Cruise Indicator Light (Not all models)
The cruise indicator light in the instru- ment cluster is illuminated when thecruise control main switch on the end of the barrel is pushed. The indicator light does not illuminatewhen the cruise control main switch is pushed a second time. Information about the use of cruisecontrol is beginning on page 1-76.

The set indicator light in the instrument cluster is illuminated when the cruisecontrol switch is pushed downward to "SET (COAST)". The set indicator light does not illumi-nate when the control switch is in the "CANCEL" position. B260K01F-EAT
Hatchback Door Open
Warning Light
This light remains on unless the hatch- back door is completely closed andlatched.
SB2100I-E Door Open (Ajar) Warning Light
The door ajar warning light indicates that a door is not correctly closed. Ensure that the light is extinguishedprior to driving the vehicle.
B260P02Y-EAT ABS Service Reminder
Indicator (SRI)
(Not all models)
When the key is turned to the "ON" position, the Anti-Lock Brake System SRI will come on and then go off in a fewseconds. If the ABS SRI remains on, comes on whilst driving, or does not come on when the key is turned to the"ON" position, this indicates that there may be a problem with the ABS. If this occurs, have your vehiclechecked by your Hyundai authorised repairer as soon as possible. The nor- mal braking system will still be opera-tional, but without the assistance of the anti-lock brake system.
WARNING:
If both the ABS SRI and Parking Brake/Brake fluid level warning lightsremain "ON" or come on whilst driv- ing, there may be a problem with E.B.D (Electronic Brake Force Distri-bution). If this occurs, avoid sudden stops and have your vehicle checked by your Hyundai authorised repaireras soon as possible.

SB220D1-E HIGH AND LOW BEAM To turn on the headlight high beams, push the lever forward (away fromyou). For low beams, pull the lever back (toward you). The appropriate headlight beam indicator light will comeon at the same time. B340G01LZ-EAT Auto Light (Not all models) To operate the automatic light feature, turn the barrel on the end of the multi- function switch. If you set the multi-function switch to "AUTO", the side lights and headlights will be turned au- tomatically on or off according to exter-nal illumination. NOTE: Switch on car light manually in foggy, cloudy and rainy conditions.OGK026223R
NOTE: The ignition must be in the "ON" position to turn on the headlights. Side light auto cut (Not all models)
o The purpose of this feature is to
prevent the battery from being dis- charged. The system automatically turns off the headlights and sidelights when the driver removes the ignition key and opens the driver- side door.
o With this feature, the side light will be turned off automatically if the driverparks on the side of road at night.If necessary, to keep the lights on when the ignition key is removed, perform the following :
1) Open the driver-side door.
2) Turn the side lights OFF and ON
again using the light switch on the steering column.

1. : The rear window wiper starts to
operate three times after the washer fluid sprays onto the rear window.
2.OFF 3.INT: The interval between wipes op- erates every 5 seconds inter-mittently.
4.ON : The rear window wiper starts
to operate continuously.
5. : The washer fluid will be sprayed onto the rear window and thewiper operates whilst the rearwindow wiper barrel is placed in this position. NOTE: Do not operate the washer continu- ously for more than 15 seconds or when the fluid reservoir is empty;this could damage the system. Do not operate the wiper when the win- dow is dry; this can result in scratch-ing as well as premature wiper blade wear. For the reason stated above,do notoperate the washer when the washer fluid reservoir is empty.

SB240A1-E The hazard warning system should be used whenever it becomes necessaryto stop the car in a hazardous location. The hazard warning system is oper- ated by depressing the switch at whichtime all turn signal lamps will flash simultaneously and the turn signal warning lamps located within the in-strument cluster will flash simulta- neously. The hazard warning system may beturned off by depressing the switch again.

B380A02A-EAT The rear window defogger is turned on by pushing in on the switch. At the same time, the rear window defogger indicator light on the switch is turnedon. To turn the defogger off, push in on the switch a second time. The rear window defogger automatically turnsitself off after about 20 minutes. ASHTRAY
B430A01GK-AAT The front ashtray may be opened by pushing and releasing the ashtray door at its top edge.To remove the ashtray in order to clean it, the metal ash receptacle should be lifted out from the ashtray door. Donot attempt to remove the entire ash- tray door assembly or damage will result. To reinstall it, place it in theproper position and press it down in the ashtray door. B420A02A-EAT For the cigar lighter to work, the key must be in the "ACC" or the "ON"position. To use the cigar lighter, push the lighter all the way into its socket. When theelement is heated, the lighter will pop out into the "ready" position. Do not hold the cigar lighter at thedepressed position which may result in damage to the vehicle wiring or an electrical fire.If it is necessary to replace the cigar lighter, use only a genuine Hyundai replacement part. B470A01GK-EAT (Not all models) The sunshade can be opened and closed by sliding it forward or rearward when the sunroof is closed. The sunshadewill open automatically when the sunroof is opened, but it must be closed manu- ally. OGK046019

B460E03GK-GAT Resetting the Sunroof System If the battery has been recharged, disconnected or if the sunroof is oper-ated with the hexagonal head wrench manually, you may need to reset the sunroof. To do this;
1. Turn the ignition switch "OFF".
2. With pressing " " "up" button at the same time, turn the ignition switch"ON". The resetting is failed when the ignition key to the "OFF" within1.5 seconds.
3. If the sunroof is set like this, the sunroof is reset with tilting up/down automatically once for all.
CAUTION:
If the sunroof is not reset, it may not be operated properly.

MAP LIGHT

(1) Push in the map light switch to turn on the front passenger side light.
(2) In the "DOOR" position, the interior courtesy light comes on when any door is opened regardless of theignition key position. The light goes out gradually 6 seconds after the door is closed.

PARKING BRAKE
B530A03A-EAT The parking brake must always be set when the vehicle is to be left unattended.When the parking brake is applied, and the ignition key is at the "ON" position, the parking brake warning light will be
illuminated. Before driving the vehicle, the parking brake must be fully released and the warning light extinguished.
Applying the parking brake To engage the parking brake, first apply the foot brake and then without press- ing the release button in, pull the park- ing brake lever up as far as possible.
B520B02O-EAT Electric type (Not all models) The electric type day/night inside rear- view mirror automatically controls the glare of headlights of the car behindyou.
1. Pressing the button turns the auto-dimming function OFF which is indicated by the green Status Indica- tor LED turning off.
2. Pressing the button again turns the auto-dimming function ON whichis indicated by the green Status Indi-cator LED turning on.
NOTE: The mirror defaults to the "ON" posi- tion each time the vehicle is started. OGK046025In addition it is recommended that when parking the vehicle on a gradient, theshift lever should be positioned in the appropriate low gear on manual transaxle vehicles or in the P (Park) position onautomatic transaxle vehicles.

Driving with the parking brake ap- plied will cause excessive brake pad (or lining) and brake rotor wear. Releasing the parking brake To release the parking brake, first apply the foot brake and pull up the parking brake lever slightly. Secondly, depress the release button and lower the parkingbrake lever whilst holding the button.
WARNING:
Whenever leaving or parking the ve-hicle, always apply the parking brake fully and engage the appropriate low gear (Park position for automatictransmission models). Failure to apply the parking brake correctly could result in the vehicle movinginadvertently.
