There are a couple of ways to manually lock or unlock
your vehicle.
From the outside, use the key in the driver’s door.
From the inside, use the lock control on the door.
Power Door Locks
The power door lock
switches are located on
the driver’s and front
passenger’s doors.
K(Unlock):To unlock the doors, press the unlock
symbol.
Q(Lock):Remove the ignition key and press the lock
symbol to lock all of the doors.
Delayed Locking
A chime will sound three times to indicate a door or
liftgate is open when you try to lock the doors with
the remote keyless entry transmitter or the power
door lock switch. The doors will not lock, and the
theft-deterrent system will not arm until all the doors
are closed and ve seconds have passed.
The delayed locking feature can be overridden by
pressing the lock button on the remote keyless entry
transmitter, or the door lock switch, a second time.
The doors will lock immediately and when all doors
are closed the theft-deterrent system will arm after
30 seconds.
To get the horn to chirp if a door was open during the
arming process, you must press the lock button on your
transmitter twice after the doors are closed.

Liftgate
{CAUTION:
It can be dangerous to drive with the liftgate or
liftglass open because carbon monoxide (CO)
gas can come into your vehicle. You cannot see
or smell CO. It can cause unconsciousness and
even death. If you must drive with the liftgate
open or if electrical wiring or other cable
connections must pass through the seal
between the body and the liftgate or liftglass:
Make sure all other windows are shut.
Turn the fan on your climate control system
to its highest speed and select the control
setting that will force outside air into your
vehicle. See “Climate Control System” in
the Index.
If you have air outlets on or under the
instrument panel, open them all the way.

Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter twice or use
the power door lock switch.
To lock the liftgate, press the lock button on the
RKE transmitter or use the power door lock switch.
The liftgate does not have a key lock cylinder.
To open the liftgate, pull up on the handle located in the
center of the liftgate.
When closing the liftgate, use the molded handles to
pull the liftgate down. Push the liftgate closed until
it latches.

Dome Lamp
The dome lamp switch has three positions.
*(Off):The lamp will not come on as long as the
switch is in this position.
1(Automatic):The lamp will come on when a door
is opened. SeeEntry Lighting on page 3-16.
+(On):The lamp will stay on as long as the switch
is in this position.
Entry Lighting
If the dome lamp is in the AUTO position, the dome
lamp and the cargo lamp inside your vehicle will come
on when any door is opened. In addition, the light
will come on when the remote keyless entry unlock
button is pressed. It will stay on for 20 seconds or until
a door is opened. After the door is opened the light
will remain on and stay on for 20 seconds after the doors
are closed, or until you put the key in the ignition and
turn the key to RUN.
Map Lamps
Your vehicle may have lamps located on the headliner
above the rearview mirror. Push on the lens in the
lamp to turn them on and off.
Cargo Lamp
The cargo lamp is located over the rear compartment,
and is controlled by the dome lamp. SeeDome Lamp on
page 3-16.
