal collisions. The pre- tensioner seat belts can be acti-vated with the airbags. The pre- tensioners will be activated under these conditions even if the seatbelts are not being worn at the time of the collision.
o When the pre-tensioner seat belts are activated, a loud noise may beheard and fine dust, which may appear to be smoke, may be vis-ible in the passenger compart- ment. These are normal operating conditions and are not hazard-ous.
o Although it is harmless, the fine
dust may cause skin irritation andshould not be breathed for pro- longed periods. Wash your hands and face thoroughly after an acci-dent in which the pre-tensioner seat belts were activated.

CAUTION:
o Because the sensor that activates the SRS airbag is connected with the pre-tensioner seat belt, the SRS airbag warning light on theinstrument panel will blink for approximately 6 seconds after the ignition key has been turned to the"ON" position and then it should turn off.
o If the pre-tensioner seat belt is not
working properly, this warninglight will illuminate even if there is no malfunction of the SRS airbag system. If the SRS airbag warning lightdoes not illuminate when the igni- tion key is turned to "ON", or if it remains illuminated after blinkingfor approximately 6 seconds, or if it illuminates whilst the vehicle is being driven, please have anHyundai authorised repairer in- spect the pre-tensioner seat belt or SRS airbag system as soon aspossible. WARNING:
o Pre-tensioners are designed to operate only one time. After acti- vation, pre-tensioner seat belts must be replaced. All seat belts, ofany type, should always be re- placed after they have been worn during a collision.
o The pre-tensioner seat belt assem- bly mechanisms become hot dur-ing activation. Do not touch thepre-tensioner seat belt assemblies for several minutes after they have been activated.
o Do not attempt to inspect or re-
place the pre-tensioner seat beltsyourself. This must be done by an Hyundai authorised repairer.
o Do not strike the pre-tensioner seat belt assemblies.
o Do not attempt to service or repair
the pre-tensioner seat belt system in any manner. o Improper handling of the pre-
tensioner seat belt assemblies, and failure to heed the warnings to not strike, modify, inspect, replace, service or repair the pre-tensioner seat belt assemblies may lead to improper operation or inadvertentactivation and serious injury.
o Always wear the seat belts when
driving or travelling in a motorvehicle.

44WARNING AND INDICATOR LIGHTS
SB210C1-FSRS (Airbag) Service Reminder Indicator Light
The SRS service reminder indicator (SRI) comes on and flashes for about 6seconds after the ignition key is turned to the "ON" position or after the engine is started, after which it will go out. This light also comes on when the SRS is not working properly. If the SRI does not come on, or continu- ously remains on after flashing for about 6 seconds when you turned the ignitionkey to the "ON" position or started the engine, or if it comes on whilst driving, have the SRS inspected by an Hyundaiauthorised repairer.
B260U01TB-EAT Immobiliser Indicator Light
This indicator light comes on for some seconds after the ignition key is turnedto the "ON" position. At this time, you can start the engine. The light goes out after the engine is running. In case thislight goes out before you start the en- gine, you must turn to the "LOCK" position and restart the engine. The electronic stability program indica- tors change operation according to theignition switch position and whether the system is in operation or not. They will illuminate when the ignitionkey is turned to the "ON" position, but should go out after three seconds. If the ESP or ESP-OFF indicator stays on,take your car to your Hyundai authorised repairer and have the system checked. See section 2 for more informationabout the ESP.
