!WARNING:
o Do not install a child restraint seat at the center of the rear seat using the vehicle's outboard rear seat ISOFIX anchors. The ISOFIX an- chors are only provided for the leftand right outboard rear seating positions. Do not misuse the ISOFIX anchors by attempting toattach a child restraint seat in the middle of the rear seat to the ISOFIX anchors. In a crash, the child re-straint seat ISOFIX attachments may not be strong enough to se- cure the child restraint seat prop-erly in the center of the rear seat and may break, causing serious injury or death.
o When using the vehicle’s “ISOFIX” system to install a child restraintsystem in the rear seat, all unused

tection than that offered by the seat belt system alone, in case of a frontal im-pact of sufficient severity. NOTE: Be sure to read information about the SRS on the labels provided onthe backside of the sun visor and in the glove box.
WARNING:
o As its name implies, the SRS is designed to work with, and be supplemental to, the driver's and the passenger's three point seat belt systems and is not a substi-tute for them. Therefore your seat belts must be worn at all times while the vehicle is in motion. Inaddition, the airbags deploy only in certain frontal impact condi- tions severe enough to causesignificant injury to the vehicle occupants.

o Before you replace a fuse or dis-
connect a battery terminal, turn the ignition key to the "LOCK" position or remove the ignitionkey. Never remove or replace the air bag related fuse(s) when the ignition key is in the "ON" posi-tion. Failure to heed this warning will cause the SRS SRI to illumi- nate.!WARNING:
o When the SRS is activated, there may be a loud noise and fine dust will be released throughout thevehicle. These conditions are normal and are not hazardous. However, the fine dust generatedduring airbag deployment may cause skin irritation. Wash your hands and face thoroughly withlukewarm water and a mild soap after an accident in which the airbags were deployed.
o The SRS can function only when the ignition key is in the "ON"position. If the SRS SRI does notcome on, or continuously re- mains on, after flashing for about 6 seconds when the ignition keyis turned to the "ON" position, or after the engine is started, comes on while driving, the SRS is notworking properly. If this occurs, have your vehicle immediately inspected by your Hyundaidealer. B990B04Y-GAT Side Impact Airbag (If Installed)
The purpose of the airbag is to provide the vehicle's driver and/or the frontpassenger with additional protection than that offered by the seatbelt alone. The side impact airbags are designedto deploy only during certain side im- pact collisions, depending on the crash severity, angle, speed and point ofimpact. The air bags are not designed to deploy in all side impact situations.

B240C03Y-GAT SRS Care The SRS is virtually maintenance-free and there are no parts you can safelyservice by yourself. The entire SRS system must be inspected by an au- thorized Hyundai dealer 10 years afterthe date that the vehicle was manufac- tured. Any work on the SRS system, such as removing, installing, repairing, or any work on the steering wheel must beperformed by a qualified Hyundai tech- nician. Improper handling of the SRS system may result in serious personalinjury.
!WARNING:
o The side impact airbag is supple- mental to the driver's and the passenger's seat belt systems and is not a substitute for them. Your seat belts must be worn at alltimes while the vehicle is in mo- tion. The airbags deploy only in certain side impact conditionssevere enough to cause signifi- cant injury to the vehicle occu- pants.
o For best protection from the side
impact airbag system and toavoid being injured by the de- ploying side impact airbag, both front seat occupants should sitin an upright position with the seat belt properly fastened. The driver's hands should be placedon the steering wheel at the 9:00 and 3:00 o'clock positions. The passenger's arms and handsshould be placed on their laps.
o Do not use any accessory seat
covers. o Use of seat covers could reduce or
prevent the effectiveness of thesystem.
o Do not install any accessories on
the side or near the side impactairbag.
o Do not use excessive force on
the side of the seat.
o Do not place any objects over the airbag or between the airbag andyourself.
o Do not place any objects (an umbrella, bag, etc.) between thefront door and the front seat.Such objects may become dan- gerous projectiles and cause in- jury if the supplemental side im-pact air bag inflates.
o To prevent unexpected deploy-
ment of the side impact air bagthat may result in personal in- jury, avoid impact to the side airbag sensor when the ignitionkey is on.

o Modification to SRS components
or wiring, including the addition of any kind of badges to the pad covers or modifications to the body structure, can adverselyaffect SRS performance and lead to possible injury.
o For cleaning the airbag pad cov- ers, use only a soft, dry cloth orone which has been moistened with plain water. Solvents orcleaners could adversely affect the airbag covers and proper deployment of the system.
o No objects should be placed over or near the airbag modules onthe steering wheel, instrumentpanel, and the front passenger's panel above the glove box, be- cause any such object couldcause harm if the vehicle is in a crash severe enough to cause the airbags to inflate.
o If the airbags inflate, they must be replaced by an authorizedHyundai dealer.
o Do not tamper with or discon- nect SRS wiring, or other com-ponents of the SRS system.
WARNING:
o Extreme Hazard! Do not use a rearward facing child restrainton a seat protected by an airbag in front of it!
o Do not install a child restraint system in the front passengerseat position. A child restraint system must
never be placed in the front seat. The infant or child could be se- verely injured by an airbag de-ployment in case of an accident. Doing so could result in injury, due to accidental firing of theairbags or by rendering the SRS inoperative.
o If components of the airbag sys-
tem must be discarded, or if thevehicle must be scrapped, cer- tain safety precautions must beobserved. Your Hyundai dealer knows these precautions and can give you the necessary informa-tion. Failure to follow these pre- cautions and procedures could increase the risk of personal in-jury.
