o Do not keep objects such as sharp or unsuitable things inside thespectacle case. Such objects canbe thrown out in the event of a sudden stop or an accident, pos- sibly injuring the passengers inthe vehicle.
o Do not open the spectacle case
while the vehicle is moving. Therear view mirror of the vehicle can be blocked by an open spectacle case.

WARNING:

o Scraping ice from the mirror face could cause permanent damage.To remove any ice, use a sponge, soft cloth or approved de-icer.
WARNING:
Be careful when judging the size ordistance of any object seen in thepassenger side rear view mirror. It is a convex mirror with a curved sur- face. Any objects seen in this mirrorare closer than they appear.!
To adjust the position of either mirror:
1. Move the selecting switch to the
right or left to activate the adjustable mechanism for the corresponding door mirror.
2. Adjust mirror angle by depressing
the appropriate perimeter switch asillustrated. B510D01HP-GAT OUTSIDE REARVIEW MIRROR HEATER (If Installed) The outside rearview mirror heater is actuated in connection with the rear window defroster. To heat the outsiderearview mirror glass, push in the switch for the rear window defroster. The rear- view mirror glass will be heated fordefrosting or defogging and will give you improved rear vision in inclement weather conditions. Push the switchagain to turn the heater off. The outside rearview mirror heater automatically turns itself off after 20 minutes.

B510C01A-AAT FOLDING THE OUTSIDE REAR- VIEW MIRRORS To fold the outside rearview mirrors, push them towards the rear.The outside rearview mirrors can be folded rearward for parking in narrow areas.
WARNING:
Do not adjust or fold the outside rearview mirrors while the vehicle is moving. This could result in loss ofcontrol, and an accident which could cause death, serious injury or prop- erty damage.

o Fuel vapors are dangerous. Be- fore refueling, always stop the en- gine and never allow sparks or open flames near the filler area. If you need to replace the filler cap,use a genuine Hyundai replace- ment part. If you open the fuel filler cap dur-ing high ambient temperatures, a slight "pressure sound" may be heard. This is normal and not acause for concern. Whenever you open the fuel filler cap, turn it slowly.!

o Always double check to be sure that the hood is firmly latched before driving away. If it is not latched, the hood could fly openwhile the vehicle is being driven, causing a total loss of visibility, which might result in an accident.
o The support rod must be inserted completely into the hole providedin the hood whenever you inspectthe engine compartment. This will prevent the hood from falling and possibly injuring you.
o Do not move the vehicle with the hood in the raised position, asvision is obstructed and the hoodcould fall or be damaged.
REMOTE FUEL-FILLER LID RELEASE

The fuel-filler lid may be opened from inside the vehicle by pulling up on the fuel-filler lid opener located on the front floor area on the left side of the car. NOTE: If the fuel-filler lid will not open be- cause ice has formed around it, taplightly or push on the lid to break the ice and release the lid. Do not pry on the lid. If necessary, spray aroundthe lid with an approved de-icer fluid (do not use radiator anti-freeze) or move the vehicle to a warm placeand allow the ice to melt.

To open the trunk lid without using the key, pull up the lid release lever. To close, lower the trunk lid, then press down on it until it locks. To be sure thetrunk lid is securely fastened, check by trying to pull it up again.

TRUNK LID/TAIL GATE

WARNING:
The trunk lid or the tail gate should always be kept completely closedwhile the vehicle is in motion. If it is left open or ajar, poisonous exhaust gases may enter the car resulting inserious illiness or death to the occu- pants. See additional warnings con- cerning exhaust gases on page 2-2. Trunk Lid (4 Door)
o The trunk lid is opened by first turn-
ing the key clockwise to release the lock, then raising the door manually.
o To close, lower the trunk lid, then
press down on it until it locks. To besure the trunk lid is securely fas- tened, try to pull it up again.
Tail Gate (3 Door) To open the tail gate, unlock it by turning the key clockwise, then pull theoutside handle toward you. To close, lower the tail gate and shut firmly to engage the latch. Lock the tailgate by turning the key counterclock- wise. If the vehicle is equipped with centraldoor locking, the tail gate can be locked without a key. Push the front portion of the central door locking switch afterclosing the tail gate. If the tail gate is open when the front portion of the central door locking switchis pushed, the tail gate will be locked when it is fully closed.

When loading objects in the luggage compartment, use the four rings lo-cated in the luggage compartment to attach the luggage net as shown illus- tration. This will help prevent the ob-jects from sliding.

Your Hyundai is equipped with sun visors to give the driver and front pas- senger either frontal or sideward shade. To reduce glare or to shut out direct rays of the sun, turn the sun visor down.
!WARNING:
Do not place the sun visor in such a manner that it obscures visibility of the roadway, traffic or other objects.
A ticket holder is provided on the backof the sun visor for the driver. Vanity mirrors are provided on the back of thesunvisor for the driver and the front passenger (If Installed). NOTE: The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) label containing useful infor-mation can be found on the topside of the sun visor.

To Adjust the Steering Wheel:
1. Push the lever downward to unlock.
2. Raise or lower the steering wheel to the desired position.
3. After adjustment, securely tighten the lever by pulling it upward.
WARNING:
Do not attempt to adjust the steering wheel while driving as this may re-sult in loss of control of the vehicle which may cause serious injury or death.
